Yes my siu wan is a white ms. the dame is from HK and, take this, was clearly written as WHITE (or was it SILVER). And yet she got an MKA cert... I'll tell you all right now that the MKA's probably corrupt dodgy as hell

Anyway, the white MS thingy will alway be debated, see
http://www.mscc.ca/white.htmlI'm not too sure about white boxers but in the case of the MS i've noticed two clear groups - the nays and the yays. The nays are normally yanks, and the yays normally european. The yanks (as in the link i gave) always fall back onto their AKC standard but will conveniently dismiss the 'black and silver ms' as 'oh, sudah lama or'.
The Europeans on the other hand methinks defend the white as some of their champion stock have the recessive gene.
Both sides ego ler... IMHO if the colouration is not an albino (ie unpigmented) and is not linked to any genetic health defects (which is the case of the MS) the colour should be given recognition.
HAhaha... I guess MKA gila gila a bit lah. White MS is pretty, but the way Malaysias put prices on something uncommon is a bit overboard. Like PetsWonderland Mid Valley, white boxer put as RM3.5k! In fact, locally some breeders selling only Rm800 or RM600 for white boxers. Because boxers that have more than 30% of white on them are normally disqualified, and the white boxers come about from breeding a flashy boxer with another flashy boxer, so the pigment gene becomes less in 1 of the pups born. Sorry if I said mutation before

... me only know here and there, but general info only on most breeds. Knowing a breed takes tones of research. Thank you for giving those links.
I know white MS won't have any genetic health defects.... but then there is a possibility that white dogs can be born deaf, like dalmations, white shepherds.... some lah, not all will be like that. Even white cats are prone to be born death. I guess maybe this is also the reason why the Americas do not want to recognize it as a colour too?
For me, as long I get what I pay for, then it is worth the money. Good breeders that love their dogs, take good care and gives good quality stock are what we all should support.... don't get from those that breed for money.

Incidently i have also noticed a few interesting differences between the american and european bloodlines (methinks anyways)... american champion lines will almost always have erect mickey mouse ears! I think this is due to the fact that ear cropping is allowed in the US and they prefer the 'sleek action man' look. Over in Europe where cropping is illegal however, their champs are almost always of the droopy ear variety and as these are often used as breeding stock, their puppies often dun have the mickey mouse ears. From what i have observed from ppls ms certs anyways...
Also methinks a docked tail is part of the AKC standard... and as tail docking is now illegal in the UK, UK dogs can no longer enter US confirmation shows?
Baahh... dogs also so much politics... cyy... what about boxers?
In Europe, boxers also have their natural ears and undock tails.... my boxer has a docked tail but the ears are naturally droppy....
Yah, because those erect ears look so big and weird, that is why they crop. Also, it was a fashion back then. There was 1 article I read before somewhere about why they dock tails and crop ears.... some say the ears get in the way when the dog fights or hunts.... and the tails get damaged when they run in thick bushes. So that is why they were docked and cropped. I only think all this started because people wanted the breed to look classy and for fashion. Like in some horses, they are docked as well till no tail, but that was long long time ago, now nobody practice this on horses I think.
Europe and a few other countries have banned the tail docking and ear cropping.
Wah, good lah you study the line. Now you make me curious, feel like researching more later on when I am free.
Dogs memang got politics wan.... all coz of kennel clubs hahahah....
