You'll Never Walk Alone
(Liverpool FC Theme Song)
🎼When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don't be afraid of the dark

At the end of a storm
There's a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark

Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown

Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone

Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you'll never walk alone

You'll never walk alone
🎶

Ok, time to sign Cristiano Ronaldo, since last time Gerard Houllier said he almost signed him, but retracted because too high wage.

TS should give special mention in the first post to our "transfers director" Julian Ward, since he's been doing stellar job so far, just like his predecessor.

Just solely adding him as Sporting Director in the staff list is kinda odd. Give me some time, I'll compile a more comprehensive staff list then add it on the main post. wink.gif

I think Mabaya play quite good but still inexperience. Carvalho also good link up with Diaz. Nat Philips is not good tonite.

Good things is that they can hold off MU first team is quite good also.

I wont look too much into this match. I think Liverpool split their squad into 3 teams so everyone will get game time especially the academy players.

MU are using their first team bar 2-3 players. But their pressing is impressive though.

They can press because they are not against our full 1st team. If our first team play, I doubt they dare to go that high, no matter how ETH set his team.

I won't mind if we won 5-0 or lost 5-0. It's all part of preseason and we all know these trips are for commercial reasons more than anything. Glad that we are playing in Bangkok and Singapore before heading to training camp. Utd going to Australia after this if not mistaken 😳
We will see how our preseason turn out to be when we play City in the community shield.
Hope we at least score once in the 2nd half and avoid injuries.

at least mabaya and frauendorf both are still kids, gomez should really start cutting his mistakes if he really want to fight for his place...other than that, liverpool actually play really well and quite unfortunate to not score a single goal

Yes one area I want to see us improve this season, is converting our chances. It s crime to create so many chances n not converting them

I am glad too, at least Klopp did a whole team rotation, so that everyone have a chance to play. Pity that the first 3 goals is from our own mistake, and if I rmb correctly it was from the youngster as well. Hope they don't take it too seriously.

Anyway, both Firmino and Diaz is looking so fit and sharp, guess they didn't party too much during the holiday. laugh.gif

Ox forced off by injury. Bad news and hope it is not serious. If injured no one will be looking to sign him.

Leighton Clarkson on.

Nunez missing a very good chance, 2nd time in 2 games.
Very clumsy when closing down too.

Early days for him but hopefully we didn't pull a Andy Carroll here 🤣

Musiala?

Ox unlikely to be sold now unless we bring in another midfield. Plus ox pulled his hamstring after taking a shot during preseason, it's more unlikely. laugh.gif

It was nothing more to encourage Nunez and show support from Salah and the whole team. See how Henderson celebrate it.

Yes, Salah only subbed out at 60th minutes.

So first 2 goal score by Nunez while Salah is still on the pitch. They purposely let Nunez to take pen to let him break his duck first.

City seems happy to let go their players to arsenal, must be arteta factor. I don't think they would sell to a direct rival like us... Or maybe their policy not as strict or rigid... Anyone not happy can go...

I think their policy might not be as strict given they need to balance their book? Not a lot of people will pay their asking price for the players they sold.

Their transfers have been good so far. Haaland is an upgrade of Jesus. Phillips replaces Fernandinho (free transfer, probably funded by Sterling's sale?) and they seems to plan to use the money from Oleksandr Zinchenko's sale to buy Marc Cucurella.

At 17, he looks way more solid than tyler morton the 19yo kid for me.

With the Asian Tour and relatively short pre-season works in Austria, fitness wise it's not the most ideal preparation for the season.

Klopp's pre-match press conference vs Manchester City (Community Shield):

Alisson
QUOTE
“Ali trained today more than the day before, he will definitely be available for Fulham, but not for the weekend,”

Diogo Jota
QUOTE
“The same for Diogo. He was not here with us, how could he play a football game? That will take a while, unfortunately,”

Community Shield
QUOTE
“The game on Saturday will it show a lot about the season? I expect two good teams, I saw last night, even when we lost, especially in the second half, I saw [us] in really good shape.

“I hope we can bring that on the pitch on Saturday as well, but, of course, it will be a challenge just to play 90 minutes, I’m not sure of the weather in England but it can be hot as well.

“If you win it, it’s a very important competition and if you lose it, then it becomes less important.”

