Is Mediatek chip any good vs Snapdragon ??

Better than 680, similar to redmi note 8pro/10s since is almost same

Used Mediatek chipsets for both my Realme 6 and Realme 7 5G previously. Performance pretty much on par with SD chips in the same range although I’m not a gamer so can’t comment in that respect. It does run slightly warmer compared to SD for prolonged usage (say a 90 minutes video call) but the GPS lock speed and accuracy is better than SD.

Ps: xiaomi king of rebadging. That china 11 pro/pro+ is also sold in india as Xiaomi 11i/11i hypercharge. Maybe poco can rebrand once again for here (X4 Pro).

for me, i'm okay with this redmi note spec. the upcoming realme 9 pro+ screen i check only 90hz with noticeable large bottom chin so in term of design, redmi note 11 pro still better.

the only downside for me is android 11 miui 13 out of the box whereby other older series get already got the latest android 12 update. i know that android version doesnt play much important role in miui but for a latest device like this, still a let down

If you plan to use the phone long term then the Poco introductory offer may be a better deal coz you are getting 8/256 for RM1,249 where else the RN11 Pro 5G is 8/128 at RM1,299 with all the free gifts of course. Yeah. Before I got the Nord CE I was considering that. But I already had X3 Pro then. Now the F3 is in my list since I gave the X3 Pro to my grandniece. Am also looking at the 11T Pro. I actually still have my main phone which is presently Note 20Ultra so don’t want to spend too much whilst waiting for the iPhone.

Wow, if I’m not mistaken we got the Nord CE at around the same time and you still have yours with you? That’s some amazing perseverance I sold mine after 3 months or so… It’s a competent phone if a little uninspiring - but then again, so are most midrange phones. After the Nord CE I had a short stint with the Poco F3 and am now using the Samsung A52S 5G as my work phone - while my personal phone is still an iPhone. I think the days of me switching my personal phone from Apple to Android and back to Apple again are over - have gotten too invested in the Apple ecosystem over the past couple of years in times of Covid - got myself a pair of AirPods Pro, an iPad Pro 11 and subscribed to Apple One in the past couple of years… And to make matters worse, am now eyeing the new MacBook Pro to replace my ageing MacBook Air

I think I’ll most likely skip the Redmi Note 11 Pro and the Poco X4 Pro coz my recent stints with the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Poco F3 kinda suggests that the ownership experience won’t be much different. I do have the S22 Ultra on the way which would be my first Samsung flagship since the disappointing Note 10 Plus - my last ever Exynos powered Samsung, hahaha… but for midrange phones, I’m actually waiting for the Realme 9 Pro+ to be launched here officially - hope the price won’t be too crazy.

Yes, the Nord CE serves me well as reception and battery life are very good. And since I have other phones, was contented.

As you might know, I sold my iPhone 12 Pro Max in less than 24 hours because of the size. Wanted another iPhone and waited for the 13 Pro, not the max. Then news emerged that the 14 is without the notch. So, decided to wait for it. But now a bit restless. Want to get a mid range phone for the time being. But because iPhone 14 Pro is smaller, I now am looking for a bigger sized phone.

Though I used to have a MB Air plus an iPad when I was using an iPhone, never got into their eco system. I in fact just sold my iPad Air 4 and replaced it with a Pro 12.9, again due to the size. I am not brand loyal. Much more into aesthetics and specs relevant to my wants. So Realme 9 Pro because of its big chin, is not my cup of tea. Have my eye on Oppo Reno 7 Pro. Perhaps you should take a look at that.

Ah OK, I thought you got the 13 Pro or Pro Max after you sold your 12 Pro Max I tried the 13 Pro Max for a couple of months before passing it to my wife. The phone's battery life is spectacular but beyond that, nothing to shout about compared to the 12 Pro Max. I can't really appreciate the high refresh rate display Hmm... that's an interesting suggestion.. I'll check out the Reno 7 Pro and see.. To be honest, I've not tried an Oppo or a Vivo phone so far - never really liked their UI previously but I heard it's improved since. Do tag me if you've already bought and tried the phone. Cheers!

heard the phone great for daily use, not so for gaming... for me its ok, i mainly use for movie, FB & phone call.

