I do not trust oil additives/treatments because, for the silly amt of money you're spending, you would hv been better off buying the highest quality premium engine oil of the correct spec in the first place.
Plus there's no guarantee oil additives (esp those with molybdenum etc that claim to reduce friction) won't wreck your clutch & f**k up your warranty.

QUOTE(jaycee1 @ Aug 16 2022, 10:37 AM) I don't understand additives at all. The bike (or car) is designed to use regular oil. And NEVER use car engine oil additives on a bike because the clutch uses the same oil with the engine. In fact, my Triumph manual specifically warns AGAINST using oil additives/treatments.

QUOTE(harryleesbr @ Aug 17 2022, 07:34 PM) Are all oil brands the same considering similar specs in I may ask? If they are genuinely certified to an industry standard (API SN, JASO MA2 etc), then they're basically the same in the sense that they meet the minimum requirement to protect & lube an engine that demands that particular industry standard. But producing parity products isn't good for marketing, coz you'll only end up with generic stuff that forces you to fight on pricing alone. So what they also do is add bonus features to differentiate themselves, justify higher prices & compete better against other brands.
