So usually I'll just start my engine, wait 2 - 3 seconds and jalan ..

Yesterday my car alarm rang around 5 am in the morning .. woke up and saw one indian around my car.. .faster took my baseball bat and went out, he ran away but my back car door was open (damn! wonder how he did that) luckily no scratches but can see fingerprints all around my driver door and back door.

I think he tried to open and got scared by my City's loud alarm ...

They can use the 'shift lock' button to escape from P. 

There's also some pedal lock from Thailand, which has connector/adaptor built-in to fully support the car alarm itself - i.e. the car won't even start before unlocking the brake lock. Well, those brake lock and steering lock are for making your car more time wasting to steal. If they wanted to, I had my friend Hilux with both lock detached and put in front of his house, while his Hilux disappear.
Since using Cobra, they also should have a GPS tracking (+ insurance and send SMS to your phone) add-on to your existing alarm, with subscription around RM300+ per year, and the device one-time fee around RM2000. The insurance claim is around RM2000 when the car is report stolen, and if within 72hr not found, they give you another RM10,000. And they won't take back the money if they found back your car after 72hr.

        Gonna call my SA this coming Wednesday to confirm on the loan. Coz I heard sometimes d bank inform the SA instead of the loan applicant...y d SA dun call? Mayb he dun wan me to pay my downpayment?

With all those car thieves around...owning a nicer car seriously is another big headache. At least when a City park together with Persona...Most probably u will still see Persona around      Well thats the price to pay to drive nice car 

Anyway, nowadays there is some steering lock that come with alarm system as well, and can be control by remote controller.

apisgogo, does your passenger side cover (the top one) create sound when you go through bumpy roads? Mine got ler    sigh... gonna get it fix during 1k service. Hopefully the sound can be gone forever.

I heard from some other forumer here that when air cond kicks in.. the sound is quite noticeable... yours got?

Reason: think of the incidents which may need u to break the windows to save a life, i.e.: the car falling into a river, a child in the back seat with the keys locked in & windows are tightly shut while ur spare keys are 100km away back home, etc...

Actually, top-range tints, i.e.: Ecotint, V-Kool, Air Cool, etc... also protects the windows from shattering upon impact, so if ur concerns are snatch thieves, i.e.: Mat Rempits, etc... then i believe the brands i've mentioned would be sufficient.

Guys, what do u think of the new VTEC City? Seeking opinions here as I'm considering getting one some time in early 2008 to replace my ageing Gen2...

Btw, the new Vios is ugly, compared with the City, IMO!

i got the ecotint ray barrier with safety film fitted on the 4 windows, for the windscreen, it's without the ray barrier
after hearing 2 cases of my father's car getting broken into from the side window, once for smarttag, another for the cd player, i'm convinced that it's a good investment
in case of emergency like crashing into the river, breaking the windscreen would probably be a better choice for escape route, that is, if the door can't be used

How much does it cost?

Awesome... even my IDSI is around 14~15km/l. Below 10K mileage and using Shell. Full tank just around 450km+-.
Getting a City is no regret for me. Next investment will be on ICE.

What is the on the road price with insurance now for City 1.5 vtec?? Any comment about it?? Heard that is it fuel comsumption very high??

In terms of price, fuel comsumption, power, maintainance and market value if compare with I-DSI, which one is worth to get??

gogo if ur Vtec speed up 120-160kmph how much ur expected consumption?

Previous city, both i-dsi & V-tec oso have the 7-gear transmission shift available. Now the new city only V-Tec got.
Basically i suppose both oso have 7-gear transmission, but V-tec enable you to change the gear manually by using the 7-gear shift.

Correct me if I'm wrong

Anywayz, just to keep us in track, IMHO, (TS pls verify), our Gen 3 City actually started with the i-DSi version back in 2003.

The Gen 4 was 2005, after HONDA perfected the VTEC to fit into the City Gen 3...

Now, the End 07 / Early 08 "Gen 4.5" Facelifted is the talk of the town, but since we would wanna silence the HONDA Critics who favour the Dugong-VIOS Hybrid (no offence ), I believe the speculated 2008 Q2 new version would be based on an entirely different chassis design but still based on the platform of an ever-dependable City (Aria / Aria-Fit in Nippon)... just my pendapat harga dua sen...

Kudos for those of us who bought a City end 07 (like me )...
Congratulations on an investment well made for those of us who booked it early 08 (or oredi driving it... )
It'll be well worth the wait for those who may wanna wait for after Q2 2008...

guys, know any place provide touch-up paint work service? cheap and good one.  D@mn it, the first day i drove back and park inside my house parking area already carelessly hit my house the front staircase during parking (not so hard, but still got the ugly scratch near the front skirt).  Coz previously I drive kancil and small car easily to park, now change to city and its hard for me to do the space judgement during parking...

its hurt my heart thougt when i went down and saw my front skirt kiss my house staicase...

i guess i should say it as a "small scar" rather then scratch.  I didn't realize my front skirt juz about to touch the sharpe corner of the concrete staircase when I slowly release my break to move a bit in (coz I thought still got some space in front my house) but I've missed judge the distance

my previous car was small, so parking very easy. now this one different, hard to judge the distance.

when I went down and check, only saw it and immediately reverse my car abit, but too late, already got a small scar there, hurt
