Good night Manchester. Blunt stick without even a handle. Let it burn and we rise from League 1 ashes la. Too broken for anyone to accept at the current state. Way too many excuses being offered. No responsibility taken. Can try blame Ole or Jose or “last season” if it fits, but fact is, if it smells like shit, tastes like shit and looks like shit it is shit.
Looking forward to the next game. Like I said all I personally want is to avoid defeat to MC and Liverpool it should be enough to shut my friends mouths because they are not considering MUFC as legitimate opponents. |

When you have 2 opposition players (McFred) whom you will NOT need to press, and that in the middle of the pitch because they suck so hard they will lose the ball anyway, you are then free of another 4 players to execute your own plans.
A manager who doesn't see this is not worth his salary. I think ETH sees this but there nothing much he can do, so his job scope is just to do what he can. Look at his excuse of saying the players lacked belief. Its your job to instill belief dude. And now he's saying we are lacking fit strikers. Well you KNEW bloody well in advance we are lacking strikers even when every damn striker is fit, so its no point trying to say the obvious. What is more important is what are you going to do about it. Perhaps just bring in Garnacho la. I know, we are very angry and every thing coming out of our mouth is straight from the heart. But damn if you do this again we'll just ignore to keep our selves at peace. What an untenable job. But you are all well paid. |

Put it this way, we have replaced our manager which is critical, and anyone including Ted Lasso can be hired to do this job.
Other than that we are using pretty much the EXACT SAME PLAYERS who caused countless managers to get the sack. Except we lost some of the talented ones too (like Pog and Matic, Lukaku). To expect anything other than similar results is to expect a miracle. And now we have no striker. I think every fan is seeing this but only can be dismayed. |

QUOTE(aaron1717 @ Aug 9 2022, 12:05 PM) actually i feel the players playing better and fitter (except maguire).. but the strategy is wrong with the placement of the players... hence make it looks like everything is so wrong... the wrong part is maguire who slow jog all the time and mcfred who is not really ready to control the midfield with ETH's style... second half when we switch erikssen to midfield, the control can be seen differently... But, we switch tactics ONLY after 0-2 down. You can also argue that by then Brighton also slow down or adapt to any changes we might introduce. In other words, it is fine to switch off your TV at 0-2 down, expect MU to try something, maybe they will get 1 back maybe 2 and on a wondrous day get 3 back. Does not change the fact ETH spent 4 months orchestrating this first 45mins and showing piss all performance by our top British talents. The damage already done. Just limitation mode to prevent 0-3 or worse. It would be a different story if we started Eriksen in Midfield at 0-0, got something out of it. But we won't / can't because we lacked a fit striker, that the well run club neglect to fill up. What really goes on in ETH mind? Take salary, say the right things and move on? I also want to have a shot at this. I only ask for 20k per week. Can fire me anytime after 100k signing on bonus. Guarantee won't be worse than 0-2 in 45mins at OT. Even if happen I promise to go full defensive mode and won't be 0-3. Who is really in charge of the first 25 la......Can we have his address to send some wine and beer. |

QUOTE(IpohGuyz @ Aug 9 2022, 12:45 PM) I dun believe eth is this. Rr yes lol. Ralf says we need to sell 10 and buy 10. He also says how the board blocked his January transfer plans. Rio put up his preferred line up. I think is good too. Martinez as cdm. Eriksen Bruno. Sancho Ronaldo Rashford. If I bersangka baik, I think ETh convinced the management that our players all top talent and can win something without having to spend money or that the so called buy ONLY the one or two that is targeted. This would be music to Glazer’s ears and so will easily get hired. Now time to show the magic. He needs to convince the players they are that, and it looks like our captain is not convinced at all. Honestly although Eriksen is a decent buy it reeks of poor planning la. We could’ve signed him after season ended but still dragged the stuff till after preseason tour. To me is just a 7-11 option. Again who is planning all this? IpohGuyz liked this post

I personally prefer my witch hunts to be done early. Why wait till the horses have bolted, till the cows have come home etc?
That does not mean I am already waving my pitchforks etc. Cannot accept criticism then don't come to the game, don't draw those 7-8 figure salaries. We want the best, we want them to succeed. But in the mean time it has to make sense. Klopp first season 8th? He came in after season began no? Zero input into transfer, zero pre-season. One could say negative. Then second season onwards. He also signed who he wanted, sold who didn't need. So far transfer activity in MUFC closer to zero (Lisandro being the exception). I have no faith, and there is nothing much to convince me otherwise. I am seeing exact same things that cause managers to be fired. Hopefully he is smart enough to make changes. |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Aug 9 2022, 01:37 PM) yes you already pointed out the problem Let me make it clear.you have no faith and you prefer to witch hunt early ... but what is early? 1st game? you could say he fielded pretty much the same individuals in the past, but do consider ETH tried to implement different play style with some players in different position or role. and as we all know, it backfired ... but is it the exact same things down to the tee? I'm not so sure .. it's only 1st game (not even full half) because ETH tweak the formation and players in the 2nd half... p/s: Giving adequate support and time to manager is not blind faith. I am not calling for his head. In the end he will be sacked based on what comes out not by whether or not I call for his head anyway. Faith - I lack it so severely because I SEE NO DIFFERENCE AT ALL, from the 45mins which we surrendered. We have 2 different players but we are failing in the same ways - No organized pressing up. Surrender possession, take too long on the ball. Maguire way up in midfield when he need to defend. Full backs nowhere to be seen in both goals conceded. The other CB scrambling and tackling like mad because he has to play both attackers. Away team camping at our Penalty box like they are home. Us creating zero chances because we like to long ball when its time to play it on the ground. So, yes I support the manager in the sense that I don't support to fire him after this one game. But I don't support doing the same thing and expecting different results. |

