QUOTE September 23 2024 14:20:43 Indonesia seeks to purchase Turkish warships, submarines JAKARTA The Indonesian navy commander has expressed intention to procure additional warships from Türkiye, with proposals for submarines also on the table with Ankara. "Our waters are vast; hence our naval capacity is not sufficiently robust. We are endeavoring to enhance our defense capabilities with a focus on ships, aircraft and a myriad of other defense equipment," Admiral Muhammad Ali stated during a ceremony marking the 79th anniversary of the foundation of the Indonesian navy in Jakarta. "Just as we have procured the Pattugliatore Polivalente d’Altura (PPA) from Italy, several frigates are anticipated to arrive from Türkiye," he stated. The admiral indicated that details regarding the acquisition and delivery timeline of the warships from Türkiye remain unspecified, though he pointed to potential delivery dates in 2025 and 2026. Discussions are currently underway between Türkiye and Indonesia concerning various defense technologies, including UAVs, helicopters, submarines, ships and radar systems, Ali added. The İstif-class frigates have emerged as particularly appealing options for Indonesia, with the first vessel, the TCG Istanbul Frigate, having been commissioned on Jan. 19. In addition to frigates, the world's largest island nation may also acquire corvettes of the Ada class. Indonesia's Ambassador to Türkiye, Achmad Rizal Purnama, recently visited the Istanbul Naval Shipyard Command, where he engaged in discussions regarding the İstif-class TCG Istanbul Frigate and other pertinent projects. Moreover, a delegation led by Türkiye’s Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) recently undertook a visit to the Indonesia’s capital. This visit heralded the announcement of significant agreements between the countries. https://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/indonesia...bmarines-200849 |

It is speculated by Janes that RSN upgraded ships and submarines could be using the Rafael Shade system with tor buster (a version of depth charge from the looks of it), Scutter, etc:

Sg's Victory class corvette in sun-set years. The 6 vessels are expected to remain in used until <2035 before they are fully decommissioned. Thier replacements are Sg's new 8000 to 10000 ton MRCV heavy frigates/destroyers. But they are still potent. In fact and like most of SGs ships, they are overpowered i.e. packed to the brim with sensors and weapons. They are better armed than many ships in South East Asia, including frigates. A Victory class corvette has better point and mini-local/area air defence than the majority of South East Asian naval vessels via 16 improved Barak 1 missiles (>12km range). Note: The Barak missiles are stored in 16 vls cells. Barak has a secondary anti-ship capability too. She can take on frigates and destroyers and win esp. when linked to SG's over-arching battle management system with other sensor and weapon nodes. ![]() QUOTE Builder: Lürssen Werft, Bremen, Germany (88) / Singapore Shipbuilding & Engineering (89-93) Displacement: 595 tons Length: 62 meters (203 feet 5 inches) Beam: 8,5 meters (27 ft 11 in) Draft: 2,6 meters (8 ft 6 in) Speed: 37 knots (69 km/h), max. / 18 knots (33 km/h), cruise Range: 2000 NM (3700 km) at cruise speed Complement: 46 Propulsion: 4 x Maybach/MTU 16V 538 TB93 diesel engine (total output 16900 hp / 12600 KW) 4 shafts, 4 propellers Armament: 2 x 8-cell Vertical Launching System (VLS) for IAI/Rafael Barak 1 SAM missiles 1 x Oto-Melara/OtoBreda 76/62 Super Rapid DP gun (3"/76mm) 2 x Mk.141 quad missile laucher for up to 8 RGM-84 Harpoon SSM 2 x B515 12.75" (324mm) triple torpedo tubes for EuroTorp A244/S torpedoes (removed) Aviation: Boeing Scan Eagle unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) Sytems: Search Radar: Ericsson/Radamec Sea Giraffe 150HC > later Saab Sea Giraffe AMB post 2011 SLEP Weapon Control: Elbit MSIS optronic director Navigation Radar: Kelvin Hughes 1107 Sonar: Thomson Sintra TSM2064 VDS ESM: Elisra SEWS ECM: Rafael RAN 1101 jammer Decoys: 2 x Plessey Shield 9-barrelled chaff launchers / 2 x twin Rafael long range chaff launchers Note: Anti-submarine capabilities taken over by the 8 LMVs, Formidables, incoming OPVs and MRCVs. https://www.seaforces.org/marint/Singapore-...ctory-class.htm Barak 1 missile (Sg uses the improved version with secondary anti-ship capability): This post has been edited by Mai189: Sep 30 2024, 12:03 PM |

QUOTE Wow why need monk and Jew blessing First time see multi racial blessing 6-7 religions? Hantu Type C refer to monk. Hantu Type J aka Yohoodi refer to Rabbi la. Common in SG - they are more united than Msia. https://iro.sg/ For muslims, if you look at the photos you will find a descendant of the prophet - one of the current imams of Masjid Baalwie, Habib Hassan, a well known ulama in Sg and the world. He is well respected even by Sg non muslims and leaders...subhanallah. The lineage is in Sg and well loved and protected. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2...568&type=3&_rdr This post has been edited by Mai189: Sep 29 2024, 07:26 PM |
