I think my 300mbps provided Dlink router have issue on wifi device (phone) connect with full bar, but no internet access. most of the time happen on 5ghz..time to time on 2.4ghz
Is there any router to suggest to replace it?

I got old streamyx router VR600R is it better than that shitty Dlink AX router?

not really. i personally dont feel i get benefit from regular firmware update etc when previously i use TPlink that router thread guys say never update and no experience any issue.
currently i still got VR600R in my hand, hence asking that. (not sure it able to support fiber routing or not)

Just go ahead. thumbsup.gif
I think, did you change channel?

Full bar but no internet access, it will be others interference with your 5 GHz wifi, this happen because they are using 800M etc, 5GHz only got 443, or x2 with PC 2:2 antenna.
Even got 160 MHz which is taken all the channel, lol.

Try ping when no internet access, if can ping but high latency, it means interference.
If can't ping, it means router issues like hang.

And yes, old device like very old phone low performance connected to router, will also hang the others.

For checking wifi channel is this.

downloaded both app.
Will do check if it stay long enough no internet.
as most of the time it just a while before i detect it...like old day you watching random website video..it stop loading then you know your internet stucked.
but i still believe that router too shitty lol

Yes, also just wonder, what's the performance of fiber modem, fiberhome?
So far I got huawei, then they switch to ZTE after huawei banned by US, both works well.

For router, nah, can use, but if I heavy on WiFi will down real quick, only suitable for 30-100M usage.
And orange router latency higher than AC1200 v2 with NAT BOOST.
DNS?
Can be a dns issues, which also handle by router for caching and reroute to ISP DNS.

Yes that also count as router too shitty lol.
And yes, good router with auto channel selection should select based on talktime, not just default CH 36, lol.

Unsure which website you means, YouTube got local MY peer server(aka TM and Maxis etc lol), so unless you means Twitch or Bilibili, If YouTube stop loading, sure is local network issues.

sorry. that 'video' just an example. doh.gif
'like you watching until the video pause and buffering.. then you realize the internet cut off.'

that issue not 100% appear, but its will be annoying when you meet it....i don recall when i using VR600 have such issue.

Ya, then more likely local network issues, I will try ping first la.
Using a Laptop is easier, just wifi connect, open 2 CMD windows.

1.
ping 192.168.1.1 -t
2.
ping 8.8.8.8 -t

First one check for local router, second one check for Internet, got history so can refer back when your smartphone no internet, just stand up and take a look on your laptop , then you will know which is the fault.

Adding another PC with cable also can rule out it is router hang or WiFi hang.

If you lazy, just switch over Asus's good router model, done lol.

changing router 99% solve the problem lol.
but asus router i aim for TUF AX600 cost almost 1K. not really a good go.
