Usually not supported by microsoft LTS updates already, there are companies out there that specialize in providing security patches for older software and OS'ses

I feel you Bro.
One of my friend give away her old Toshiba laptop.
Intel centrino 1.6ghz with 1.2GB (1gb + 256mb) with a 'huge' 60gb IDE hard disk. Lcd screen not blur. Just over contrast.
It came without the adapter so I bought a universal adapter.

Only issue is that it keeps BSOD each time I load LYN page in Firefox (updated to the last version for Xp). At first I wanted to replace with win 7 but I figured I probably install Ubuntu Linux as secondary OS (Dual Boot).
Ah... Those Windows xp memories.
