^ An expected development against new assymetric threats air e.g. cheap unsophisticated UAS and USVs as Sg would want 2 reserve their Vl mica ngs and Aster missiles against more hi tech threats.
It also means a new layer to ship surface and air defence/offense for RSN warships.
Anti air defence/offence for 6 MRCV destroyers and 6 mid life upgraded Formidable class frigates: Aster 30 Blk 1 NT ->150km, VL Mica Ng - 40km and now Mistral 3 - 8 km range ring missiles
All other RSN ships for anti-air defence/offense - Vl Mica Ng - 40km and Mistral 3 - 8km range ring missiles.
Secondary anti Surface capability of Mistral 3 missile - 8km against surface targets.
^ + electronic warfare (EW) of course.

Alternatively the Mistral 3 missiles can be attached to the 25/30mm CIWS systems on RSN ships.
QUOTE
The new modification consists in fitting four Mistral 3 short-range surface to air missiles on each side of the NGDS launcher, meaning a single NGDS can deploy a up to 8 ready-to-fire missiles. So-called “first rank” vessels of the French Navy are typically fitted with two NGDS launchers: With this upgrade, Safran (and MBDA) could provide the Marine Nationale (and existing users of the NGDS such as the Republic of Singapore Navy) with a rather simple solution to adopt RAM-like CIWS or point-defense missile systems (PDMS) consisting in a total of 16 missiles. The Mistral 3 missile has an operational range of up to 8 Km (but has demonstrated an interception of a UAV at a range of 12 Km during a test campaign in Spain). It is able to intercept sea-skimming anti-ship missiles as well as surface targets such as FIAC and USV.
This new system is comparable to the USN RAM except that Safran has integrated the Mistral 3 missiles with the NGDS rocket propelled decoy launcher (usually 2 to 4 NGDS launchers per ship so 16 (8 Mistral 3 missiles per launcher) to 32 ready to fire Mistral 3 missiles excluding ready to fire rocket propelled decoys) which saves deck space:
Formidable frigate front NGDS launchers (left and right):
Sgs DSTA will redesign the stealthy cupola if required to cover the added Mistal 3 missiles.

Germany authorizes funding of submarine launched multi purpose anti air IDAS missile for German made submarines.
This is a significant development as it will allow submarines like the U212, U218Sg (or Type 218Sg), U214, etc. to shoot down anti submarine helicopters or MPAs ( esp. when they swoop down to use MAD and/or launch sonar bouys).
In fact, it imay be the submarine that hunts these aircraft esp. if it detects the aircrafts first.
This development was protracted and it is only now that the German government gave approval.

IDAS system is the world's first missile which gives submarines the capability to engage air threats whilst submerged, and the first tube-launched missile that does not emerge in a capsule, but is fired directly from the torpedo tubes
IDAS has range in excess of 15km (up to 40km) and has a secondary anti surface capability. It can sink small vessels (corvette class) , strike land vehicles and buildings. It can also seriously damage larger ship systems i.e. mission kill. 4 missiles can be fitted into a 533mm torpedo tube from a single tube magazine.

Haha. Menhan Sg hinting at incoming RSN JMMS vessels which will replace some of the Endurance class LPDs (Sg refers to them as LSTs in spite of its size and rearwell deck which embarks landing crafts).
The JMMS (2 ships) will either be a light carrier/LHA or LHD.
As shared, Sgs RSN will likely complement the JMMS vessels with 2 to 3 multi role support/logistics vessels capable of amphibious operations - something like BMTs Ellida class:
Not all scenarios mandates the presence of a JMMS vessel.
