Nice to try this kind of shot.

You need faster shutter speed and bigger aperture and very steady hands, if you're not using tripod.

Great effort!

I might in the future, although that is probably very low on my priority list.
After trying that event once I can tell you, with a decent amount of certainty, that I don't really like doing events unsure.gif

Maybe I'll end up liking it when I get a faster lens in the future but I'm not too sure brows.gif brows.gif

I literally just posted a 7 seconds short of how I took a photo and it had gotten this much traction...

hmm...
is there any reason why you would recommend the 35mm over the 50mm?

perhaps the crop factor?
since 35 x 1.6 = 52mm full frame equiv

Yes, 35mm apsc (52mm FF) is a much much more versatile lens to shoot with.

Get yourself a flash, you may not realize how important is a flash, but you will eventually.

Lighting > lens > camera body. So, flash is a MUST in my photography dictionary. You may not realized it, but for the kind of photography you wanted to do, you will see that flash is utmost important, sooner or later.

ya, I remember when I started photgraphy, always want to shoot in natural light LOL, but later found out that with flash, it lit up the photos especially in indoor

Yea maybe I can invest in an inexpensive flash in the near future as well if I have spare cash after getting a new lens...
Actually I'm going to start saving maybe 50 bucks every month for camera equipment so I won't have to hear my girlfriend bitch about me spending 'unnecessary' money on this expensive hobby of mine.

Also, I have borrowed a Canon 50mm f1.8 from a friend of mine to try it out for a week and see if I like that , in the meantime I'll try to see if any of my friend owns a 35mm as well so I can test both of those focal lengths out.
I'll post some pics taken on the 50mm soon!

same tbh, I always try to shoot without flash even indoors with very low light, cus I thought it'll make me a little bit too visible / make it too obvious that I'm taking a photo of someone (since i'm more interested in street photography)

You actually has a girlfriend ? blink.gif

Joke aside, if you start shooting her more, I think she will start appreciating your hobby instead. The 50mm ( 50X1.6 = 80mm FF) lens that you've borrowed will come in nicely for that task. brows.gif

might want to ask her if it's okay to take pictures of her but from the back or from the side..
because I know some female friends of mine who also don't like to show their face on pictures..
nothing to lose to ask, I guess.. hmm.gif

And here's a little test with the 50mm lens that I borrowed.

Its got a few fungus here and there but its still significantly sharper compared to my 80-200 zoom lens
And that bokeh tho drool.gif drool.gif

also just gotten my tripod so i could finally shoot manual indoor with a slower shutter speed and low iso without having the entire image just be a blur fest

i'll take this lens out for a test run on the streets this weekend, stay tuned!

Now I don't have the weight and size of the camera as an excuse of not bringing it around now.