QUOTE
“We have to extend our pre-season into the season, we play on Saturday against City and we play Sunday a test game against Strasbourg, then we play Fulham and the next day we play another game just so we can extend our pre-season,” Klopp explained.

“It’s just what we have to do because from mid-August on, I think, we play every three days again. There’s no time for training anymore.”

Sadio Mane
QUOTE
"We lost Sadio who was a fixed member of the lineup for 6 years, he told us he wanted a new challenge. He told us early enough and we accepted it. We had time to prepare that and that's what we did."

Carvalho
QUOTE
“He’s a technical player, he’s incredibly creative and we will have a lot of fun with him, definitely.

“Fabio last night was OK, but he can be much better. We need all these kinds of things. He’s an open young man, top addition for us.”

Firmino
QUOTE
“Bobby is crucial for us. Bobby is the heart and soul of this team,” Klopp said.

“The way we played in the last few years was only possible because of Bobby and that’s why I’m really happy that he could train the majority of pre-season so far.

“Everything looks really good, I’m absolutely fine. For me, there’s no doubt about his quality.

“All the rest, we will see how this year goes. But yes, he is essential for us.”

Liverpool's pre-season has never been pretty every season. The real business is into the new season, domestic challenge, European tournaments etc. Not particularly worried now. I might be worried if the sort of performance happens during Winter period.

based on this...im guessing Nunez wont be starting vs Fulham...
his first touch in last game wasnt great... maybe got tired too fast leading to errors...
i would expect his first start will come in the 3rd game... vs MU 😈

QUOTE
It is understood Liverpool will take on Aston Villa in a private match at Anfield with both managers keen to bring up the match fitness of several who are unlikely to feature in either of the clubs' opening games the day before, as per @LivEchoLFC

Villa travel to Bournemouth for a 3pm kick-off on August 6 but will have a contingent on Merseyside for the friendly the following day as both Steven Gerrard and Jurgen Klopp feel it necessary to extend the pre-season schedule into the campaign itself, as per @LivEchoLFC

You guys might not like my comment and I am being a lil bit of negative here.

But so far Nunez still doesn't proven anything to me, his overall performance. Not a single one is impressive. Yes I know this is just the pre-season, and he just joined the team not long ago. Really hoping he is not just a fluke, but really able to gel with the team asap and scoring for fun.
On the other hand, Fabio Carvalho already showing a glimpse of his potential. His future is bright as long as he remain injury free.

Yes im quite worried, hes kinda technically limited and the price tag is gonna weight him down further if he didnt provide results soon

Not a first 11 material but can be used for option B when we go all out attacking

Understand your concerns. Actually in 10 EPL appearances or half a season we will have some idea if this guy can make it or not.

I rmb Thiago had a pretty rough debut season with us but i'm always impressed with how he dictates the play and passing creativity/vision, ppl were questioning whether if he fits into gegenpress but never his ability.

Technically limited or bad first touch has got nothing to do with the team. So far i can see the team is adjusting the play so hard to make him works. I really hope Klopp could find a way to fit in Nunez, afterall it's big money and we couldn't afford to waste it.

*
I only watched him properly in last friendly match, ngl he can't really beat defender, his dribbling is average. Big difference with Mo in that area. Currently his strength obviously his finishing. If he can be relied on banging goals, other aspect may not be of immediate concern. He has age on his side.

Community Shield
Sadio Mane
Carvalho
Firmino

Klopp tried his best to stress importance of community shield. But the message I'm getting is that we need to focus on preseason preparation. When is the last time we still play pre season after the season started....

Frustrating really. Took a shot in pre-season friendly and serious hamstring injury. Now sell him also cannot.

So will Klopp buy a new midfield now? tongue.gif

Ox will be out until October/November, our backup options especially for cup games got weakened again. IMO, his career at liv is as good as over, leaving as free agent next summer for sure. Waste of squad space man.

Btw i'm ready for Community Shield at 12am guys, let's gooo!

+1. It’s not negative.

It’s basically interpreting what u see, and not influenced by those BS like “ Klopp wants him, so he must be good”
His price tag will def come with huge expectation, let’s see if he can live up to the hype.

Agreed with Adrian. Funny thing is, he won us a couple of cups already. Hahaha.

