Kingston Hyperx PC2-64000 @ 667 CL5 2T 1.8V
XFX 8800gts 320mb @ 675/1674/1000

I don't get it. Does this separate overclocking technique enable the core to be overclocked higher because the shader:core ratio is reduced? That means, reducing the shader speed so that there is more room for the core speed to be increased? hmm.gif

From the example above, what would be the max core/shader speed as compared to conventional methods of overclocking the GC?

I see. So, the objective is to get the max speed for the core, mem AND shader.

Previously, I thought the high shader speed was limiting my max core as increase in core speed lead to concurrent increase in shader speed.

Thx for the info, will try out these steps later.... now folding... laugh.gif

hence the -1 setup could lead to higher clocks

ati tools is the best way to check ure max heat and overclocked settings.

some cards u need to find a balance between max core and max mem

erm... i'm using 2900xt now, with window vista business edi. i have try to use the ati tools to tweak my card but eavrytime i save the setting it will restore to default... sigh...

its on ure catalyst control
unless ure using 2x6pin then sorry lor..

y not if ure brave enough
download xp
check for ure best clocks
and then flash ure bios...

thats what i do normall.. except for the ultra's cause there was no need.
