can i have a rough idea about what we going to do on first day of orientation?
*
During my time(May 2009 intake), the 1st thing in the event is performance then speech, then performance again......
Then some briefing about the school........
Then perhaps playing some games.....
Did my course selection on the 1st day as well.......

Therefore, second day is not so important already compared to day 1........

@angie89

yes you are right. formal each day. almost. unless you dont have any class but labs. then you just need lab coats.

@yinyin27

i think the contract last for 2 semester. so 2 semester k not one.

@Calvin_PB

i second you. no point renting under ucsi.

@patricktiew

formal attire would be good. you can wear casual but i bet almost everyone would be wearing formal. there will a photo session like the class photo you took in high sch if they are still doing that each year. you surely dont want to be the outstanding one being the one not wearing formal. it make you look weird too.

you will be told about second day attire during the first day.

@pochicat

most people go for angkasa condo. some go for taman connaught, puncak bayan and sri cenkiawan or cendawan (not sure).

be fast as almost every room is running out fast.

you made a good choice choosing pharmacy over food sci. don worry. you can see there are quite a few here going to be your coursemate as well

@patricktiew

i am not sure about that though. last year i was there before the actual orientation day. so i dont have a problem like urs.

@pochicat

you can take the LRT to bandar tasik selatan station then you can take UCSI shuttle bus or taxi or bus. Taxi would cost not more than rm7. normally it is around rm5. if the taxi decided to go by their machine, then it would be cheaper. but normally they wont.

if you have luggage with you, it would be better to just take the taxi. if the taxi ask which ucsi, just say the south wing one.

try to at least wear half formal-short sleeve without tie on first day as there will be likely a photo session. all of you will be given a briefing on dress code the first day.

residential hall contract is a little shorter than the angkasa contract. few of my friend in residential hall have to move out before their final because their contract ended. for angkasa, they calculate it by number of days, i forget the number but it is 2 semester. the number is in the application form though but i think it is at least safe to say you are going to struck with them for around 2 semester

Added on June 26, 2009, 2:35 pmi mean medic and pharmacy student with the term "all of you" in all of you will be given a briefing on dress code...

iron no, angkasa provide heater, bed, small study table, plastic chair, pillow, bed sheet, no blanket, dining table chair and sofa. that is all. oh ya, not forgetting a washing machine.

my friend do still have 1 small tiny room at taman connaught. he said renting out cheap the last time i hear from him. well, staying with 2 medic and 3 pharmacy students is quite a good deal.

@onelove89
med , pharm and nursing have the same orientation on the first day only

erm ucsi university in kl has two campus... one at north wing and one at south wing. i don't get what you mean by which one is nearer... it depends on which campus you're studying i guess.
