I am late 30s now and planning to have a baby but I worry we cannot take it financially since having baby will destroy my career by means of stagnating and consuming all my energy and money to relax. Plus I am sure I will get laid off like many of my mama friends. Is there any mama here in their 50s now that can share their experience, only those who gave birth to first bb at late 30s and early 40s. I don't want to listen to those that just give birth cause you are just starting and also as clueless as me. please tell me what to expect.

40ish parents of two year old twins

Financially I can give them everything. Best toys, best food, best medical

But really no energy to give them full attention all the time

Had my 1st child when I was 36 and 2nd child when I was 39. It is extremely tiring having to take care of a child at this age, but it is the best thing that happened to me.

if u conceive before, very high chance..

furthermore, you can conceive quite well into the mid 40s.. the question is whether you can carry the baby to full term and whether it is healthy..

Money is important whne you start a family.

Career need to take a back seat if u wanna put family first, which I highly encourage cos I thoroughly enjoyed my time with my babies. I know if I do not spend the time with them whne younger they will not be close to me when older, so whne I retire, I will not have any meaningful conversation with them, I learnt this because my mom nv spent time being a friend or having a good communication with all of us so now, all of us dont really talk to her or tell her anything major that's happening in our lives.
