Current tyre size is 175/65 R14. I'm looking for similar handling but maybe better comfort; if I can improve both then it'd be awesome.
*
Iriz stock rim's width is 5.5". So, max. recommended tire width is 195mm.

If you want to increase the tire width, you can should be able to increase it to 185/65R14. The 2.2% increased size is within tolerance of 3%.

However, generally 185/65R14 tires are significantly more expensive than 175/65R14 tires.

In my opinion, the estimated gains should not be worth it.

You'll be better off getting a better tire. What tires are you using on your car, right now?

Just remembered to check, Yokohama BluEarth-Es ES32. Wondering if this is a good tyre or if there's other alternatives to look out for. I do like the ride so far but if I could reduce the road noise, I'd like that. Could just be the fact that Protons have bad sound insulation.

There is not much choices for 14 inchers.

If comfort you seek, Michelin Energy XM2+ would be your recommended choice.

However, your handling performance would be sacrificed, as your current tire is better in that aspect.

What are the impacts of fitting a slightly wider tyre on stock wheels.

Taking a Myvi for an example the stock tyre size is 185/55/R15.

If I decide to fit a 195/55/15 tyre on to it will there be any problems discounting that I understand that the tyre will "bulge" out slightly, increase FC slightly.

How can I compensate the tyre pressure to account for the slightly larger volume?
*
Stock myvi 15 inch rim's width is 6.0jj. So, 195mm width tire can fit

Generally, wider tires attributes to:
1. Increased comfort
2. Increased risk of aquaplaning
3. Increased grip
4. Increased fuel consumption

Can help to recommend 185/55/R15 tyre for Saga VVT. Currently using stock tyre (Atlas). Toyo CR1 is RM220 in my area. Looking for budget tyre, maybe below RM200 each. Thanks.

never heard before, it's have a good grip and longer lasting?
as additional, the noise is acceptable?
*
I would rate the tire as an okay & acceptable tire for the price.

They are definitely much better than the stock Atlas tire.

Hi sifus, I'm looking to change my tyre. Between Goodyear Triplemax Assurance and Toyo Proxes CR1, which is a better option ah? Since both about the same price. 185/55 R15
*
I would recommend Toyo Proxes CR1. One of my cars is using that as stock tire.

My review after 1000 ish km.

Pros:
1. Quiet
2. Comfortable
3. Good wet grip (significantly better than Hankook Ventus Prime 3)
4. Good aquaplaning resistance (significantly better than Hankook Ventus Prime 3)

Cons:
1. Lesser dry grip (worse than Hankook Ventus Prime 3, about on the same levels as Bridgestone Turanza T001)
2. Lower handling during cornering, squishy soft sidewall

Verdict:
A tire suitable for small compact city cars. A worthy, if not better, recommendation against Continental ComfortContact CC7, & also in this case, Goodyear Assurance Triplemax.

Thank you sifu~ That means cornering also not as good as the Goodyear?
*
Should be similar.

The main issue with Goodyear Assurance Triplemax tires are they're noisy & they have relatively short mileage (about 30k km ish).

Can please recommend tyre for bezza 2017? Using ori rim.
Been changing tyre from Perodua service center. Now it's time to change again, wonder is there any better option?
Just budget tyre below RM250. Hopefully relatively safe, fuel efficient, quiet .. not really into speed/performance

Toyo Proxes CR1. It has the 175/60R15 size available

i see. btw , someone posted like this
size 175/65/14
dunlop j6 RM143
continental cc7 RM163
michelin xm2+ RM227

Dunlop so much cheaper, how is it?

I'm using good year from Perodua, forgot the model
*
Most likely because Dunlop j6 tend to wear out faster.

Based on reviews, it is a bit noisy too.

Personally I prefer Michelin XM2+ as it is the best tire out of the 3, & also has a 6 year manufacturer warranty

Very poor grip in wet.

The right phrase to describe it when braking. The feeling of "meluncur/sliding".

What is the width your rim?

In terms of wheel diameter, still within 3% tolerance (+1.2%)

Have you tried prime 3? If yes, how much improvement the Prime 4 had over its predecessor?

I've tried Prime 3, it was a lousy tire on wet roads.

So much I'm blacklisting this particular range from my tire wishlist

without details hard to know if can or not how best to salvage... obviously you know already handling is subpar only you can tell if its gonna be dangerous or not... really if you are uncertain and its bothering you non stop then maybe best is to revert to original for peace of mind least one ends up in longkang in a rainy night... i stay in subang and almost every time it rains, someone will end up in the ditch or turn turtle near the federal highway turning, im sure its all tyre related...

MC6 does export out. I believe MC7 will be out to other areas soon as it is categorized as normal UHP tires and can sell at a lower cost level compare to the Sports Contact. They are competing with Michelin and each other big brands so will need to create different models to cater different group.

FYI the old Michelin PS3 is still under UHP category, and some tyre size still selling under PS3 model line.
*
Should be the SEA & Australia as the export market of this tire.

Learned the hard way regarding Hankook Ventus Prime tires.

Lousy af. No more. Aside from online user & Youtube reviews, need to consider feedback from tire shop & other users met in RL.

All in all, need to consolidate all of those with a pinch of salt.
