You do not need 2 see a pyschic on RSAFs future plans:

F15Sg (4.5 gen) -> incoming mid-life upgrade to F15SG 2 ( 4.5 gen but based on F15EX3) -> NGAD or Tempest (5th or 6th gen)

F16 Blk 50/52+ (4 gen)  -> mid -life upgrade to F16V+ (4.5 gen - upgrades completed) -> F35As and F35Bs (5th gen)
*
More or less what Ive heard (speculative but looks about right) on F35 purchase plans and F16V+ retirement in 2035:

1) 20 F35s purchased as of 2024 - delivery between 2026 to 2030.

2) Another 24 to 28 F35s will be purchased sometime between 2024 to 2026 - delivery by 2030.

RSAF will have between 44 to 48 F35 As and Bs by 2030. Enough for training and contingencies if conflict breaks out in Asia sometime around 2030 i.e. 40+ F15SG2 (likely upgraded by then to EX3 standard), 44 to 48 F35s and 70+ F16V+.

3) Another 24 to 28 F35s will be purchased sometime in 2030 - delivery by 2035.

4) Another 16 F35s will be purchased to be permanently based in Continental US (CONUS) for training between 2030 to 2033. - delivery by 2035. Note: The US has allowed RSAF to base around 16 F35s at Ebbbing, Arizona. These aircrafts will be recalled to Sg in times of tension and especially conflict. And some will be rotated between Sg and CONUS for training purposes leaving around 12 at CONUS at any point in time.

https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-det...b-training-unit

So the F35s will be bought in around 4 batches - 84 to 92 F35s in total. RSAF F16V+s will be drawn down from service from 2035 onwards and put in cold storage. Not unless Msia has any interest in these 4.5 gen combat jets.

And so it begins...One thing about SG (I realise)..if it decides to do something....Sg will generally do it well. Like them. Hate them. They are true professionals.

Both the MRCV and Improved Formidables and OPV (?) are expected to come with the Slyver multi configuration vls launch modules.

These modules are more compact i.e. takes up less space and can accomodate a range of anti air, anti ship and land attack missiles. It is designed to compete better with the MK41 vls launch modules.

It also means more missiles carried.

The replacements for RSAFs C 130, Fokker 50 MPA and Fokker utility transport planes may have taken a back seat so far this year to other announcements. We will see next year or later in the year how these pan out.

But it is not like Sgs intentions r not known. Planes need maintanence. RSAFs planes carry its own unique systems so the maintainence ought to be in Singapore given the sensitivity.

The given Maintanence, Repair and Operations (MROs) agreements are indicative of the replacements:

1)P8 Poseidon to replace Fokker 50 MPA:

2) Embraer C390 to replace C 130 H:

A few months Sg Menhan posted on social media a post on Sgs current and previous rifles.

It seems then that he was hinting at a new rifle for the SAF.

What remains now is the deployment date. However, this will take some time as ST Engineering ramps up production. Hundreds of thousands will need to be produced for the SAF regulars, active and reservist forces.

If you look closer you can see one Singapore Ministry of Defence sticker per gun - clearest indication that it is a property of Sgs Mindef now and its incoming deployment in the near future.

New anti ship and likely coastal/land attack missile for the F35s - carried internally - 4 per aircraft for f35a/c and 2 per f35b.

MACE has a relatively small warhead at circa 35kg (?) (note: newer modern warheads weigh less but have a significant blast impact equivalent to older warheads which are heavier) compared to say a harpoon missile at 220kg.

Depending on its impact, it can be used soley for mission kills i.e. strike vulnerable systems or in swarms and literally sink a ship. E.g. 2 F35Bs can launch 4 MACE missiles and possibky sink a frigate class vessel. 1 F35b can neutalize the same vessel i.e. mission kill - good enough - are you going to tow a ship that size to a safe harbour in.a high intensity conflict?

Great Leopard 2Sg tanks shots in the recruitment video^

According to the United Nations Register of Conventional Arms database, Germany transferred 206 Leo 2A4 tanks to Singapore. These tanks were then upgraded to the Leo 2Sg standard.

In 2019, it was also reported that Singapore bought some 45 Leo 2A7 tanks from Germany. Singapore has denied this acquisition though the report in itself is interesting. Did Singapore buy more Leo 2A4 instead ?

The gigantic Leo 2 sale is probably over as prices of these tanks have spiked.

Forgot to add that ST has incorporated the ^ Smash Targetting System to these rifles:

Sg has been testing SMASH for quite some time:

https://www.shephardmedia.com/news/landwarf...control-system/

Now it remains to be seen if SG will license build for every rifle or for selected infantry trooper in the same squad.

Next Gen Rifle (interchageable bullets i.e. 5.56mm or 7.62mm) + SMASH smart targetting system + 5.56mm Ultra armour penetrating bullets + 40mm rocket propelled wall/arnour (soft to medium) penetrating grenade (via side loading grenade launcher attachment
) -> Sg is turning its infantry into super soldiers for all types of men.

Nuts!

Given his vocation and contacts he certainly knows a lot more than the average Indo. He has been right on quite a lot of things which has come to pass. Shame on you for denigrating a patriot.

Anyway, Ive pointed out obvious gaps in Indo procurement. Any discerning.observer can see that.

I do not like to embarass people unnecessarily (unless you try to be funny) so ill leave it as it is

Hope things turn out well for everyone in our region and that includes Indo and you.

^ Smash dragon weapon accessory for uavs

Great small little company: https://www.smart-shooter.com/

I think ST Eng may end up buying it or that Temasek may pour in millions in investments.

^ these compact usvs are expected to accompany Sgs next generation infantry - likely launched from manned vehicles like Hunters or Terrex or Broncos.

Uses Artificial Intelligence and advanced algorithms so can be autonomous.

Likely swarm drone tech too.

Singapore begins construction of the MRCV destroyers/heavy frigates:

Singapore cuts steel for first multirole combat vessel
by Ridzwan Rahmat

Singapore's ST Engineering Marine held a steel-cutting ceremony for the country's first multirole combat vessel (MRCV) on 8 March.

The steel was ceremonially cut by Republic of Singapore Navy (RSN) Chief Rear Admiral Sean Wat, who was joined by representatives from the country's Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA).

“This marks a significant milestone for the MRCV project, which is projected to join the navy's fleet of ships from 2028,” according to the short statement issued by the RSN to announce the event. “The new MRCVs will function as mother ships, capable of controlling unmanned assets across the air, surface, and underwater domains,” the service added.

Singapore's Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) announced in March 2023 that it awarded ST Engineering the contract to design and build six MRCVs. The announcement came just days after the DSTA disclosed it had signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Saab to co-develop and design the MRCV.

“The new vessel concept will be equipped with artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics to enable the MRCV to be a highly digital ship,” DSTA and Saab said in a news release to mark the MOU.

Since then the RSN has disclosed that Thales and Leonardo have been appointed as suppliers of the MRCV's combat systems, although no specifics on these are available. Saab and Danish shipbuilder Odense Maritime Technology (OMT) have also been appointed as joint developers for the MRCV's basic design.

When contacted by Janes on 8 March a MINDEF representative confirmed that no further information on the ship will be released for now.

Note: It looks like the design is more or less confirmed as it is from SG's Ministry of Defence. ST Eng will build it and install the systems and weapons and sensors (including unfinished masts). DSTA is the systems integrator - not just within the ship and within RSN but to ensure the ship links up with all of SAF's domains:
