hey people
ive got a problem my dog has got ticks and we use anti-tick shampoo on him and nw he's better d but the problem is all of a sudden there's ticks crawling all over my house!!! i sweep them i then i surf the internet when i look up i c them again!! HELP!!! :
someone can recommend something?

kill them,dont just sweep them away.
tear them in half if you have to(that's what i do)
they can linger around for a long time..

and spray frontline on your dog-some anti tick shampoo does not work

Same problem as me..

My doggie is much better now after using some "medicine" on it. The kind that u "pour" (not exactly pour on him, just a few drop) on him every month.

And during the first few month... those annoying thing is around my house, room .... bed, chair, table, keyboard.....

Now they seems to have disappear by themself

hehe.... me also got this problem now. I use "Front Line" to drop on prince body (so the tick will bit prince and died). Then I brought something from vet/petshop to spray on house. I everyday also monitor prince body see got tick or not

However it still got but very very less compare last time

well you can go to the vet and ask for "tactic" solution.tactic is very very effective. well follow the instruction careful when u apply the medication.to clean the area with tick , u have to take it dilute it 1 portion to 10 portion of water. Use those spray bottle n spray it all over the house, garden & those place which is with those stupid tick and flea. Avoid letting your dog walk near to the place u have been sprayed okay.because tactic is very strong medication. u can see those tick and flea will drop on the floor after apply this medication too. make sure clear them away,flush away !!! or u can burn it if u wanted to . anyway since u saying the anti tick/flea shampoo is effective so i think u no need apply the tactic '' on ur furkid body ..but beware if u use tactic on ur furkid body ya...because is very dangerous
if ur furkid smell or even accidentally lick it...BTW how old is ur furkid ? because furkid which is below a certain age like 3-4 month is not suitable to apply strong medication . anyway hope this help buddy . Hope u clear those stupid small vampire away ASAP . Good Luck

Omg... ur dog shampoo is repelling the ticks away so they are crawling away from ur dog and into ur house! when there's a tick problem..u have to totally kill all those ticks on ur dog's body..dont even leave a single tick alive, esp in the ears & in between the paws..sometimes the butt

i've been having this infestation for 3 weeks already. sigh.

a trend? why suddenly all people kena tick 1? hahaha

hmm the tactic thing tat u mention isit available over-the-counter? my puppy is almost 5 mths d so can use?

frontlne for dog, bayticol for house btw, i had an infestation of ticks too last month, sent furkids for basic grooming to the petstore, came back with ticks.

yes... me too using frontline for dog and bayticol for house

tictac is not over the counter. it's industrail-strength tick repellant. even my 1 year old pitt bull being sprayed with diluted tictac went googoogaga for few days....

kinda. first it's the small ones with big bodies. after that it's those we usually find. everyday also catch, even my bed has few of them..

ur dog so small wor... and also fur not so tick right? my GR siao... so tick fur and big size... really need use tools

yea agree ,if wan to use anti flea/tick spray i feel Frontline is the best
because tactic is a strong medication and can cause dog in danger .

but if to clear away those small vampire which is climb the wall , and garden etc.....I think tactic or bayticol is recommended .
but of cuz after apply the tactic or any medication which can kill those tick/flea , better avoid furkid go to the place which is spray with tactic or bayticol ...because the smell of the medication can make people faint also

Although there are many famous brands that has been around for long, but personally i dont like to apply too strong ticks solutions on dogs, even frontline is actually pesticide. Just imagine a product that you as a human need to wear glove & avoid contact with BUT yet we apply it on our dogs.

I use Zero Flea Spot On which is safe even on human. But of corse, it is your choice, i think best if you do more research around.

I believe the ticks start breeding at your home already, it can't solve in short period of time. You need to apply spot on on your dog every month, and use ticks solutions mix with water then mop the floor everyday.

For me.... ahah.... I have not had a tick infestation for the past 2 years.... the last time had ticks was from Chelsea when got from breeder but luckily only a few.... if she didn't come in, can say almost 6 years no ticks or fleas.... my cat also no parasites on the body.

Maybe something in my house is scaring away the ticks? I have grass all over the garden hahahah.... bring my dogs out for walks, still no ticks loh.....

But if they do have, we use Bayticol.... if your dog tends to lick the body alot, use Frontline. The Spray kind is fast and effective. If you have ticks say on carpets, grass.... then I suggest you spray Bayticol on those stuff so that whatever ticks are in there dies before it gets onto your dog.

