Having never read the original comic, I had no preconceptions about the characters. It was very entertaining IMHO. The acting was very good, and the stories a mixture of plot progression and anthology type. My favourite episode was about Dream's friendship with a human he made immortal, and their promise to meet up every 100 years at the same pub. Also subversively good was the episode at the diner.

Back when I was a teenage, Neil Gaiman's graphic novels were too expensive for me. And my local library never really carried such titles, so I read up mostly Enid Blyton's and Roald Dahl's.

I guess US film makers really dont care of the hetero group section views, just to increase viewership from homo group section.

Depictions of gender fluid or homosexuality have been around in popular literature since like forever, from Le Carre's cold war spy thrillers to Anne Rice's vampire chronicles. It says more about the people commenting about the shows than it does about the source material.
