looking at torque numbers in the Nm unit, for example 51Nm, it tells me this engine is more like a ~500cc mill

then, look at the peak torque rpm, will give an idea if it's commuter friendly or not

then, the hp, and peak rpm to see how wide the powerband is, do i need to drop gear everytime, or just pulas and go

Data - rpm at 6th gear at 110kph
QJ 80hp @ 11,000rpm, 51Nm @ 10,500rpm - ???
Modenas 51hp @ 15,500rpm, 22.9Nm @ 14,500rpm - 10300 rpm (~77% torque on standby)
Honda 93.8hp @ 12,000rpm, 64Nm @ 8,500rpm - 5300 rpm (~88% torque on standby)
Suzuki 73hp @ 8,500rpm, 64Nm @ 6,800rpm - 5100 rpm (~87% torque on standby)
Modenas 650 67hp @ 8,000rpm, 64Nm @ 6,700rpm - 5150 rpm (~86% torque on standby)

That's correct

You really have to look at the powerband to see how useful it is on the street.

For example this is the powerband for a commuter friendly kawazaki 650 twin. Notice the very flat blue torque curve that comes on strong from 3500rpm to 7500rpm making it a very very responsive in town and you don't need to be downshifting everytime to go anywhere. Can't find the Dyno charts of the SRK but it's going to be peaky .

Maybe can reference the torque curve of the older TNT600. Kind of a very odd torque curve with a dip where you need it the most.

Dont think I will enjoy that sort of power delivery on a commute

Unless you die die want a 4 cyc sportbike, the current crop of twins are far more suited to street and commuting work.

Visited QJmotor booth at autoshow

2 bikes that had me interested were SRV 600 and SRK 900RR

SRV 600, big brother of the SRV 250. Still using a V-twin engine.
Got a fancy 4 exhaust left and right.

SRK 900RR, 4 inline engine based on MV Agusta 1000
I guess this is where their MV Agusta acquisition asset went to.

MV agusta signature fork exhaust and single swingarm
Funny that the exhaust looks worse in person... it just looks flat

Unknown brand monoshock, but got adjustable preload and maybe rebound?

I think the 800 and 900 sport bikes are more interesting. They're supposed to be on their way here but I wonder when and more importantly, how much...

I guess they follow the same trick making the airbox bigger to deliver that throaty sound..

Wasn't this preview at last year's KL bike show also? Was a curious bike. Mforce personnel even didn't know anything about the bike.

But against the versys. Answer is no. Not with MForce. Rather spend 2k more for versys...even a slightly used old vstrom 650 might be a better buy.

You are going to look at massive depreciation from MForce bikes... Due to poor service, lack of parts and weeks in the shop even for the most minor things.

Modernized V-strom. They probably bought the mfg tooling for the outgoing v-twin engine from Suzuki, the same way CFmoto bought the mfg tooling for the outgoing ER6 engine from Kawasaki last time. Good deal for Suzuki though, last kopek make money as they're getting rid of the v-twins anyway.

I wonder how much it weighs?

I find it attractive, although ultimately Mforce is a deal-breaker for me.

It's not that.

The problem lies with the absurd amount of new models churned out every year, and M Force holding to so many brands.

Can they or do they have the resources to keep parts and service them?

I figure it needs a few more years to see how MForce and it's dealers performs.  Looks like you would probably be on your own to source parts. Even proton has trouble with spares... What more M Force.

Tempting bikes. Just not that much confidence with MForce.

MForce has not changed or improved very much.

Leoncino 250 problem engine dying when hot. Towed the bike to MForce Segambut on 30-July-2024.

Today 3-September-2024 mechanic starts checking the bike. Bike can start so declares the bike fixed. WTF!

It's bad enough we have to wait months for the mechanic to touch the bike. But hardly doing proper checks and making declarations just shows laziness and incompetency.

Yes I do see a long long queue of motorcycles waiting to be repaired or fixed. But this is back to MForce carrying so many brands and only having a very small service center with so little competent mechanics to handle so many brands and large volume of bikes waiting.
icon_rolleyes.gif
The bikes are actually ok (not perfect) but MForce doesn't seem to make any effort to expand their service center and mechanics to cater to the growing market of the many brands they carry.

Sorry for ranting but i need people to be aware of MForce not doing enough to support decent products in this market.

If you can find a decent mechanic outside who can handle the Chinese brands you are better off than most of us who have our bikes stuck in MForce Segambut service center.

Anyone know of any good Benelli mechanic outside in Kalng Valley area?

Peace be with you all! icon_rolleyes.gif

Mforce won't do shit unless you make a big fuss.

If you own a china bike under mforce, you are pretty much on your own. You need a good dealer and you need to source your own parts from taobao.

I got better luck with cfmoto. Major issues from day 1. Had to be towed back to the dealer 20kms from picking up the new bike. Gone direct with cfmoto and made a big fuss. Even got a loaner bike from them. But cfmoto is slightly more independent than the
rest of the mforce brands...and had cfmoto help to expedite my case. Cfmoto had a brand to look after, so a PR nightmare on a brand new launched sort of flagship bike is not something they want to let fester.

My issues have been well documented here on the cfmoto and 800NK threads.

Tough luck if you have a QJ or Benelli.

I applaud your patience.... 3 months in the shop, all hell would have broke loose if it was my bike. If the bike is under warranty, go make a case with the relevant authorities/kementrian (the name escapes me ATM)

That's their strategy of selling their bikes, lure you in with great price without having any after sales support. But I do think you can still get great deals from M-Force, you just have to look at models by other manufacturer, like the 800 so any mechanics who can work on the KTM can also work on it, or you buy a model with a long track record of reliability already, like the CFMOTO 450 platform, or anything with the QJ 600 inline 4. But of course you need to be able to do your research in the Chinese forums to look for those 'steals'.
