Hi, recently installed maxis fiber on 30/4/2022(using TM infra), it was working fine till today afternoon where the modem shows red los blinking

Already lodged a case to Maxis, currently waiting for TM to provide appointment slot

Something that I did noticed during installation however were TM installer were contacting someone to ask about fiber ports hmm.gif

Not sure if I should escalate this issue to MCMC(under TM or maxis)? I've read numorous post about it.

There are few possibilities. It can be infra defect from poll to your house, modem problem, or TM "turn off" your port when they terminate your Unifi. It happen to some people whereby when TM terminate their unifi upon successful port out, they "accidentally" turn off the port as well.
Do expect long delay as it is public holiday until Wednesday.

I see, does tm installer by any chance would do anything to the DP on a public holiday(I.e today)? Recently installed maxis fiber(new installation)

I saw something concerning about TM installer contacting someone about port(suspect ports are used up and they are looking for free port on the DP) during the installation process

I recently had my Unifi internet installed and the next day the LOS red light came on. There was no internet. I called the installer and he came back to check. Do you have installer phone number. If you do, call him and tell him the problem. The installer must attend to the problem like a warranty period after installing. I was told 48 hours but my installer said 30 days. I can’t confirm which is correct.

My LOS red light was caused by the fiber cable joint. The joint is where the technician checked the readings to gauge whether your internet has correct connection. There is an acceptable reading range. In my case it was within the range but still no internet. He redid the joint and the reading was higher than before and it is good now.

Unfortunately nope sweat.gif

Speaking of reading, I did request them to install FWS though and they said “it would cause lower reading” I did make them install it though for easy maintenance (would rather not pay again for the non-standard installation)

Well, that's because they have to contact tm Unifi to fix any modem/fibre related problems

So there's a delay due to that.
There are still other reasons to go with Maxis with that said (postpaid bundle for example)

Had this problem b4. The TM fiber manhole got flooded last December.

Celcom Fibre down for about a week. Reported to MCMC and they closed the case by telling me to deal with Celcom directly.

Celcom said they don't give rebates for connection problems.

KNNCCB. After end of December, will find another fibre provider.
