you have no idea how rich student these days are. and more importantly, spending on something else over something they supposedly claim to be crazy/hardcore at.
and thats why i highlight that if you have the will, you will have the way. student can also part time, right? i am VERY SURE *MOST* part time jobs, even dish washing at a local restaurant, can earn enough to support a blu ray disc, and a ps3 (or, cheaper solution of a bd player/rom). and if you really needed to get a hd monitor (you could actually just use a hdmi -> dvi converter, which i am sure most people these days are long over analog), monitors that can support 1080 hdmi are as cheap as 400-500 ish. maybe another month of washing dishes.
and who's to say, he cannot use his newly upgraded ps3/monitor etc etc for other bd? or other purposes? and he can further continue to support more for the things he is supposedly crazy/hardcore at, no?
my point has always been this: hypocrites. (not pointing to anyone in particular, however, check out zero_kbom's sig)
LOL. Pinpointing my sig? Since when this become personal?
Well I'm affilated with Nokia Rangers program with Nokia Malaysia. So all Nokia stuff there, headsets and phones there were free. And my lappie were given by my college, so again, its free. Your point being?
The only stuff I bought are my Dell Venue Pro (230 euro), and my Playbook (200 euro). and that oldish NDS.
Yes, it might be seen as I'm stupidly rich. But being a student overseas, I have to balance between spending and saving. And trust me, the cost of living in Dublin, Ireland just keep rising.
I can't afford to buy stuff I don't need. Just like how unfeasible for me to go buy a friggin blu ray player. Heck, my current house didn't even have a TV.
And working? Please, being a medical student, I barely have time to myself (Going out home at 8am, back at 10pm everyday)
Don't get me wrong. I really understands what you try to say. If you like something, you have to strive hard to support it. And I'm supporting it as much as I could. Buying out albums from producers I loved thru KarenT, importing official merchandises, heck burning out almost rm 200 just to watch one concert livestream. Yes, 200 for a video stream. But thats just how I'm giving out my part.
My point being, you don't know me. And I don't even know you (Altho we met once during Daicon 09 at MMU Cyberjaya IINM, but hey, I'm just a lowly nobody, so of course you dunno me). I'm happy for you managed to support your Horo craze etc etc. And I'm also well aware of me being such lowly cheapo "that unable to buy a bd"
But really, stop judging. Jeez, its getting pointless now to argue.