Haaland is still new to City system. I think he will get better (hopefully never!). Darwin really put his heart in this game as a way to prove himself in front of fans. He got it today and hopefully this will the catalyst.

It's just as laughable as the ones judging Nunez from a preseason performance. They're both good players, and I would say Haaland is the better player as he is further along his development than Nunez is right now.

Comparisons between the two will be inevitable throughout the season and it's dumb because Haaland will be their main scorer while Salah will still be for us, not Nunez.

Both Nunez and Haaland still try to settle in the team. This does not help when both team previously always play strikerless formation (aka false 9). Suddenly both team now need to change tactic to play with a real striker, a no. 9 type forward.

Once Haaland settle in the team, he still start banging goal for fun.

Of course bitter, Lukaku keluar pattern at Chelsea and flop at Manu. And for some reason, Arsenal fans this season seem happy and motivated by their transfer activities.

Throughout the season, people gonna put spotlight at Nunez and Haaland, and direct compare to Lukaku. As for us, some of us still traumatised with big Andy.

Can refer above YouTube.

But to me, from layman view, he offers different threat compared to firmino when he came on. And city defends strugggled to content him. And also his header which lead to penalty, was during 1-1 scoreline, so I'm not sure whether at that moment city was all out. But it looks like city caught off guard with his aireal ability.

Klopp's pre-match press conference vs Fulham:

Fulham
QUOTE
"Fulham did extremely well last season. Getting promoted by playing 'football' is one of the hardest things to do in this Championship. All my respect. A really good team. Fabio was important for them. Harry Wilson is too."

QUOTE
"In the week I always read about the other team and they have a few issues to solve in the market. It's away, Fulham will be tough. I am happy we played the City game as it gave a hint as to where we are."

Injury situation
QUOTE
“We have too many injuries, that’s true, but in the moment, nothing has changed,” Klopp told reporters. “A lot of unlucky situations. It started with Caoimhin, it started with Diogo. One was injured, the other got re-injured. It’s not 100% clear when, there is no criticism.

“Both were with the international team, there is a diagnosis. We get the diagnosis, we trust the diagnosis. But you are not in the full process all the time, the national team takes over in moments and we try to step in as early as possible. Caoimhin is still a few weeks away.

“For Diogo, it was slightly too early or the injury was different in the first place. In a few weeks’ time they will be back but they weren’t in pre-season, which is not cool. Ibou, in a challenge in the game against Strasbourg. What happened there, we have to see how long it’ll take but he’s out for a while.

“We hope with Curtis we caught it in the right moment. It’s how it is with young players. They have stress reactions some time and they go over it. There’s not massive pain but it could lead to something serious. We caught it early but we still have to be careful. He’s not in.

“Oxlade of course, it’s not cool. We cannot sort a problem we have for four weeks with a transfer for a full year. That makes, in the moment at least, no sense for us. But the transfer window is still open, so we will see. But the plan won’t go in that direction.”

QUOTE
“Kostas was unlucky in a training situation,” he said. “I just saw him now out on the pitch. He might be, in his opinion anyway, he might be ready to train next week which is helpful.

“Ali is fine. Naby’s ill. I think he will be back today, the first day. I underestimated it a little bit, I said he’d be fine. He came yesterday and still had some little symptoms. Not Covid but not right. I guess he will be back today.”

Carvalho
QUOTE
"He is a top player, a massive talent. He'll be very important for us. We count on this age group as well. He's ready like Harvey is ready. That's really cool. We all need luck in life with injuries but without that he'll be a top player for us."

Jota
QUOTE
"Top, top, top. Real commitment to the club, he's not even close to his [top level]. Really good news for the club [to sign the contract]. Good news for him too. It's good having him around, he's a character early in his life. He knows what to do to be successful."

Phillip transfer stance after Konate injury
QUOTE
“Yeah, probably,” he said when asked if he would now need to retain Phillips.

“It will influence the transfers, yeah. Outgoing transfers, I would say.”

Nunez
QUOTE
"Darwin is ready. He needs time to get used to a lot of things but is already a big help."

QUOTE
"Darwin is ready but that doesn't mean he has to start. He needs time to get used to a lot of things but he's already a real help. It was a proper pre-season training session for him. He said he was nervous early on. Normal. He's settled quickly. Feels at home."

