Hi guys, I got inspired by Razgriz's (W_9235) journey and decided to start my own.

All feedbacks and criticism are welcome, helps me improve as a photographer!
At the moment I am still stuck with the crappy image uploader since I'm still P lesen and can't embed from Flickr directly (although do please check out my Flickr from the link in my signature!), so the image quality is probably shit.
Here are some of my latest photos, I'll refrain from including pictures that I took with my iPhone here as I'd like to think that my proper photography journey starts when I got my DSLR.

I'll be going back to Labis this week, and I'll definitely bring my camera with me along with my broken tripod to try some night time photography too!

Nope not really, my hometown is JB rclxm9.gif
Im bringing my GF back to her hometown (Labis) today and will probably take a few pictures there, I know a few spot for some decent street photography (assuming I have the time to do so)

Anyways, here are some of the shots I took yesterday when I was walking around my apartment with my camera strapped around my neck for some reason.

I see, my hometown is at Segamat.
went back yesterday but didnt bring my gear.
Same like my previous tips, try to shoot close and leave the telephoto lens behind.
you'll feel connected to the community cos you will be talking to the people that you shoot and might know their stories.

I was today years old when I realized that I've been shooting on 80mm x 1.6, since I am on APS-C
So I was technically shooting on 129mm this whole time shocking.gif shocking.gif shocking.gif

Still trying to save up for maybe a 35mm or seeing if there's anyone willing to swap with my EF 80-200 f4.5-5.6 USM lens

Purely experimental

Okay so I've also always wanted to try food photography too.

And using a 80mm lens is definitely not the greatest idea I've had since a long time.

You have no clue how far I had to stand away from the table to actually get a focus on bangwall.gif

Megurine Luka - Amour

I have resorted to taking pictures of my waifu's figurine.

Megurine Luka in her Amour outfit.
Photos are taken with few A4 papers as backdrop and my iphone as a light source.

You mean you are married? blink.gif Or you meant this figurine is your wife? hmm.gif

1. Try to place your figurine in the center of the frame. 2. Try to place your figure further from the wall (background). The strong shadow casted on the back is very distracting. 3. Try to diffuse your light source. You can use a piece of white bed sheet/cloth to put in front of your light. If you can't find a piece of white bed sheet/cloth, just use a piece of white plastic bag (this should be easily available). 4. Try to angle your light 45 degree to the left/right.

Try to shoot again the same figurine with my 4 suggestions and see how it compare to your current photo. If you think it looks better after the changes, you can assimilate that into your next shooting.

Hahahah neither of it is true actually, just typical anime otaku's way of saying that I love this character.

Anyways, I'll try again with the suggestion and see how it is, do I need to diffuse my flash as well?
Thanks for the advice!

Its an EOS 40D with 80-200 f4.5/5.6 USM lens.
FYI the pictures uploaded here is not the full size, I had to downsize it to below 1MB and upload via the default image uploader.

They're shot on

ISO 320
f5.6
200mm
1/30

I had to stand super far away from the subject in order to properly get a focus.

What flash? You didn't mention about using a flash in the last shot of your figurine. You just said your light source was your iphone.
