But this time I might not upgrade two phones, just one. Wife is currently using the 13 Pro Max and I’m using 13, so will just get a 14 Pro Max and sell off one or the other. I don’t see the logic of getting a 14 or 14 Plus this round. Even the processor is not new. But I do suspect the 14 Plus will have even better battery life than the 14 Pro Max.

I’m guessing you won’t be switching this round since you just got the 13 Pro Max?

you can't take up another contract before the existing one end, and there is a penalty for early settlement.. Once you paid the penalty then you can do it online or walk in..

Any chance to waive termination fee of rm120plus? Anyone tried?

Maxis used to allow early termination for anything below 30 days (back in 2019), now its not possible anymore, they won't even allow even if your contract is 3 days left.. that's maxis though, not sure about other telco..

I think if you walk in to the maxis centres (not the dealers) you can ask to extend your contract and they usually will waive the penalty. That has been the case for me over the years.

Will be doing the same this round since my wife’s 12 Pro Max was bought in November (delayed due to the pandemic in 2020) so won’t be preordering too.

I usually get the privacy tempered glass from Taobao for my past iPhones. This round I'll be getting from Zuslab and give it a try.

Planning to upgrade from iPhone 8S, so, not familiar with the protection of the bulky lens at the back. I'm going to buy Rhinoshield (it served me well last time). Do I still have to buy lens protection? Any recommendation if I really need it?

telco tariffs on the new iphones are not out yet, they normally release it very last minute.. could be on the same day before preorder..

I usually disregard the need for any lens protection.
The lens are coated with elements from sapphire glass.

Putting any further protection in front of the lens may degrade image quality.
