is it normal for the car to jerk when u release pedal fully during low speed like 10-20km/h? is like the car want to slow down very quickly
*
from my experience, it does not happen every time.. I noticed that when the AC compressor kicks in at this scenario, the car will jerk and slows down quickly.

I tested this with AC off, and it does not happens. Seems P2 did not do proper fine tuning.. from myvi forum, they also experience this with same engine and same dcvt.
some said if put in power mode, this not happen.. hence i suspect fine tuning sucks for P2.

Not sure if veloz has this.. supposed to as same config.

I have a Myvi H 2022 and an Alza 2024 AV at home.  The low speed jerk on the Myvi is very apparent, and very uncomfortable, whereas the Alza is way smoother and is a joy to drive in the city.  For the "similar" D-CVT gearbox, it is almost like day and night, 2 different characters in each car.

Not sure what's is the tunnig and setting differences. The Myvi gear shift panel says P-R-N-D-S-B  whereas the Alza panel says P-R-N-D then +/-  to the right of D (just like Ativa).  All times I drive in D for both cars.
*
Thanks for sharing.. if i am correct, for Alza, they tuned the engine to have little bit better touque, but lesser HP. Just a tinnnnyyyy little. But still not the best tuning, like sudden lost power when AC kicks in hence DCVT hunting for lower gear. Just my 2 cents thought.

not tune. refer to air filter box @ resonator made the character changes.
if got tune we shall obtain high torq high + peak power

ok.. good info for me. seems not the best match among the 2 engine and dcvt. Other makes could have this problem too i think

How they contact eh ?
Until now also nothing from Perodua side
*
I did not received any email or mail from P2. I sendirin check and tightened it (my alza as well as my brother's one). Slight one about 10-15 degree of tightening.

Need allen key (T40 if not wrong) and 17mm angle wrench.

flex.gif Power lah... have all the tools
But if I'm not wrong the recall for service is only affecting 2023 model, so if it is very new, it is not affected.
*
no power la.. just that i learned a lot from my 'sifu' who is the mechanic in PJ.. he retired liao and i am just his customer.
i get the tools slowly when needed since before he retired. so mostly doing simple DIY stuffs from changine EO, filter, coolant, ATF etc. I just don't have good powertools do change front absorber back then on my old Alza.

eventhough it impacted 2023 models, there is still some tightening on my new alza tho. No harm checking.

thanks bro for the in-depth information. I’ll try this out. I’ve tested on my sister veloz, it is not happening and obvious as alza. You might be right on the ECU tuning part
*
mmm..engine should be the same for veloz and alza.. the only different i can see is the bigger wheels. might go for a test drive but no chance as no car to test.

even the 'shaking' when pushing (even a soft push') at 30-50kph, can feel the front shaking.. some suspected the driveshaft... i noticed that when tyres are at lower pressure (maybe 30lb), the shake is obvious. pump up to 33lb, much better. It is like only 3 piston running.. hehe

Anyone here have experience noise in glovebox ,noise from behind when going thru a not so good road conditions and going thru a bump there's a sound.
*
Nope. If sound from behind glove box, suggest:

1. remove glovebox. Try driving going thru bumps and see if there is still sound.
2. if no sound, means there are some loose wire/object that is knocking the glovebox. just check all inside for any loose objects. use cable ties to secure it if needed and retry to see if still got.

3. if still got sound, then there is something deeper. visually check all inner side for loose objects. Some time some socket (as example) knocking on certain parts. visual check and also touch/move some of the parts to see if there is something knocking each other.

4. also take out the cabin filter..see if there is any object there..

5. do you have any new installation, such as dashcam, new wires etc that involves behind the glovebox...

Hope they can find it and resolve.

*
Ya.. i do understand.. so many parts together, not perfect even we paying so much.

what to do. Sometimes, some of this sound may need to check ourselves and fix it ourselves. best if during your visit to SC, you can show them when going thru bumps it sounded. Else, after hours of checking by them, no sound found.

*
Veloz, coming out from same P2 factory... workmanship and parts quality. Luckily my Alza no issue on loose sound, except for brake 'yii yii' sound.
Even new house also not perfect.

Do share with us the outcome of finding the your issue. Maybe it helps just in case any other members here facing same issue.

Stupidly managed to hit a curb in the rain. Rear left tyre sidewall burst, straight flat. After changing to spare - now got a squeaking sound when driving. Will definitely need to check - any advantage to doing at 3rd party workshop compared to service center?
*
Workshop or SC... I think depends on how good your tire workshop that you trusted.

hitting a curb may cause something rosak, depends on how it hits.

Spare tyre or original tyres, it should be same as they are just rim and tyres.

possible you can do is, press/push the rear up down, to see if any sound..if yes, then need to see where the sound. 2nd is to jack up the rear side, turn tyres to see if got sound.

if just turning the tyre not giving any sound than it is not the spare rim/tyre. then need to troubleshoot where the sound coming from as potentially some part(s) bend or etc.

Sorry double post.

