Already play it on legendary mode ahh just no time to play because also playing sword of justice at least can buy rather than gacha cosmetic items, these two are NetEase.

The three trifecta of N

NetEase
Nexon
NcSoft

Are all shit, playing their game you just waiting to get screw one way or another.

The English translation and voice of NPC mainly all AI.

Their mini game are shit, Madiao card, pot pissing, AI conversation to be friend. At first maybe you feel like oh nice then after a few time you just want it to be done. Empty lifeless conversation.

Story at beginning seems alright then

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

TLDR: if you play English Voice, their voice suck

If you main CN voice, English subs ( a lot of nuance and wordplay you will be missing) some part you feel like oh end already

If you understand Chinese and can read better la

I can understand just can't read so depends on the subtitles but after a while I feel like I am missing something.

I went into the rabbit hole yea a lot of things missing in the English translation.

The skills leveling is really CB, all RNG and limited to what you can get.

There are few way to make it less RNG but still take forever if you want to min max skills.

You need 10, 20 , 30 ,50 then 100 books just to max one skills. There are a lot of them. One of the new weapon incoming HengDao basically need to be stage 3 then only usable cuz they lock the combo required for it to work.

You can't syok2 change to fist style cuz I like fist today tmr I want play sword. You will be missing a lot of skills level for it.

Pick one main weapon style and stick to it, the other one you just keep them low lvl for syok sendiri play

TLDR

The mini game sucks especially the riddle,ma lanciao card and others

The grindy part is time gated, basically you know the game got like 8 weapons and 3 more incoming

The books to upgrade your skills are all RNG and weekly gated

There is 15?20? Book in the box to Rng? You are limited by your stamina also.

Basically someone who play CN version for 1 year spend money every week grind he can't even max one weapon skills.

He is only 1 level away from max, and you can at most play 2 or 3 build max.

If you are the type that wan try everything then this is not the game la

Gameplay wise, I main highest difficulty basically parry game
Boss no new attack pattern just double triple damage and health.

Main for story just play normal mode can de

Wow I just installed the game and after reading your comment I uninstalled it straight away lol.

Now playing back Nexon's The First Descendant haha...... I've heard Nexon's nama busuk as well but currently the game I'm playing is NSFW Warframe clone. It's skins are little expensive but at least cheaper than this and no gacha.

I played The First Descendant before, and also Where Winds Meet, imo in the long run Where Winds Meet will age better.

Some of the downer for The First Descendant is the gameplay loop to try to get stuff that you want, it gets dull very fast, NSFW stuff can only carry the game to a certain point, the story is kinda bad, well you finish the campaign first see how you feel first, I stop after finishing the campaign and try to unlock other characters then stop right there.

Now I have lesser time on gaming so it suits me just fine. I just open game grind a few rounds and sleep dy. sweat.gif Now most powerful descendant is Serena and Hailey. Serena just flying and bombing mobs with that bullet splitting rocket launcher. And Hailey with her new module her Yamato gun one shots almost everything.

Plus with what happened to Genshin recently I really lost faith in those China devs. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Genshin released character lv100 with their anniversary BUT to reach that you need to whale. Means f2p players can say bye bye to other end game content in the future because level difference will affect your damage to mobs and bosses a lot.

Besides that they tend to release more and more pvp event where you need to screw up other players. I will not be surprised one day they release a event that require players to kill each other.

And the most recent thing is they added UGC which made quite a huge uproar among players but I'm not sure what is the reason. based on what I guessed maybe they pulled the Warcraft map editor stunt all over again.

i've been on this game a huge lot recently. so i ll give you my take

TLDR: 9.5/10, you owe it to yourself to at least try it.

so here comes the long version

MONETIZATION
- ITS P2W. but, in a way that i consider acceptable. POE is actually P2W, where they sell "pay for convenience" premium stash tabs that save you a huge amount of time and effort the longer you play the game. but no one complains about POE's P2W because its on a minor level. similarly WWM's p2w is on a similar level. i ll break it down by listing what you can actually get from the in game shop
-- Bonus materials - you can farm them in game.
-- Access to shop from anywhere - quite OP, but if you were to TP to any shop yourself it doesnt take more than a minute.
-- Extra in game gold - p2w but you theres many ways to farm gold in the game so its something most people dont even feel is an issue
-- Illusionary boat - can fish you likes and reward players who ride the boat. totally p2w but the rewards they get are also earnable in game.
-- Mounts - looks super cool but realistically you only use them in new areas for "not too long". once you've unlocked certain area quests, you will travel the map faster by literally jumping high in the air and soaring thru the sky before gliding down. OR you could run at super fast speed and parkour while jumping around with more agility than spiderman. the mounts really lose their value fast. non paid mounts exist but usually the paid ones have better stats and have the ability to "auto travel" where the mount will automatically walk to the destination you set. tbf you dont want to do this as theres a lot of things you'll miss out on the way getting there.
- All the above are things that i would say are p2w BUT acceptable. Other than that there are cosmetics. there are some cheap ones and some expensive ones. Its just cosmetic, if you're crying about a cosmetic being too expensive, thats a YOU issue. the super pretty cosmetics are for the whales. be thankful that the whales are supporting the game and keeping the game "f2p" for the rest of us.
- You can play the entire game without spending a cent, but you might likely end up buying a monthly pack or season pass to support the devs as these are "not too expensive". where the monthly pack is RM 22 and gives you some pearls enough to buy 3 cheap costumes.

