While driving on the road, was observing the brands of the tyres especially those changed the RIM to a more gaya RIM.

But turned out to be - most of those gaya RIM paired with unbranded tyres.

Why not new RIM pair with Michelin or Pirelli or Conti?

Brand new CN tires better than used branded tires. Been using CN made tires for years now. When new, very grippy. After like 1.5 years, need to change a pair.

The wheel look is what people see first rather than peek for the tire brand.

Basically the owner is telling everyone that look is more important than performance/safety...

Typical of those who think about gaya only and have wrong priorities.

No, not really true. I'd take 60-70% condition PS, F1, CSC series over any brand new CN brand tyres.

Also, alot of ppl u see on the road change to an inferior rim, unbranded, replica ones.

If change to a original volks racing, enkei, o.z, vorsteiner etc kinds brand still ok la (ie. These if ori costs upwards of 6k-10k for 18” rims), at least they’re upgrading, and can be brought over to their next car after 5yrs.

But the moment you see some g20, or some so called “luxury” car rolling on taiwan, thailand made cheapass rim (ie.2k-3k+ only), then it really shows the owner is an idiot.

why must use michelin, pirelli and conti tyres? other brand cannot use?

i dont even drive fast on my daily drive, if i were to spend money on ps5 but stucked in the jam 80% of the time and only 20% high speed on highway but end up getting blocked by a lane hogger

i might as well change to a cheaper china tyres, i'm using farroad now, not a good performance tyres but it still perform well in the rain and high speed driving on dry road and the price i pay is 1/3 of a michelin ps5

if raining i will just drive on the left lane within 80-100km/h at most, no point using the best rain tyres if the driver cannot anticipate the road condition and behavior of other drivers

when come to racing/gymkhana time, i swap my stock rim with cheapo china tyres with my flow form sport rims and extreme performance tyres

I have no idea why you need to mention about pcd spacing to my post when it’s really irrelevant to my point.

Everyone has their own definition of “not cheap”, and as i quoted - replica/fakes is priced rm3k+, that to me, is cheap if installed on a luxury car.(300k onwards).

My point is, it’s really funny meeting other bmw owners and they somehow “shocked” when i told them my vorsteiner rim is priced at 11k, and they pointed out their off-brand rims/design is “better-deal” at 3k. All kena syndrome of “all-money-maxed-out-on-loan”, until when i tell them uhh.. your next tayar cchange is gonna cost you 4k yaknow, what’s so suprising? Unless beli cap ayam tyre.

Vossen is also one of the good shit.

But if buy from our chaplang store like kedai bawah pokok or rim shop that only caters to the masses who have no idea (ie. King of rim is one of the worst offender), then sudah la no different from our thousands of replica rim shop in malaysia lol.

But if u got this vossen from the sunway shop then memang top.

its also depends what kind of brand rim you mention..normally branded rim not necessary use non brand tyre.

Non-brand tyre some are quite good as well with lower cost.

Don’t say unbranded tayar la… even the rims they change itself is already some unbranded rim, that most of the time, original stock rim is more structurally stronger.

If those that changed to FORGED rims(most femes in MY for fully forged is rays volks racing brand), then power lah, memang got point, and money lol

Forged is the best but flow forming is also good enough. I had Volk Racing forged rims before but then sold it off for a profit. Lol Now just using original flow forming rims (Enkei, Konig), still almost as light and strong but much cheaper, so best value for money.
