Completely lost the plot not long after the subs, surprisingly. Watching us trying to play longball was quite painful towards the end.
However, our best players in Reece and kovacic (not fully fit) are still out. It was a poor performance but you guys are crazy if you think this was worse than the Leeds / Soton / Zagreb losses. Absolutely batshit crazy 🤣 This post has been edited by Kerplunk: Nov 6 2022, 10:01 PM |

QUOTE(briantwj @ Nov 11 2022, 09:43 AM) same old story. New manager come in middle or early season, players are not his signings, good start to the season, then a bit of bad results. He might need more than a season though. There's a real risk of missing out on top four this year, but we'll fight tooth and nail that's for sure. Boehly has got his man, and is actively recruiting the backroom staff to complement the whole operation. There's a clear long term plan for everyone to see, unless you're blind or just hung up on tuchel I guess 🤷Potter will need another season to fully implement his ways of playing, the players he wants etc. Be prepared for a season in the gua. lol. Now that Boehly chose Potter, he needs to stick with him. But the thing is, all this done without a football director right. I think key thing is get a football director in first, if not it's just Fantasy premier league for Boehly. lol. We need a football director with good experience. Can we get back Emenalo? I think the main issue here is we've been so pampered by Roman's hire and fire approach so some on here believe it's the ONLY way of doing things, in order to achieve success. Yeah it's nice to win a cup or two every once in awhile. But our failure to challenge for the league in a good 5 years and counting now, indicates a much deeper problem with how the club is being run I'll be here cheering us on just like I was during di matteo's run, mourinho's meltdown season, benitez, sarri, frankie, tuchel, and the lot of them. My sincere advice to the debbie downers who can't seem to find a single positive aspect with chelsea atm, is to take a break from watching us for a bit. It'll be for the sake of their own mental health. Whoever's been through all the crazy aforementioned seasons are made of sterner stuff though. We've survived much, much worse. QUOTE(dennis008 @ Nov 11 2022, 11:42 AM) I'd rather he didn't get selected actually. Our players are dropping like flies and the last thing we need is connor picking up an injury while desperately chasing a game. Here's hoping England get kicked out a.s.a.p 😆 |

QUOTE(gaeria84 @ Nov 11 2022, 06:04 PM) Actually roman towards the end less hire and fire and going towards a more long term projects There was some indication that roman was moving away from his old habits, but like the lampard example you provided, could we really say with confidence that he would be fine if we continued to slip down the table with tuchel? It's up for debate because we've never afforded that luxury to any manager, regardless of how many trophies they amassed for us. I think this was clearly established under jose 2.0. As they say, old habits die hard.It started with lampard, but for lampard the job too big for him (I predicted this way before his sacking) Then tuchel was perfect, and boehly should've continued with him as the long term manager The key here is that any long term project HAS be with the right manager, you get that wrong, then you need to rebuild all over I wouldn't trust boehly and co just yet, they haven't won anything like roman did. Whether they're in it to make the club better or just to make money off the club, we'll know soon enough You make it sound like hire and fire is terrible Real madrid, the most successful club in football history also practice hire and fire When manager is not bringing the intended results, it's time to go I know our revolving door policy with managers has brought us a ton of trophies and I've enjoyed every minute of it, but even I'm humble enough to admit this isn't the formula for long term 'league challenging' kind of success. The simple reason that I can give you is we're close to running the rule on all the world class / up and coming managers out there. So let's say potter's out...then what? Do we try and entice zidane / flick / pioli / nagelsmann next? What if that doesn't work out? Now the good news is there's some really interesting changes going on behind the scenes that indicates there will be very specific planning on the profile of player we recruit, so hopefully any succession planning will be more smooth. But like I said, even with that in place, who in their right mind would agree to take over knowing that any sort of failure would mean getting kicked to the curb? Now I'm not saying potter is infallible, far from it. But he's shown glimpses of his ability and it'll sure as hell take more than a season to realise his vision. Is he the right man? Hell nobody knows. But the way Todd's planning the structure of the club around him shows that this is no short term gig. We'll find out how much boehly trusts him if we fall out of the CL places (a real possibility that I'm prepared for) and he's still here next season. The good news for you is there'll be a structure and spine in place for the next manager to succeed, if he fails. The bad news is you'll just have to wait for that day to come, if ever. gaeria84 liked this post

I actually liked the line up today, showed some balls by rewarding hall, and keeping the faith with broja. However there were big issues with how we setup, broja was left isolated without any support whatsoever. It came down to mostly lumping it forward and hoping he can hold it up, but even then we didn't look remotely interested in attacking their box.
That mendy, koulibaly, and trevoh trinity of slow passing doom didn't help either, so it's definitely a personnel problem too. Can't believe how absolutely dreadful kk has looked, I think he's getting worse with each game which is saying something. Fofana can't come back soon enough. In the end we didn't show enough attacking endeavour, and what annoys me is we had more than 20 minutes to go ham and batter them but even with pulisic / ziyech / kai on, we couldn't conjure up anything meaningful. A good shot from Connor and that's it. That final run from kovacic where he just collides into their defense near their box without doing anything just typifies our performance, and his in particular. Horrible. World cup next and a chance to regroup, damn we need our key players back and major surgery to the squad in january. Just about had it with havertz and co flopping about while trying to look like they care. |

Datro fofana in (our last two Ivorians didn't do too bad did they?
All I hear about is how boehly's destroying the club so I need to provide some balance to the negativity here |
