Why does updates take soooo long to download! so annoying! wanted to play Resistance online, that also must update... and its only like 20% now...

I cannot belief this, my ps3 cannot read disk after i upgrade the firmware. I try COD4 and resistance, it shows nothing at the game section

After the upgrade restart, I try to play online COD4, but it stuck at "Download Game Setting" then I restart the PS3. After that no more shows the disk.

Huh?!?! Can somebody else confirm this please? Lucky I didn't pull the trigger yet

I dont think because of the firmware update. Mayb its my luck it happen during the firmware update. I blame the cheap sony for putting cheapo lense. Still got waranty from benard, but the waiting is a killer.

AYO! It disconnected! Forget it! Dont wana play Resistance online... too long to download... Using streamyx... not too sure abt speed tho... uhh... 708.2kbps according to a test i just ran using this PC...

I updated to 2.01 and Resistance works for me... havent tried NFS Pro Street... those r the only games i got...

Mine was SG unit, 80G. The funny thing is I only used my PS3 to play COD4, resistance and black hawk down BD. Itu pn cannot tahan

Really ar bro? mine's 60gb HK unit last time used until now also no problem at all. How come ? I play ps2 ori final fantasy X also can. No. Problem with the lens

Can anyone check whether sony change lens supplier like they did for the PSP screens? Last time was Sharp , now all running Samsung LCD for their made in china psp.

Izzit? How come todays Star In-Tech announced on the front top page, ps3 already supports Divx for the next update>?

Wah. Your set is pratically brand new! some forum discussion indicate either the tape or lense of the BD-ROM drive giving problems. all the best with your RMA process.

Some also suggested try to backup your gamesaves, then reformat the HDD and reset the PS3 back to factory/default settings.

I think "next" here means in the future. Moreover 2.01 is just a minor update to fix a few problems associated with 2.00

ya la.. the media and most of u all jus waiting the divx and thn later get disappointed.. sony is still in talking terms ma wit divx. where got so fast one.. people draft agreement also belum habis yet. u wall want divx with the firmware.

to those downloading through the hardware. really advice u to download manually. only took me half an hour for the whole file.. wat more for u all 1mb people. even faster.. . .. but i hvnt tried any games. jus upload and update..

The console will download updates from the region associated with the console. I download manually from UK server because it always takes a long time for my PS3 to update automatically from Japan server

sabar la.. still in talking terms.. no contract or agreement can happen so fast ler... sony needs to cover all loopholes. and drafting those kinda contracts isnt easy.. royalties and all plus now 360 wanna implement it also.

500KBps from UK server.. 20KBps from Japan server

no wonder.....