May be vanila version already overkill for daily use. Recently just get one for my old man, very impressive battery life, nice screen, fast charging, nice and loud speaker.

So first need break down into 3 different regions managed by 3 different teams

China mainland (lead by lu weibing)
India region
Global regions (including Europe EEA)

Each regions having different product mix so each models/sub models can belong to one region. But also can belong to 2 regions or more (eg RN 11 Pro+ is same in china and global, but different model in india)

Let's don't ever talk about Poco (for indian and global only)
This brand brings complication to whole lineup with endless rebadging. When was last time Poco released original model? Lol

One issue is Xiaomi didn’t explicitly tell if a model is for a specific region.

Take vanilla Note11 for example, both global and China have a model called Note12 but they’re both totally different phones.

There are two note 11 versions in china
4g version is called redmi 10/10 prime elsewhere

5g version is rebadged many times as
Poco M4 Pro 5G
Redmi note 11T (india)
And now Redmi note 11S 5G with one more macro lens

If xiaomi to explicit tell the region the naming could be even messier

Just received the vanilla RedmiNote11 (rocking SD680 one).

The phone totally blew my mind off, the display is gorgeos and the build is splendid. The phone feels snappy and the touch feels responsive. Day and night different from Redmi10c which I gotten a week earlier.

Totally didn't see that coming cause both phones are rocking the same SD680 and Note11 actually have to push for more pixels and strain the weak Adreno610 GPU even more.

I'll say Note11 definitely worth the price premium over Redmi10c, even if you're solely looking for a budget phone for those undemanding; you get so much extra and refinement for a little more.

10c also identical on the ufs, though my note11 is 6+128 vs my redmi10c is 4+64

i have a question, why Xiaomi official store in shopee selling Redmi Note 11 at RM799 (6g+128gb), but other shopee sellers are able to sell it at RM719 ? Where does those sellers got their stocks?

The price is just "manufacturer suggested retail price" (MSRP) set by xiaomi and enforced only on official xiaomi store.

Other retailers can price lower as long as they want to

I found as low as 719 for the same spec of 799. Good customer reviews also, not fake phone. Then got 10% cashback. So nett price only 647

Usually Xiaomi official store has free gifts, especially the earbuds.

Market price around RM700 before further discount.

I gotten mine for RM489 on LZD bday sale. Even if you don't go super hardcore discount like I did, RM550+/- is still easily achievable back then.

I thought the Note 11 pro + is on sale today but check at Lazada shows all model is OOS

Vanilla 6+128GB note11 if you can find them cheap under RM600.

Only 2 major cons:
1. No 5G and wifi6
2. Adreno610 is obsolete antique due for replacement and barely fit for year 2022 usages.

For elderly those points may be moot or not as important.

Unless you really need the slightly better camera, else it’s really hard to recommend all those over RM1k redmi/poco since Poco F3 is available for just around RM1k.

Retail price for 6+128GB model is RM799, which I’ll say it’s a little too steep. If you can make it to Sunway Pyramid, can order it online and self pick-up at retail, currently they have offer of RM800-150, just sweet enough for Note11 (you need to add one additional RM1+ item lah).

Oh nvm, they just made your life easier by mark up the RM1 so it sell at RM800 instead of RM799 now.

Hi, just bought Redmi Note 11 Pro 5g from Shopee, said it is Original Xiaomi Malaysia set. Everything's fine just that i couldnt find Shopee app in Playstore, if click thru link in google search, Playstore will show "this item is not available in your country." The phone is set to MY region though. Already hard reset and tried again, still same. For now i can install Shopee app thru HuaweiAppGallery. Anyone experience the same?