Where is that dude who got all the insider info on who’s coming and how hard Dick Arnold / John Murtough are working day and night 9am to 10pm to ensure we dont overpay for any deal? Well run club etc. I remember got saying we can even sell some clubs and some property or something to fund anything
And that money is there just we need to support the managers choice and selection etc? Can’t we face the fact that we are now beggars. Since we ARE beggars I’m guessing Glazers can be finally knocked off. |

QUOTE(Winter-3 @ Aug 10 2022, 12:58 AM) Does anyone see that Maguire likes to step forward, as if to "help" Fred, thus leaving space in behind him for opposition striker to run off him? When he does this, Lisandro has to cover the space he vacated, and it dragged Shaw over to cover for Lisandro, and 2 v 1 will happen on Shaw side. He did that a lot last season and again against Brighton. Someone should tell Maguire to stop doing that. QUOTE(zhou.xingxing @ Aug 10 2022, 08:37 AM) someone just tell the manager to stop playing and and the club to sell/release that fridge. Thank God I am not the only one seeing this. If there is a stat for positioning Kapitan gets -5 out of 20. And if there is a stat for pace, he is around 1/20. I am 40, have a busted knee and I haven't run for 5 years. I bet I can take him on anytime, anywhere. Heck I bet my 94 year old grandma beat him in a 20m dash.he has been doing it since day 1. leaving his partner (previously lindelof) exposed. then the english media go says need change maguire partner but not maguire QUOTE(IpohGuyz @ Aug 10 2022, 02:33 AM) I've not had the pleasure of seeing Herr Beckenbauer play, but I can simply bet my right nut, that a god-like sweeper does NOT leave the line when being attacked. Instead he is the LAST man who brings out the ball. Lets not soil the sweeper role with the Fridge's horrible impersonation.QUOTE(Purpleheaven @ Aug 10 2022, 08:56 AM) I've mentioned this before. Maguire is a decent centre back. He is strong, dominant in the air and very physical. What he isn't, is fast or have good positioning. So, to play to his strength, stick him in the back, let him handle crosses into the box, especially since ddg dont come out and claim very often. But instead, he plays like he's very adept at a high line. You can see if varane or martinez fail to intercept early, they often can sprint back and at least throw off the attacker. But when maguire fail his interception, you'll never see him near any threatening attacker for the rest of the attack. I would blame this on the manager set up, but i dunno why change manager but still same style. Maybe they are seeing something we aren't. He's a half working CB if he just only focus on defending. But don't forget his tendency to mark his own team mates, tackle them, scorpion sting them and defeat the team's own offside trap by staying TOO LOW.So, now the question we should ask or the journalists who have access to Erik should ask every damn week is why is Fridge playing? What is his role? What justify your salary in picking him? Why or how should the fans support the manager who does this? Should we switch off for 5 years while waiting for this rebuild? Surely he retires by then, no matter how well or not he plays. |

QUOTE(orga_laut @ Aug 10 2022, 03:38 PM) yes, he should be sacked. So you are so graceful to wait for Murtough to actually use every single day of the remaining transfer window to secure the FDJ fella.? What if he end up with nothing? We eat dust?but again, this is his first time taking up this role. a noob. a $hit noob. i will give him a chance if we get de jong. else, i would like to see him got sacked and replaced with ralf rangnick. please. please oh please sack him and replace with rangnick. This joker already got enough time, there is none left to waste. What is it that gives anyone the impression that he will pull this off? I have not seen any indication whatsoever. |

