Better not to use tactic on the dog itself.. sad.gif

There was a thread in the Malaysian Vet forum on the adverse reaction after using tactic, the condition was quite serious:

QUOTE
the amitraz (tactic) toxicity is not strictly in small breed dog. Any dog can have it, depending the concentration of the mixture, the user, the amount being absorped. Small breed dog tend to be easier to have this problem because their body surface over body mass is much high than a larger dog. Hence, absoprtion is higher and faster. It will be even more dangerous when there is more open wound, like tick bite, scratching, skin problem... Therefore, amitraz is only best used by trained personnel.

There can be cumulative effect of amitaz in the body especially the body fat and liver. Long term usage can slowly lead to chronic toxicity and irreversible damage.

Saw somewhere before that there are alternative natural tick repellants such as eucalyptus oil and lemon.

Not sure whether it is true but heard from someone that if you squeeze those bloated one - will not kill the eggs but might risk spreading them. unsure.gif
Usually, I just put them into a container fill with clorox, salt or dynamo and watch them struggle inside the solution.
They usually become transparent like the next day (like kena hakis by asid) <--- 100% kill the eggs also.
Don't want to squeeze them with my finger - messy ler! blink.gif