QUOTE
"[Nunez and Firmino] are different players, they get on. They are both from South America, both offensive players but different positions. Bobby is an exceptional player. His own way of playing football. As a person, yes, [you can learn] but as a player, not sure."

While Kostas is out, milner has to be cover for both left and right back. Midfield area not as critical.

But their right back who already on yellow elbowing Diaz face, ref really has to be brave

This is normal actually. We have been playing newly promoted team a few season now for our first game. Those teams normally will start with high spirit to prove a point. They are not afraid of being aggressive knowing it is still early in the season with not many games to play compared with us. That is why they willing to make bone snipping tackles

As much as I like firminho, he doesn't suit the way we play anymore. He comes deep to get the ball. That drags a defender out of position so our attackers can overwhelm the defense. We played like this 2 seasons ago. Now we attack from the wide positions 90% of the time. Firminho rarely gets the ball yet comes deep anyway. And no defenders are marking him anymore so the defence is still strong. The opponents have found out and its no use to play like this anymore imho.

Agree. Darwin should be starting as soon as Klopp thinks he's ready. I'm sure if Jota wasnt injured then Bobby won't be starting.
Salah is also very isolated and maybe that will be a template for other teams as well.
Thiago for me has also been over-elaborating when a simple pass to the nearest red would've suffice. The Fulham players swarm him as soon as he delayed to spot free players.

Whattttt. He just threw himself down and the ref bought it. This ref is very bad.

Actually I hope he come to anfield because he's so easily influenceable by the home crowd.

Well as long as he contributed to the goal.
The ball did flick off the defenders head from the cross.

Much more contribution than Bobby for 50-60mins.

Safe to say we deserved that result cos we couldnt get a hold on the game all day long, the boys didnt settled well and got rocked by fulham aggresiveness.

Also suddenly our squad is depleted with injury lol, what a bad luck

Nunez did great today, the only complain I have for him is whenever someone pass the ball to him, he will stand there wait for the ball to reach him, instead of moving infront to receive it. Many times the ball was intercepted because he standing there.

Forget midfields, we will bring in Mitrovic next.

Not much to say about the pen, Mitrovic looked for it and got it. It's a case of "clear and obvious error" for VAR to overturn the ref decision. So if the ref hadn't give it, VAR wouldn't have overturned that either.
Foul on Hendo should've been called though. And curious why VAR didn't overturn that since the replays did show a stamp on Hendo's left foot.
I guess come the end of the season, we will see 2 points more given to us in the "How did VAR affect each team" table.

Why is everyone acting surprise with the injuries lel

Oh luckily we have a great depth in midfield as cover. All I need is just one guy to claim 17 yr old Bajectic is a reliable cover to complete my day

This is gonna be a long seasonnnnn

BTW out topic a bit, i'm wondering what is Haaland sprinting speed, he looks as fast as mane and salah given his physical build. I will be crying for mummy if i stand in front him watching a top speed lorry bang into me. Not sure if nunez was that fast.

As usual la, last time they chased Sancho like crazy also

This English herd mentality and Liverpool are inseparable, and that’s because a huge part of our successful eras were build on that foundation and ethos.

But that’s in 70s and 80s. Football has changed a lot since then. The game has opened up.

Of course the homegrown rule also pay a huge factor. if Scousers had their ways, they would have 11 Scousers on the pitch. Everyone know how local sentiments has an overbearing effect on the club day to day affairs.

In my honest opinion, English talents should groomed internally and not purchased at premium price. Liverpool academy is probably one of the poorest among the top flight clubs.

Exactly. No point being prudent if we keep being second best at everything.
On other note, Timo Werner went back to RB Leipzig. If he was patient back then and came to Liverpool, I'm sure he'll do better than his time at Chelsea. I remember Klopp admired him.

You must be one of the FSG plotektor! For all that matters, we should sign all midfielders available. Let's start with de jong and Rabiot.

If we dont sign a new midfielder by end of transfer window, #FSGOUT

Mind you, some passion merchants are happy being “second best”.

They will bring up the dark days under Woy Hogdson and then tells u to be grateful that the team is competing with Pep’s crude oil powered machine.

Oh they are definitely happy. Even 30 yrs without title also happy. Shanks set a high bar for this club, only for passion merchants to bring it down to the ground.

