I may have missed this report:
https://world.kbs.co.kr/service/news_view.h...Seq_Code=183848 A police report has been lodged against an indo engineer working on the kf 21 korean jet. I understand that the relationship between indo and korea on the ground is bad as Indo has not paid its share of the programme and is more of a rent seeker with little tech knowledge to contribute. I dont think this is the first time that Korea has caught Indo. The Police report takes things to a new level with the possible offence of espionage and subversion. QUOTE(Mai189 @ Feb 26 2024, 01:43 PM) US Marines interested in ST Engineerings Wing-In-Ground effect craft 1st commercial sale ,- To a Turkish firm.https://breakingdefense.com/2024/02/us-mari...ghting-vehicle/ ^ It can be militarised and weaponised. It can also be upscaled i.e. made larger for greater payload and transport of men and equipment. ^ She will fly under most radar detection fields emanating from ships until the last stretch. All the more if stealth design is incorporated. Unmanned versions are definitely possible. If so, these crafts will be crazily deadly!. https://www.stengg.com/en/newsroom/news-rel...n-ground-craft/ |

QUOTE(azriel @ Feb 28 2024, 06:49 AM) Factual inaccuracies^ how is indo miilitary spending an increase of 250% when her annual defence budget this year is about $USD 8.6 billion? In the early 2000 it was about $USD 1 to 2+ billion. Typical indo drama. ![]() Source: Janes This post has been edited by Mai189: Feb 28 2024, 08:55 AM |

Video released by Sgs Mindef and posted by the base leg:
Given that it is an unmanned systems carrier cum combat ship, the tonnage or size is not surprising. You can place 112 vls cells ( 48 vls in front of the bridge superstructure + 64 vls at centre multimission platform) on a single MRCV if RSN wants. But i suspect sa single mrcv will carry 48 vls cells (Aster 30 Blk 1 NT and VL Mica Ng) and 4x8 or 32 blue spear anti ship cum land attack missiles (Formidable can carry 24 blue spear missiles per ship for info) initially. Cavaet: Read that Saab will pass the MRCV baseline design to ST Engineering which will add in the digital systems, installation of sensors, masts, etc. This post has been edited by Mai189: Feb 28 2024, 01:17 PM |

QUOTE(Mai189 @ Feb 28 2024, 12:59 PM) Was googling twitter on blue spear and found good videos and photos on Sgs upcoming 6 MRCV destroyers: What is a comparable naval ship? The Aussie Hunter class which has >8000 tonnage and about 150m in length. Like Sg which is constructing 6 MRCV vessels, the Aussies are building 6 Hunter class vessels. Both vessel type are likely to come with the FFG or FFS frigate classification. But they are as large as destroyers.Xavier from Naval News has confimed its full load tonnage as being 8800 tons: ![]() RANs Hunter class ship This post has been edited by Mai189: Feb 28 2024, 01:49 PM |

QUOTE(azriel @ Feb 28 2024, 11:24 PM) Dated Feb 6^. What i mean by the utter confusion in Indo procurement. Indo drama. You just hear news.. 2 merah puteh frigates - 1 under construction but stuck due to copyright issue and CMS undecided between thales or Turkeyie. Weaponry not bought - also these need to be compatible with the CMS. Sensors ' not bought. Some ship modules built. May end up like My LCS. Fremm or ppa or fremm or ppa -> Depends on whether permission for loans approved. Then depends on whether can get loans. If obtained it is enough for 1 to 2 fremm or ppa.CMS or weapons not sorted out. Anti air will be short range vl mica only. |

QUOTE(azriel @ Feb 29 2024, 08:26 AM) ^ This ship is firstly built to be a long range patrol vessel with space for additional logistics. In Italian navy service, the class is called the Thaon di Revel-class offshore patrol vessel. It can be up armed to be a frigate. But it is a far cry from a ship designed to from the outset to be a heavy frigate like the Iver huitfeld or Hunter class. The Italians are disposing 2(?) of them so that they have the bandwidth and money to acquire proper destroyers given the higher risk level of conflict in Europe. QUOTE(Mai189 @ Mar 1 2024, 05:25 PM) The ST Engineering's (ST) V60 UAVs shown in the diagram above are larger versions of the ST V15 UAVs currently in used by SG's army:![]() V15 UAV ^ https://www.janes.com/defence-news/news-det...-wing-vtol-uavs https://aviationweek.com/defense-space/airc...-uas-production QUOTE The V15 will feature a 3.7 m wingspan and a maximum take-off weight (MTOW) of between 16-17 kg as well as speed and endurance ranges of between 30-40 kt and 2-3 hours depending on its configuration, although it will typically carry a nose-mounted electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) turret. In contrast, the larger and more capable V60 will feature a 5 m wingspan and a MTOW of between 50-70 kg, while flying at payload-dependent speeds of between 50-70 kt and staying aloft for 12-14 hours. It will also carry a nose-mounted EO/IR turret with provision for an optional laser rangefinder. The V60s are expected to be one of several unmanned systems which will be operated of the MRCV vessels i.e. used by the RSN - see 0:47 to 0:54): This post has been edited by Mai189: Mar 1 2024, 09:54 PM |

QUOTE(azriel @ Mar 1 2024, 04:46 PM) Wonder when this will come to a conclusion too as we have been hearing news about this for years.Seeing the fiasco over the Korea submarines: https://www.businesskorea.co.kr/news/articl...tml?idxno=98786 The technical issues are such that the Korean company asked Indo not to sail out on the submarines. I am not sure where is the problem- the Indo local assembly or Korean design. This post has been edited by Mai189: Mar 1 2024, 05:56 PM |