How is signing FDJ an A, even if he came 2 months ago?
1. He has insisted it was a childhood dream to play for Barca (ever since there was news of our interest). 2. He is a reject / surplus in a team of pretty average players for Barca season 2021. 3. They won nothing, he contributed averagely last season. 4. Physically this guy going to get battered. 5. Only + is he is perhaps ETH's favourite player for the position (Both of them are unproven, so a B maybe), so like a good fit kind of thing. 6. VDB, another ETH CAPTAIN is doing nothing. 7. Anyone is better than McFred today, even Fridge does a bit better there (as he often likes to show by moving up). |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Aug 11 2022, 12:41 PM) some ppl like very high and mighty With me, you can call me out directly, I'm fine.labelling players as reject because other clubs willing to sell / not in plan / bla bla bla reasons like playing out of position, not properly utilised to the strengths, etc any player can be a good player if he can fit into play style and flourish/produce good performance display we have seen many "non-reject" signings turned into terrible players too, like Sanchez, Pogba, Di Maria Even Henry was like kind of a reject in Juventus (play in LW and normal/mediocre performance) before the move to Highbury ... Jury already out even before start to join/play .. smh I like to say call a spade a spade. Its me, no need to say some ppl. I'm sorry to Mr. De Jong if he feels slighted that I call him a reject. Surely he can kick my butt in a football match. But I call him a reject because he is one. What else would you call a player who is surplus to requirements after having arrived at the club of his own dreams? Can't be call him a highly prized personnel. I can accept the further points that there are reasons for being reject, but it changes not a bit that he is one. I also acknowledge he is far from a broken player who cannot kick a round ball. I also concede someone's rubbish is another one's treasure, hence, I never say he is not welcome. I already say he is likely to be an "upgrade" to what we have, but to say our problems end with this one player arriving....Or to give our transfer team ANY accolade / plaudits for delivering his signature after all this nonsense.....is blah. Another thing Sanchez, Di Maria both are rejects. No matter how you imagine it came to be, both their teams were very very happy to be offloaded of those 2. Unwanted by their clubs. So its actually another point on the side of not trying to sign players who have "high rating" but are not so wanted by their teams. Pogba was not, we paid through the teeth because both teams wanted him. Lastly - Henry was 22 when he was rejected by Juve. Obviously it is the wrong decision to do so now, but he was 22. He obviously had a lot of development ahead of him. Now our prized Frenkie is 25, he should be easily considered finished article or at least close to. Imagine signing Henry at 25. Surely big difference. This post has been edited by lee82gx: Aug 11 2022, 01:28 PM |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Aug 11 2022, 02:02 PM) the point is … becoming surplus doesn’t mean is a reject. Even by simple definition extra doesn’t mean subpar or compromised quality. seems like we have a different definition of this word - reject. Maybe it does sound a bit harsher than it is. So, lets call a surplus spade a surplus spade. I am not thrilled enough to welcome a surplus player unfit for the footballing projects of FCB who openly declares he is happy to be at the club of his dreams but is potentially the best fit for our purpose according to a manager is seems to love Maguire. There are some key differences but most importantly I would classify reject as players who cant perform at clubs after long time even given many chances (like Hazard at Real Madrid now, but no one expect his fall of form and injury seeing his crazy form in EPL). Other examples would be like Isco (motivation issue) and James Rodriguez .. For example, before Ozil and Di Maria at Real Madrid … they replaced Sneijder and Robben who are still in prime and top performance … however they were judged by Perez as not glamorous enough and just shipped out. Good for the Dutch players that they have won more else where and obtained praises and acknowledgment for their performance. If we were to buy Sneijder and Robben at that time, would you call them reject or surplus? Same case as Ozil and Di Maria, Perez found new shiny toys again after some years later and the cycle repeat with Bale, etc. Obviously Di Maria failed at Man Utd as his heart is not here while Ozil just lost the motivation after some time in Arsenal. However, at no time of their transfer out of Real Madrid, their skills or performance are being questioned. Again, at that point of time, they are surplus because of Galaticco policy rather than for footballing or decline reason … Anyway, for me just calling players as rejects are easy or lazy. Not the first time as well for good players go to Barca and being played out of position then ppl criticised them for performance and shipped out later and performed elsewhere again - Fabregas (Chelsea) and maybe Coutinho (Bayern) as the more recent example. Even Real Madrid “reject” Eto’o (he was nvr given a chance) went on and won more trophies in his career during the Barca domination period and at Inter. So it seems like buying surplus player from another team isnt an issue as long as is good fit … while getting reject has high chance of failure due to pre-existing issues .. Question for thought, is Sterling or Jesus surplus to City or reject? Put it this way, as of today quite a few of us are not thrilled with the potential arrival of FDJ. Reason as spelled out above. But suppose we rewind the time and are signing Robben + Sneijder from RM, you can call me stupid if I am not thrilled - reject or no reject, surplus or required. Reasons would be obvious no? ANY TOM, DICK and HARRY can manage a team to play with those two. But again FDJ, if Xavi give up while another Dutchman kena fired, I'm not sure our dutchman really will succeed or not. Hope you understand, but I don't mind if you don't. Horse for courses maybe? |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Aug 11 2022, 02:57 PM) Im just curious bout 1 thing? You finally make me think hard. What signings will make you thrilled? you can give me a few names, whether realistic or not just so I can relate Actually the only player light up my engine is Haaland. (Not gonna say Mbappe those type). Why we can't sign him I honestly don't understand. Except we lack 100M. Now, if I am realistic, Neves for Midfield, Matias Vina for full back but I really really will only be excited if we get a good striker, I have been dying for this one since Lukaku left. If I have to cough up a name - Lautaro Martinez maybe? |