Klopp's pre-match press conference vs Crystal Palace:

Squad injuries
QUOTE
I'm happy with the strength and quality of my squad. But we have injuries, that's how it is. The question is how long the players are out and there are different solutions.

“One of them is the transfer market, which only makes sense if you can bring in the right player.

“If you bring in the right player it would make sense. We would have done that from the first day of the transfer window.

“If there would be the right player and there would be an opportunity, but I don’t see it because we had a lot of conversations already and it doesn’t look like something will happen.

“I understand the question (about new signings) but I don’t understand it as well. Because if there was the right solution we would have done it already, we are not stubborn.”

Tsimikas & Keita return
QUOTE
“A couple of boys are coming back. Naby will be back for Monday and Kostas will train today for the first time, so he might be back as well.”

Thiago
QUOTE
“Thiago is good, but the injury is not good,” he told reporters.

“The timeframe? I read four to six weeks! I would prefer four. We’ll see.”

Firmino
QUOTE
Very important. If we take now our last game against Fulham, we didn't find Bobby properly because the centre was very often blocked. That's why it was difficult for him. Apart from that, I don't judge Bobby after one game.

Elliot
QUOTE
“He always is,” Klopp said when asked if Elliott was an option to start.

“A fantastic boy, super player, came on and had a real impact [against Fulham]. Of course [he is in contention].”

He later explained: “Harvey played already at an incredible level, got injured, that’s it pretty much.

“Does he have to step up? Yeah, but like all the others as well.”

Salah & Nunez
QUOTE
It's a good partnership. It's two players who are determined to score and be in desicive areas. It's very helpful. Mo's in a really good moment and Darwin is settling in. This department was not our problem last weekend.

Last week "Attitude" comment
QUOTE
“My English, I’m not sure it’s the right thing,” he said.

“I didn’t like the start at all. I saw then the attitude to fight back, but that’s a different thing. It took too long in this game.

“We really didn’t play a good game – and still could have scored more goals!

“If I make now a big fuss of it, imagine that, that would be strange as well.

“We try to make sure that we are ready for this game. We were ready more often than not.”

De gea does look suspicious...

Anyway I was thinking... Some managers are happy to bring their former players with them. While klopp seems the opposite...
Although most of klopp former players are already old, passed their prime, player like gundogan still have like 2-3 years in them...
But i guess with klopp own policy.... It will not even be considered

It makes sense to me. If you're manager stepping up in clubs, you either do that because you want to work with the class players in the new club, or you feel that a bigger club can take your philosophy to the next stage. So, its not surprising if he doesnt want to manage another dortmund at liverpool.

But hor, i rmb last time he wanted gundogan, but gundogan went for more money. And it feels like klopp never goes back to players that has rejected him.

They are organising an empty stadium campaign, could be auto 3 points for us for just turning up

Jokes aside, mad respect to Man U fans for upping the chips against Glazers. If only our own fanbase have the same

There won’t be game Lel

They are organising an empty stadium campaign, could be auto 3 points for us for just turning up

Jokes aside, mad respect to Man U fans for upping the chips against Glazers. If only our own fanbase have the same
conviction to do what is right against the blardy FSG!

Wont happen as long as Klopp is here, he is the genius that can utilise the puny fund provided by FSG. Good luck to the future manager when Klopp retire.

Anyway, this makes me ponder that, will we achieve quadruple if Klopp had more funds to splash? Which I think the possibilities is very high.

Klopp has appeared to rule out the club dipping into the transfer market for midfield reinforcements.

"If there was the right player and an opportunity, we would have done it, we would do it, but I don't see it because we had a lot of conversations already and it doesn't look like something will happen," he said.

"I'm happy with the strength, size and quality of my squad but we have injuries. There are plenty of solutions for it. One of them is the transfer market, but that only makes sense if you can bring in the right player.

"All the other solutions are inside the squad. We have too many injuries, that's clear. Naby will be back for Monday and Kostas (Tsimikas) will train today for the first time so he might be back as well."

So we can scratched that on Matheus Nunes rumours, so this is Liverpool we wont splash the cash just for the sake of buying during transfer window.

If this goes on, we might have a hard time finishing top 4. Liverpool are so easy to play, just defend with 10 ppl and counter, at least will get a goal or two.

