More than 10 years ago my bumi friend who got lesser As than I do got offered for JPA while I was offered pertanian, perikanan and I don’t remember what else. When the courses i applied for were all engineering like e&e, civil , mechanical lol!
What a way to crash a non’s dream. I didn’t come from a well off fam but my dad managed to get a loan n send me to private just so i can study what i wanted n to be successful in life.
No matter how one tries to convinced me there r also non in public U, they r really just a small subset who r the lucky ones. Since i have experienced this favouritism first hand, i just sneer at news like this.
And my bumi friend who got jpa coz his family was rich to begin with, just paid bond and never come back to MY to work too lol what a joke
This is the kind of people you raise

Stories like you told are everywhere. Evidence is clear as day but these hypocritical, double standard <them-who-shall-not-be-named> asal puak kiter, still got no shame to ask, where's the evidence and statistics?

And that is why they r burnt on both ends of the stick. They deserve nons like me who doesn’t really see why i should go back and help country development when they never cared for my future (of coz i m not that great until i will impact economy la. Just 1/900k who decide to not work in MY) all i care for are my beloved family and friends who are still in malehsia. And the other end burnt with the smart bumi who just take the opportunity or privilege and leave the country too like my friend
They really dug a hole themselves. But then again maybe this has always been the masterplan. It is easier to manage when ppl r brainless

I once had this colleague (hint: not a NON). we had lunch with her, she boast that she had 100% scholarship to study in UK. Our eyes open big big, because she is RICH....she lived in a bangalow In PJ, her dad is RICH got helang biz. Why does she get access to these benefits when she is a helang ???

Precisely! At least offer to bumis who r smart yet cannot afford bills also won’t be as imbalance.

I am scholar too last time. But my peers knew that they are privileged to get the scholarship if compare the results with us nons. Good bunch of lads but they also feel abit malu to mention this to anyone. Low profile.

The ones that get scholarship like bank negara, sime Darby are the real deal. You will see all race across the group. Fruit or not, all power

Yea my friend did not boost in fact he got paiseh a bit. Especially there was another non in our group got flat A also had to go stpm just to finally be offered into UM.
During my generation there wasn’t THAT many scholarships and the availability were far and few. These days i think some nons just aim for overseas scholarships. Last i heard from a friend who is NUS lecturer about how one of his non students couldn’t get anything decent from home yet offered a scholarship from NUS. I felt a mixture of embarrassment and proud when he told me the story while saying the student is smart. I couldn’t refute because i had the same experience. Not like i want to tarnish our gov reputation further
