Hoho.... one BIG BIG info that person missed out. White MS cannot be registered under MKA, so won't have cert. Same with White boxer! Even if their parents got cert and all, the colour is disqualified from breeding and also showing. So it really has little value to dog shows and in US or some other countries, they always give away the white dogs that got no cert as FREE or with a small adoption fee. Even if she wanna sell, RM800 is still ok.... but to jack it up to RM1k or more, that is plain ridiculous....

Some breeders cheat with cert also. If the puppy is born white, they will cheat the cert by showing MKA another puppy but that puppy is Salt and Pepper.... then in the cert, it won't actually be true coz it is registered for a salt and pepper instead of a white.

White dogs that are borned to standard colours normally are born with the lack of the pigmentation gene. So breeding them is a big NO to lessen this mutation gene.

That seller is bogus, I guess she wants to make extra money. You know what, could you please post this at that thread? Then after you post, I will close it coz the selling trade is like a lie already and it is not allowed in LYN.

My friend bred boxer once in Australia.... she said when got white boxer puppy, she neuter or spay it and give away free. She said some owners are worst, they will ask the vet to put to sleep or they kill them themselves coz no value and they do not want to lose money.... But I realize in Asian countries, many people would keep the white puppies and resell at very high price to say rare and special.... but yah lah, special but don't lah use them for money making right?

Very true regarding the certificate on white MS... I was lazy explaining to the seller regarding this, and she keep insisted it is very rare, and one with cert can sell at 3-4k. There might be cases where the white MS have cert written as "Salt & Pepper"... but that is just not right in my opinion.

She didnt actually say so lah... but then suddenly she refuse to sell, because a lot people interest with the puppy... then lastly tell me, if want to buy must take the "grey" one also.. because if I dont take the grey, the grey one nobody wants

gotta correct you there cyy... white is recognised except in the US and by default M'sia.
if you google you WILL find white MS champions...
siu wan's cert lists her as salt n pepper but when i asked the mka about this they decided to stamp her cert 'not for breeding'

agree with you that anything 'rare' in m'sia will have its price jacked up

But I have read quite a lot sayings... there is not much different in health comparing the white and the other colour... the only differents is the colour!! Why white is not accepted in the begining? It is said that they want to create a mini version of the standard schnauzer, and since white isn't a standard schnauzer's colour, so it shouldn't "exist" in the mini version too.

well , i thk they got their rules regarding the standard ... so , it might juz out of wat the so called "shnauzer" ... unless a new breed call white shnauzer in the list of MKA ... n i've heard b4 a new breed nid few generation to b created ... which mean if the white shnauzer able to born whte shnauzer as well rather than born a normal shnauzer ... then the creation of new breed succed ... i thk it should b ths reason gua ...

there are actually some people in the USA breed white schnauzers regardless of being recognise or not ahh.. but I think to be accepted for the breed colour or new breed takes a long long long time. Even the black and silver mini schnauzer wasn't recognised in the early years, and took quite sometime before being accepted.

Anyway, breeding white MS can just produce more whites, they may not even look standard sometimes. White dogs are very prone to be born Deaf or blind, or both traits! Some would also have sensitive skin against sunlight. This is why they are not recognized as standard, also by not breeding them, we won't have so many dogs with problems later on.

Anyway, my info I have is based on boxer coz I did research on that. Alot of people think white boxers are albinos but they are not, just they lack the pigmentation gene only..... so maybe MS is different lah but still, it is really wrong to jack up the price. A dog lover would not do that, dog seller that sells for money would loh I guess.
