I see some talks about the Alza being underpowered.
don't think people who are in the market for this vehicle are looking for a powerful car.
it may not be as powerful as other MPV with larger capacity engine, it would still be manageable.
still be able to move on the roads or get up to Genting Highlands full load.
not so much on the driver wanting a sporty handling or powerful car.
Not about powerful cars, just whether there is sufficient power for it to do the job it is suppose to do.
A Formula One car 1.6 litre turbo V6 can be considered underpowered if it doesn't generate close to 1000hp as it will be slower than competitors on the racetrack.
The Alza may be considered underpowered if
a. It has a full load of 7 adults pushing kerb weight up to 1600kg
b. going up a steep incline approaching 20° as in certain Genting stretches
because in such cases, the engine has to rev beyond 4200 rpm where max 138Nm torque is generated.
Other conditions say 5 adults on flat roads is fine..