I am pretty sure the coach and the teammate must have told Nunez about EPL provocation. Yet his anger still get over his head. If he were to face Robertson every game, he would be getting red card every game.
Apart from the red card, right after we concede the first goal, his expression already turned sour and trying to shoot from an nearly impossible long range. doh.gif

Don't think we ever have a proper squad depth. Unless you are viewing Liverpool as a team that "trying" to win something.

Liverpool is a team that challenging for the quadruple, our squad depth is a joke lol.

I think most if not all EPL teams have found out the way to counter Liverpool's play. And from what I see, unlike Pep's City, Klopp's Liverpool have only 1 type of game plan - so Liverpool can only win when the game plan is almost 100% perfect. If Liverpool play less than 95%, others team can counter what Liverpool has to offer. Hence while we're only 2 games into the season, it seems like Liverpool already have faced the wall.

I think it's the weakness of Klopp - it's his style not to have too much first teamers on the bench and be contend with what he already had - similar to his way at Dortmund. Unlike Pep who's more comfortable with having first teamers sit on the bench doing nothing most of the season.

Klopp is the number one company man in the world

There’s a reason why he lost so many finals in his career

Not to say he is a bad manager, but he lacked the ruthlessness of Mourinho or Pep. It’s a pity coz I like this bloke, but his sentiments and loyalty towards certain players is wasting the golden years of his squad.

Such pity, he could have build a dynasty in Liverpool, but taking shit for FSG will eventually cost him his legacy in LFC, just like how Wenger was at Arsenal

This obviously well known dy, any PL team will drop deep against us & solely rely on counter attack, Klopp hated when opponent team doesnt play like he desired, & this give us a problems.

I'm not an expert in football whatsoever, but I don't think having a slightly different mould of a striker in your team is enough to call it plan B.. and TBH I don't see any difference in the style of play now compared to before when Nunez isn't in Liverpool.

My sentiments exactly. What you've mentioned probably sums up why Klopp has always fallen short of Pep in the fight for the EPL. Our pre-match preparations have been drilled into the players for that game, and if it doesn't work, we get drab draws like these. Just like how we lost to RM in the Champions League last season too.

Although it's just the 1st two games, hard to tell how the season will go, (like last season we thought gone case, yet we pushed Man City to the last game) , but the injury list is dampening our title ambitions. Hopefully we can break the curse of not getting consecutive years of winning silverware under Klopp. I think we have enough firepower to defend our domestic cups, as cup games are later & we should have adapted by then. nod.gif

The loss of Mane is felt, as Nunez is still finding his way around the EPL. I still think we paid too much for this guy, though. shakehead.gif

With our team lack of form, hard to tell if we can beat Man Utd at their turf. Ten Hag had a rough start, but I remember Conte had a tough time at Chelsea at first, before winning the EPL that same season. unsure.gif

Klopp's pre-match press conference vs Manchester United:

Firmino
QUOTE
"Bobby has trained completely normally and is ready."

Darwin Nunez
QUOTE
"Of course we spoke to Darwin," Klopp told his pre-Manchester United press conference. "The reaction is like it is in these situations, he was very disappointed with himself that it happened.

"We spoke to him, the things the centre-half did, he won't be the only player in the world to do these kind of things (to Nunez). If somebody makes a mistake and you tell them 'you should not to do it' - (the response) 'yeah I know'.

"It's about emotions, it's about all these kinds of things. We never had a situation like this before (while I'm here) that's why I'm not an expert in these talks as I don't have them that often.

"It was that obvious he knew anyway. He apologised, which is absolutely fine. We told him it's not necessary to walk through the building with his head down and miserable because it happened, we are human beings and we will make mistakes in our lives.

"You have to carry on and if you don't do it again then it's all fine. If it happens once then it's okay."

Naby Keita
QUOTE
“It’s really funny when I have to respond on ‘news’, because what you would learn if you sat on my side of the table is how often 0.0 [percent truth] is behind ‘news’,” he explained.

“So you think, ‘oh, what can I believe at all?’. Nothing, absolutely nothing.

“Naby was ill for a week, last week on the bench, been in training, looks really good, all fine.

“[He is] not a player who is overly happy when he is not playing, but it should not be so.

“It’s completely fine, nobody came to me and asked me anything about that.”

