I dont want to bring in race in this topic but from the general comments I received, Indians are notorious for having bad renting habits

Please help ur community by becoming better tenants, or else people will shun renting to your community

I rented my unit to a family for 12 years and they can afford to buy new house now.

They damaged my fixtures, and with rm480 tnb bill unpaid (ok i have deposit) and keep delaying the date of moving out. Promising that his cousin will continue renting but disappeared as well

Now both husband n wife shut off their hp and have not returned the keys

That's y ppl don't rent to certain race yet they make a big fuss..

Cannot mention race, but i think same race with urs.

Always Late pay rent, some times pay abit abit 200, 300, sometimes drag few weeks. Utility semua late , house wall abit dirty, lucky not big damage.. lots of excuses

to be fair it goes both ways. student time unker rent tiny furnished room with table chair n single bedframe in room. chair no gooding to sit n not ergonomic with table like kids chair. so unker move out exchange with dining table chair. the place got 3 other rooms oso rented out. before move in no problem.

wan move out landlord rep come inspect like doing stock take. check this check that check furniture. see kids chair not there straight call owner liport say wan rm 100. got other 2 rooms locked dunwan open to check. at that moment unker knew he kena scam. matada the way she check almost at if all planned out, put on show to extort cash from unker for missing chair.

unker even help clean up room nide tidy, yet they do this. but cannot argue becos there is no TA for student renting n they hold deposit. so end up unker kena scam rm100. so it go both ways.

I have only experience as a tenant/housemate. But i agree housemate with the group TS mention is seriously a headache.

One of my previous tenant did the same to me, rented out to him for 5 years without rentle increase. Default rentle for 7 months, outstanding tnb , water and indah water bill about 1.6k. Initially said his food cooking business cant operate during mco and asked for delay 3 months rental payments. After that quietly shifted back to hometown and shut off handphone.

should follow South korea/Taiwan/ north east asia rental system. pay upfront one year rent.

A lot of people will be homeless.

Rented out for 12 years no issue?

This is obviously due to covid la.. Come on.. He rented for 5 years no issue..i don't see a big problem

Got other issues but as long as it was solved, I didnt want to pursue.

1) they rented an extra parking lot, and didnt pay. Management called me for help to tell them nicely to pay or to vacate. I spoke to them, they paid and vacated the lot since they cant afford extra car and extra parking. So it wasnt really a problem with me.

2) they delay rental for a few months saying that their other tenant paying them late (they have a house that they rent to other tenant in another state). I said thats not my problem i need u to pay promptly before 3rd and show me the bank in receipt. They obliged and case closed

3) damaged the pipe and i asked them to settle themselves

4) damaged my cooking stove and asked my help. I helped to go replace, coz they had to cook for family gathering. By right they should buy n replace (the whole glass top shattered)

Not that i want to berkira but dont buat taik la

Now i wanna sell and get potential buyer to view the unit, everything messy.

The management told me their prayer altar also just left there.