@LostAndFound, hope it is all resolved for you. Last 3 months, my rear right tyre runs flat when on the way to Melaka, a nail punch thru until no more air. Surprised me when the just roar during my 110kph on hiway. Donno mana kena the nail as before I start my journey, all 4 tyres are good which I normally checked before any distant drive.

Luckily, upfront is R&R, I slowed down to drive into R&R, replace it with the spare tyre and change this one into a used tyre as replacement. No point buying a new tyre with different brand. The inner side of the flat tyres all dusted with inner side wall residues.. no choice change to used tyre which will be as spare. Maybe later when need to change new tyres all round, swap into spare.. let's see.

Any reliable Alza workshop in PJ? My Alza mileage is very bad. RM 50 can travel 150km to max 200km. I suspect oxygen sensor rosak but they say no check engine light means no problem. Any workshop that I can send to check? Thanks.
*
No warning light does not mean the sensor is still okay. Suggest to take out the sensor, clean it as the first step.
If have good obd sensor, can check the sensor working chart.. eventhough it still function but maybe not full working condition, there will be no error code. There should be a way to also test the sensor using multimeter. check out xxxtube. Hope this helps.

Anyone had to change battery so far? Today morning car refuse to start, after jump start and drive a bit on highway seems okay.
*
how many years dah? suggest go to check/test the CCA on the battery first, top up battery water if needed, go for a drive like 30mins then test cca. New battery should be 360 if not wrong. if below 70% (about 250-260), it wont start. Then no choice to change battery already. just my view unless want to try the 'magic' battery water.

Anyone had this problem with 1st gen alza
when raining time drive through water patch battery light or AT will appear.
*
My previous 13yo Alza don't have this problem. suggest to check the error code first. suspecting the AT/gearbox sensor.
Check the socket first to see if possible crack socket or loosen. Clean it and plug back, ensuring the rubber seal in socket still okay as water sips in.

Yes I am (which definitely contributes to lower battery life). For me, if turn that off and spend more on petrol, probably will cost more than the battery replacement cost over time?
*
Very good question !! I think depends on how each driver use and also think.. hehehe

I just did a quick google as reference.. it is about 1.2liter fuel used per hour during idle. If 1 month the idle off for 1 hour total, we saved 1.2L.. that is RM2.46 (RM2.05 * 1.2) saving on fuel.
so 2 years RM2.46 x 24 mths, that is RM59.04 saved.

If don't use eco-idle, et's say the battery life is 3 years, then no fuel saving on idle. Our battery costs about RM300 for eco-idle.

Let's say we put 6 years owning the Alza:

1. with Eco-idle:
a. 6 years fuel saving total RM177.12.
b. changing 3 times battery, hence spending RM900.
c. RM900 - RM177.12 = RM722.88.

2. without eco-idle:
a. 6 years fuel saving total = RM0
b. changing 2 times battery, hence spending RM600
c. RM600 - RM0 = RM600

With the above 2 scenarios over 6 years, then without eco-idle is better. If the price of petrol up, then result will be different.

Just my view and may not be the right one to look at. Please do give your view too as I dont know if my way of view is correct. just something to 'korek' our heads.

QUOTE(QQQ133 @ Jun 1 2024, 08:00 PM)
After using my new Alza AV for a few months, I have a few items that I like to seek fellow Alza owners for advice & comments:

Door Auto-unlock Function
I understand that there is door auto-unlock functions (settings to switch between gear shift position linked auto-unlock of doors, engine switch-off linked auto-unlock of doors or disable function). I like to set to engine switch-off linked auto-unlock of doors but the service rep of Perodua said not possible to set this up. Anyone has any experience in this?

Heads-up Display Function
I discovered on my car that frequently (but still unable to ascertain under what specific conditions) if I shift to reverse very shortly after I have started the car, the reverse camera will come on for a short while then disappear. So, I ended up having to shift out of reverse and shift back to reverse to get the reverse camera. Anyone has such experience? Is this just the Heads-up Display unit taking too slow to fully start up? My previous car (7 years old Nissan XTrail) has no such issue, and the HU display seems to be a lot more responsive than Alza's (hence my suspicion this issue is due to slow start up).

2nd Row Seatback Adjustment Lever
My 2nd row seatback adjustment levers (to fold up the 2nd row seat to access to 3rd row seats) are very stiff. Any suggestion where I can apply some silicon or WD40 to lubricate to reduce the difficulties in folding the seat?

TQ!
*
For auto-unlocking when ignition off, can. See owners manual page 2-45.

For 2nd row seat, not sure when you said stiff.. you mean the lever on the side that trigger folding up? maybe a quick video to show us.. else, you go to showroom, if got test car, try it if it is easy.. then tell SC in next service. If you spray WD40.. nanti drips out to carpet or seat lagi jialat. My one okay ah no issue.

Just curious how many km/l you guys got for your Alza. I'm getting about 14 to 14.5km/l on mix city highway drive
*
I am getting around 14-15+ on mix city hiway drive. If pure hiway for that day, getting about 18-20+, about 21-22 if using eco mode.
When purely in town drive getting about 12+ only.
