Hahaha, is this the trick for them to show they have decrease pricing after MSAP reduction?

Bring your father to Tmpoint and discuss it there. Should be able to get straight forward answer.

Still doesn't explain why the other ISPs aren't reducing prices and grab market share from TM

I was about to pen off a strongly worded letter to the editor but thanks to Alexander Wong I don't have to now.
*
Those renting TM's infra, is TM still charging them the same? If yes then hard to want to reduce price.
But others like Time and Allo also stay silent.

QUOTE(ak101ss @ Jul 11 2023, 10:53 AM)
Hi Broadband sifus, I suddenly kena email today without touching anything that tomorrow TM want to come and pasang for me unifi? I'm currently on unifi lite as area no port and I didn't bother to put myself in the waiting list also.

I called and asked and they said you can take it or reject it when the installers come. Best part is, the CS said it's not an upgrade to my existing unifi lite, it's a new installation.

Which means now i'll have both unifi and unifi lite. The worst part is, the order just happened today morning???

Maybe you can check with CS to find out who registered, what plan? Have you previously applied and maybe under waiting list?
If the plan suits you then can consider take it before port full again.

i m existing customer 500mbps 169+30 aneka tv end contract d. yesterday went tm point hey offer 500mbps rm179 free 6 monthh + free mesh wifi n router wifi 6. worth it ? or anybody got better offer ?
*
I think better buy your own Wifi6 router and mesh if you really need those. Can't see any justification to pay RM10 extra just for the router and mesh, since ISP provided one is not that good.

TM confirms the finalisation and publication of its Reference Access Offer (RAO) soon. It is set to begin negotiations and execution of the Access Agreements (AA) with Access Seekers by end-Sept in line with the timelines issued by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) in its media release on 11 July 2023.

https://bm.soyacincau.com/2023/07/12/tm-jam...khir-september/

Tm is the culprit who delays implementation of the MSAP.
*
Haha, TM the kingmaker unfortunately. Unless other telco willing to invest for another HSBB infra which will not happen.

Lion city all the ISPs are using the same fibre infrastructure provided by this company called netlink trust, which it is an initiative by gahment to get all household connected with fibre.

All the ISPs are paying monthly rental to offer services to their customers.
*
That's also one of the missteps taken when Malaysia decided to let TM handle the national HSBB project.

Yup, but nah, they will say already B40...

I will prefer RM 69 without B40 for 30M, RM 89 for 50M, not something that reset to RM 89 after 2 years... doh.gif
*
Well, I think it's not too much to ask for something like RM49 for 30mbps, and RM89 for 100mbps. Make the lowest tear a plan where B40 can afford. Even if you put in 2tb quota for the lowest plan, it will still be enough for most household.

Hi guys, need some recommendations. I am planning to subscribe for broadband, basically only going to use it for regular netflix streaming and some video conference, at most 2 users in the house.

Wanted to go for Time 100Mbps but it is not available at my condo, looking at Unifi 30Mbps.

Just wondering 30Mbps is ok for my usage?
*
You can start with 30mbps. If after a month you feel not enough, upgrade to 100mbps.

Hi people. Currently paying RM350 for 800mbps internet. Saw that now Unifi got some pricing change. My 2 years contract should end by the end of this month.

So how do I change my plan to something cheaper? I don't use the unifi tv.
*
End of this month pay a visit to Tmpoint. Ask for 300mbps RM129.

QUOTE(p1p @ Jul 24 2023, 03:13 PM)
Unifi called.

I'm on 100mbps package for rm129

They're bumping it to 300mbps package for rm30 more plus free tv box!

For the first year they'll give 500mbps free.

How nice!
*
Nice if you need the TV Box. Otherwise 129 300mbps is better.

QUOTE(sheng @ Jul 24 2023, 03:58 PM)
Unifi called..currently i'm on RM 129 for 100MBPs package.
they want to upgrade my speed to 300MBPS for additional RM 20 per month (RM 149) plus free new router and unifi box.
24-months contract of course.
But the interesting part is they said will waive off my bill  TOTALLY for the 2nd-6th months.. means free usage for 5 months.. i confirmed a few times what he said and he reaffirms it... what's the catch on this? biggrin.gif
*
Your offer is indeed better, except without free 500mbps for the first 12 months. Maybe p1p can nego for this if not yet agree with telemarketting CS. After all 300mbps more than enough for most users.

I think nobody can ever get RM159 for 800mbps anymore. You'll have to wait many more round of MSAP reduction for that to happen.

This Starlink is not for places that have fibre or 4g. If you stay in the rural area where you need to climb a tree to get internet, you wil appreciate having satellite internet because nobody will ever invest building 4g 5g infra.
Even then, with such pricing the 100mbps has to be share by whole village.

so evil.

basically barrier of entry to anyone wanting to challenge TM's grip on HSBB.
*
This is why it is not good to have a broadband provider to become the holder of national HSBB. The infra owner come ISP will be the king unless there is another large scale HSBB infra to challenge it.

Tm terminate my house phone they say no longer support copper line. If I still want landline have to subscribe to unifi. So I take 30mbps. Today tm contractor come to my house. They say my house non standard installation. They charge me 60 for 10 meter. They say 1 tiang 40 meter. I thought outside of my house I no need pay. 1 tiang to another tiang is non standard installation,,?
*
Ask for official receipt and check with TM. I also thought outside usually TM will cover, unless there are too many tiang before the fibre reaches your house, then you have to pay.

These prices already inclusive of tax??

Go accompany him to Tmpoint, at least can help talk talk a bit.