Jota & Jones
QUOTE
“Getting closer, but not [ready for Monday]. No chance for it.

“Ask after the game again, but no chance for this game.”

Gomez
QUOTE
"It's an opportunity for [Gomez]," he said. "He only came back to team training on Sunday from a little issue. We have to defend Palace goal in another position. A big opportunity, he looks great."

Why is the first 2 games draw related to the depth? We are playing with full team in both matches. Its obvious the reason we draw is cos we didnt play well enough, especially the first game. The 2nd game, we able to rescue a point with 10 man down.

Since when did I relate the first two games to our depth. I am just saying our squad depth is not good enough. With the new 5 sub rule. Your bench is as important as your first 11. Everyone around us is improving their squad, not to say we did not but we could do a lot better.

Great point. With new 5 sub rule, obviously the ones who will reap this benefit the most are the ones with a great bench. Meanwhile we are still starting Milner and Hendo in the main engine room.

And If they don’t work out, who do we have at the bench? Ox? Or some random teen from the academy? Lol.

What a shitshow from FSG year in year out on transfers. If we have Glazers we would won the quad last year. Willing to die on this hill. Keep buying that that baloney #Bellingham2023

Not sure it's about depth or not. But I think when van dijk had to partner with 3rd and fourth choice at the back (Phillips), due to matip and konate not available, that significantly increases probability to concede...

Kaboom. Thank the heavens we can finally end this Nonsense about whether Klopp doesn’t any signings or not. He is indirectly calling out the owners now.

Let’s hear what the IKWT brigade has to say, will they continue to trust Klopp or will now turn on Klopp due to their love for FSG.

It has to do with our RCM. When fabinho available, hendo usually cover RCM and helped out TAA. Today TAA has to vs 2 to 3 MU players w/o any midfield help, and it's clear MU challenging TAA side.

If we are gonna play like this, then let’s go all out and get thrashed. Tomorrow put truckloads of pressure on the owner to spend more money. I mean look at our bench, we can sub in 5 players now but how many of them on our bench can really come in and make a difference.

3 games 2 points.

Injuries not doing us good, asking for 5 subs rules but nobody to sub in.

We could definitely do better this transfer window other than bringing in kids for the future.

EDIT: Tactical wise, i'm not sure what else Klopp can do, against MU 4231 we clearly struggling.

Ive seen the light bruv...Im on #fsgout bandwagon, every season we face the same issues, lack of depth and injuries all around, and the fucking midfield that we have been complaining all these years. Hendo and Millie shud be back up option not starters anymore.

We sold off half of our attacking forces and replacing them with unproven youngsters and expect klopp to do miracles.

Come january we will probably get back on track after klopp miracles and fsg will probably buy one player (after selling keita) to paper over the cracks.

Give Klopp a transfer budget or just watch man city bulldoze the league

If we had enough funding and quality squad depth, we would have gotten our quadruple. And we could brag for a few decades. Now we are back to square one, because Klopp magic has its limits, and such luck will not come again.

Never a fans of FSG, Klopp is just a yes man thats why he stayed with us for so long. But he is a yes man which can perform magic. Good luck to the next manager when Klopp retire. Lulz

FSG is not winner but profit business.
Everyone is reinforce players. Don't tell me Kloop doesn't know how depth is our team. We just keep pushing ourself to limit.
We need some fresh pair of leg in the middle.
If not mistaken last time we also same after double then next season like lost energy liao.

This year is not our year, we're back like last 2-3 season where unavailability to most key players.

Klopp said he fell down in training lol

I think we are about to sell him.

But good for him to go somewhere else where he is appreciated.

Not surprising. We have one of the smallest squad in epl so players were ran to the ground by Klopp in all four competitions.

Meanwhile other rivals are strengthening and reinforcing their squad year after after and here we are, sitting still, harping about past glory and our runner up achievements….

“ this squad won The league and CL in the past, give your head a wobble if you think we are not good enough”

Harlo, they are humans, not robots. Injuries and drop of form will bite every player. And there’s age factor. Supporters really need to get a reality check.

FSG really loves Klopp because he doesn't demand like Pep (or any other top team managers that fight for titles and cups), but I think most here sees that Klopp has started to run out of magic. I think when Klopp retires, FSG will try to sell Liverpool lol

If FSG is smart they will sell LFC now, when the club is at its peak value.