Bayticol is cheap, Rm16 or RM18 for a small bottle, and you have to dilute it with a bucket of water... got instructions lah. For body, Frontline is safer....

i simply apply it using my bare hands,no problems yet

I also use my bare hands. From what the vet has told me, Frontline is not harmful coz it is not absorbed into the blood stream so it is not dangerous. That's why we can use our hands. It just goes on the skin and doesn't cause any damage nor allergies.

You can get from the vet or petshop. What my dad normally does is mix the Bayticol with water just like the instructions say, then he fills it inside a spray bottle and spray on walls, cages and also areas where my dogs normally sleep.

yes yes, follow bayticol bottle's instructions (diluted it looks murky white like dettol), put into spray bottle (or even better the pro kind for gardens) and go drench your house. it smells terrible though (like the mosquito misting vans) and dun let your furkids lick them...

Ticks problem is forever on-going. I think cannot completely eliminate gua.

My furkids' tick problem is under control because my parents check on Abby and Chelsea's body EVERYDAY. Everyday will say, "Come Chelsea-girl, good girl, come Pa/Ma check tick tick". Then they will come to my parents and lie down with legs open wide.

I guess they like it gua, like body massage.

If you guys see the fugly bloated ones, like raisin sized, better fai fai squish it. Those are egg-carrying females. Never ever sweep or throw the ticks into the drain because they'll climb back up. Just use a tissue and squish the parasites to death.

Once in a while will see a few ticks (spider like ones, not bloated) walking here and there, so I just use my fingernails to squish 'em. But ar... I'm very geli if want me to touch the bloated ones. Big big yet soft. I dare not touch the bloated ones, unless if I have tissue paper.

i always used pesticide...forgot wat name but the color is milky white when diluted. i used it to control green bugs on my plants and suprisingly it works very well for ticks, fleas or watever its called

i used a sponge to apply a highly diluted pesticide around the body
then i put on the big funnel like thingy to prevent it from licking. usually 2 days time and the fleas will become dried fleas on the skin.

it spreads from 1 dog to another. especially if u bring it out for a walk and let it play around with other dogs. if u keep it in ur house only, once its eliminated, it won't come back.........until someone brings it back

Eeeew... GROSS la. Last time I squish with paperweight with the parasite inside two layers of tissue and somehow, the blood *spuuurt* onto my glasses. Gross. If got bloated ones, I just find a glass bottle and fill up quarter of it with thinner or foh-shui. Then I drown the bloody buggers.

They turn almost white the next day, macam kena bleach wor.

But the popping sound really nice, coz we get the satisfaction of killing the parasite that's feeding on our furkids. This is not sadism. Sadism is like my friend who poke the bloated ones with satay stick until it become deflated

You can always drown the ticks in some alcohol.... but I normally just pick the ticks out using my fingers and squishing them using tissue paper... like what nairud said, I will only be satisfied when I hear the popping sound.... that means squish till dead liao.

Not sure whether it is true but heard from someone that if you squeeze those bloated one - will not kill the eggs but might risk spreading them.
Usually, I just put them into a container fill with clorox, salt or dynamo and watch them struggle inside the solution.
They usually become transparent like the next day (like kena hakis by asid) <--- 100% kill the eggs also.
Don't want to squeeze them with my finger - messy ler!

i have those ikea candles...with an aluminum cup/base.. heat it up... i preserve them buggers. lol with wax

eww gross. now my house got a lot of those fat raisin ones but very little spider ones. em they havent grown to their maximum size yet just like a grain of sand only. evrytime my dog walk around they will fall on the floor wor. why is that so?

Tick is always the problem.... so far my dog is tick free for almost 6 months now everyday i comd and check it to see any tick. i think the most important thing to keep their sleep/ play place clean to avoid tick but if take back from walk no choice lo. usually i pick it and drown it in a bottle of oil now all the tick like astronaut dangling in the oil hahahah.

wah don't kill it using ur hand..coz the eggs will not be dead..
if you find one..put it into the kerosene..or thick oil..
then the eggs will be dead also..
this is one of the traditional way lah.. hehehe

umm thn im curious of 1 thing, can we keep applying spot on? like for precautionary step? get wat i mean?

Hmm... I don't get it.... do you guys only use Frontline when you see ticks, etc? It's a monthly application. I use it monthly and have not experience any ticks/fleas/etc problem.

It's prevention, yes before having ticks. Apply monthly like heartworm prevention.

Tick-volution. Ticks are like cockroaches sometimes. No matter how much you kill, once in a while you'll see one crawling around with its antennae waving.

RB's method is better - prevention is better than cure.