Interface
- one concern i hear is "its a china game/its a designed like a mobile game". both true but its not as bad as you think.
- mobile interface, while you have 1001 banners, and you always get hit by a banner or two when you start the game. after that most of the banners are hidden. you actually have to LOOK for the banners if you want to find them. some banner buttons are on the top right of the screen but are usually tiny and dont really obstruct the view. It is a small issue if i m being honest.
- overall the interface is a non issue to me, it can be better for sure but then again its a f2p game.

Graphics
- Holy shit. its good.
- Bosses can feel super epic

Story/immersion
- If you dont rush the game, the story even tho is cliche can immerse yourself as though you're in a legend of condor type tv series. in fact one of the side missions references legend of condor.
- IMHO the first act is the most interesting as it covers the player's backstory and his struggles before venturing out into the world as an adventurer. The other acts dont feel as personal but thats fine. it still captures a lot of wuxia feel.

Side content
- a lot of interesting side content that can be skipped if you want.
- a lot of side story missions that are actually interesting.

Difficulty / Single player/ Multiplayer
- A lot of bosses require a high level of skill as you're expected to dodge or deflect attacks. BUT the game allows you 3 basic difficulties. story, recommended and expert. story mode gives player access to a special bonus which slows down time and prompt you to deflect an attack. this helps you LEARN the game and allows you to CHEESE thru hard bosses. if you suck so bad you could even invite a friend to help you out. recommended takes away that feature and is how the game is supposed to be played. expert is harder and theres an even more difficult difficulty option but ALL ARE OPTIONAL. you PLAY HOW YOU WANT. and theres no shame in playing story. i played a huge portion of the game on story as theres really so much content but later onwards when i was more confident i switched to recommended. a lot of my friends play on story mode.
- the game is MOSTLY single player and the game forces you to achieve certain things single player as better gear cannot drop if your single player level is not high enough. you can experience a huge portion of the games content single player so you really dont lose out for being singleplayer.
- in multiplayer, the difficulty is pushed to recommended so you need to play better, BUT with more players bosses dont target you all the time and some players can serve as healers so the experience wont be too difficult. the game does try its best to nudge you into going multiplayer as there are many events and rewards that you can get from participating but its all hugely optional. you're heavily incentivized to join a guild, form a mentor/disciple partnership and even a "bf/gf" partnership.

Balance/skills
- theres around 2 handful of base weapons. each base weapon has its own set of skills that you can use, you are incentivized to pair them with a matching weapon. BUT if you're confident and know what you're doing, you could make your own pairing of weapons to make a more unique playstyle.
- DPS is more or less king but each weapon excels at their own thing. you're not too punished for doing your own thing but the game is easier if you follow recommended paths. but that said you DO NOT NEED BUILD GUIDES. try the game and organically learn the game. there definitely are some stuff that are not obvious but dont worry about it until later. just enjoy the game!

Time gated game
- The game indirectly keeps you playing by time gating content. for example items used to upgrade your skills can drop normally but you can easily get them from a seasonal shop (using in game currency). but these items are limited and refreshed weekly. so indirectly it serves as a time gate as you cannot progrees too quickly.
- Similarly, the game actually CAPS your level. at 20, 30, 40 , 50, 55, 60, 65. reaching the cap, you would have to wait a few days before the game "raises the cap". initially i hated this idea. but after thinking about it, its actually an interesting roadblock as this system can somewhat force the player to explore the game more without getting too OP. experience gained while capped, is saved as saved experience, which will accelerate xp gains once the cap is increased.

FUN is the concept of the game
- despite a lot of limitations, when i played the game i felt FUN. genuine fun. your gear can get damaged if you die but you dont lose xp. you dont feel like you lost too much.
- as mentioned the game lets you play how you want to play, want to be a filthy casual/gamer dad? story mode! want to be a no lifer/streamer? legendary mode. want to play solo? most of the content is solo already. MP content seems largely optional but its also fun playing MP.
- theres tons to do. tons to explore. want to kill monsters? go ahead. want to do boss runs? also, go ahead! want to just leisurely waste time? theres tons of minigames. you can even decorate your own "house".
- a lot of the game design feels like the game was designed by gamers for gamers. ever played a sandbox game and you're told to take a windy path to reach a place? most gamers would just take a shortcut, climbing literal mountains to do so. most games put invisible walls or make the mountains not passable. but in WWM they just say fuckit all players can wall run up the mountain if they really want to. there are certain areas that do restrict movement such as event based areas and the edge of the maps. but besides that theres so much freedom of movement.

Grindyness
- you can grind for gear but you dont feel too forced to do that. you dont need to grind but you definitely get stronger with better gear.

you can feel free to judge the game harshly and many do saying stuff like its a china game, its p2w crap etc. but if you dont try to play the game seriously at least once, you dont know what you're missing.

as a f2p game, it really puts a huge lot of paid games to shame.