If they wait any longer, especially when the squad and performance are deteriorating, that’s when the club value starts to fall.

These leeches have made enough money to last them for generations so yea, we have outgrown them, it’s time to sell it to someone who cares or else it’s gonna get ugly.

Surely even the staunchest FSG hardliner in here will revolt against them. Better late than never.

“We can talk about tactical but it is all about attitude. There was communication and a fighting spirit,” - Ten Hag

I kinda agree, that's the main difference for today game. And that's what made us great for the past few seasons. From our 3 opening games, i don't see any urgency, or hunger for win from our players. It seems like they took everything for granted.

Perhaps all of them already won all possible trophies in EPL, nothing to fight for anymore, time to reshuffle the squad. Oh wait......

Yeah finally got the chance to watch highlight. Our defending for the goal really laughable, at the back and also in midfield.

And no, mane will not solve our problem. People tend to forget his frustrating moments when playing for us. The fact is every players will have up and down moments.

I have mentioned in my previous post. I wasn't confident of the lads winning against Man Utd, because we had been very inconsistent.

What's more perplexing is fielding Milner in starting 11. shakehead.gif

While it's an embarassing defeat, and Klopp's poor record vs Ten Hag continues, what's more important is to learn from these 3 games & strive to play better. nod.gif But, 1 draw + 1 defeat within the next 5 games means we killed our EPL hopes off. bye.gif

It's still early stages of the EPL now, although Arsenal winning the EPL would be a nice change instead of the usual City, Chelsea, Man Utd, us.

No offense bro, those two sites, although they are reliable, but they are tightly regulated by the club sources

Most of the time they put promote FSG propagandas

Even English journos like James Pearce, Melissa Reddy and Ian Doyle also cannot be trusted

For transfer scoops, to be Frank, from what I experience, the first light of news usually come from foreign journos. English media is slow af

Mo Chatra is credible. You can find his tweets and he has the breakdown of the financial sstatement of LFC every year.

No Sentimental shit or biased reporting from him.

Klopp's pre-match press conference vs Bournemouth:

Klopp spoken to Liverpool team about all aspects since United defeat.
QUOTE
"We respect [the United] result. We had chances and they blocked them with all they had. We didn't have that and that's what we have to involve in our game. It's done and dusted. The situation isn't what we wanted but it's a challenge, I like it. We have to fight back."

Looking to move forward with two home games.
QUOTE
Now we play at home twice and we understand the situation. I have a good sense our people understand the situation as well and I can't wait to create a special Anfield atmosphere together

No injured players returning for the weekend, but Thiago, Curtis Jones and Joel Matip not far away.
QUOTE
“This weekend probably not, but after that Joel, Curtis [likely to be back] and Thiago [is] not too far away.

“Diogo is getting closer, Caoimh will be in training next week. Positive news but don’t think anybody will be ready for tomorrow.”

Did not rule out adding to his squad before the end of the transfer window. Says they are working on things.
QUOTE
“I don’t know. You can imagine, we are working constantly on these kind of things,”

“We spoke about reasons why sometimes it is not happening, sometimes too expensive, sometimes not the right player.

“But then situations change, but one thing stays important; it needs to be the right player.

“We are working, but we will see if something will happen or not. I don’t know.”

He later added: “It has to be the right player. Having injuries doesn’t change that, the right player has to be available, and that remains. We have to be 100 percent convinced.”

Naby Keita has muscle issue but not totally clear. Won't be involved this weekend.
QUOTE
“Naby will not be ready for the weekend, of course not,” Klopp said.

“We still need to look exactly how long it will take. It’s a muscle [injury]. Still not 100 percent clear, but he will not be in for the next week.”

Klopp wants clean sheets.
QUOTE
“We have to improve, so we can improve effort immediately,” he said.

“It was maybe 95 but we need 100 percent.

“It’s all football things and we have the football solutions for it. The things we achieved were never easy, so no-one should expect it’s easy now. Let’s go for it together.

“We need to give Ali the chance for a clean sheet he cannot do it alone, so we have to defend better. And then attack better, everyone is responsible for everything. This start looks difficult but it’s not impossible.

“One of the main rules we had is everybody is responsible for everything. Nobody is out of responsibility when we defend or attack.”
