m@nster: yes, without the pin+spring on the right side of the PV, it would rattle and jam inside the chamber. the bike should do no problem cruising at that speed.
with that, please check your block around the PV for damages... This post has been edited by alexei: Jun 7 2011, 08:05 PM |

nabelon: NSR rosak, like how? Need new spares or just tighten some screws?
KIPS ugly? Haha... agree. At certain angle, I quite like it with the headlamp tucked in and the front wheels out, reminds me of 08/09 GSXR. wickedghost: should be ok. but 3yo bike, worry that many parts change to cheap ones, esp internal engine ones. how much? would u cnsdr get a used 2stroke? archonixm: what's your ride? nabelon: On add'l note, I suggest keep the 125z if still mint, esp if the trade in value sux. a tank bike is not always convenient.

akagidemon: i heard older TZM use 2pc powervalve, and that tend to break. But, later model use 1pc which cause air flow restriction... Why NSR leh? I've got not much info on NSR and TXR. I know TXR is the ulti for non-PV bikes, and its feather weight.
wickedghost: ok... talk to the friend about his maintenance record, and the last major service. Ask him about trade in value, and offer another hundred or two. For under 2k, low maintenance bike get a serviced Yamaha SS or RGV from direct owner. With some luck, can get hassle free around ~1.5. Shop in PG asks for 2~2.4+ fully reconditioned. kim_ran: 120/80 is common road tire size; should be cheaper than directional race models. What bike? Front or rear? Ivan7686: Can describe better?
1. You use local or ori TS125 carb? New or used? Did the mechanic re-adjusct the float? Exhaust type? 2. What is the throttle angle when that happens? 1/8, 1/4, 3/8... ? Or you can agak by percentage of full throttle also. 3. Have you tried revert back to stock carb? What happens at all throttle angle? 4. I don't know about MJ/PJ, is that a rich setting? 5. The MJ, is there a pin 1/2/3 notch? Which notch you set at? Added on September 8, 2009, 8:07 pmmizer: bike paint shop or sticker shop lorr... For a 4stroke, that's quite normal. Not sure how true the Kriss... that's 250km/2.78l of fuel, almost like 90km/liter. Which means, can reach KL (400km) with ~4.5liter, RM8 ???

HMMaster: Average 70kmh ah, can try... 4-stroke bikes good at low rpm efficiency. I just pumped 4.6litre for 160km for my RGV...
Ivan: The float is inside the carb. Better don't touch. Are the MJ/PJ with the stock carb? Is it like when you pull throttle to that 1/4, the bike slowly accelerates, and then stays at the certain speed and starts to 'cough'? This is pretty normal. That's not the cruising speed for a bike la, so you either accelerate more, or upshift. My theory is that the engine acceleration and the bike's drag is 'resonating', which is bad in this case. |

alvin: you're right. Those bigger machines out-torque the single cyl 2-strokes 125-150cc u mentioned there. But since you mentioned '2-inline', u may be referring to RS250, TZ250? There are V2 250 2-strokes too. The outcome would've been different, though topspeed still ~200.
stevensteady: without air filter, do u retain the airbox? Air suction creates the 'sok-sok' sound for sure. Same with mushroom filters. You may need to adjust carb needles (mainjet & pilot) jet if you install bigger exhaust to benefit in performance. |

At same RPM, 4 stroke engine fires half the time 2 stroke engine does.
Example: Every 4 stroke, 4stroke engine fired once, but 2 stroke engine already fired twice. 4 stroke engine has intake & exhaust valves that loads the engine as it turns, 2 stroke doesn't. |

To buy bike, I assume you talking direct from seller?
First, transfer insurance to your name or just buy a new one under the buyers name. Then go with seller to JPJ. If the seller and buyer are at JPJ, everything can settle one go. Get the form there, make photocopies of IC, take number and settle... |
