sorry I dont understand by looking at the data. can you explain?
*

Maybe showing how MOCN works?

Like if you insert Celcom SIM, you should get Celcom PLMN (502 19) when connected to DNB's network. Same goes for other telco.

Some phones may see Yes PLMN (502 152) instead even with non-Yes SIM due to DNB set that as primary PLMN & these phones have issues with MOCN data reading thing

what's the different between this 2 locations. both show data is NR NSA. but the network, one is YesFT5G and the other is Yes 4G. 🤔

just got some time to test my digi sim,
able to lock LTE n28 but not NR n28
speedtest is 50Mbps ++

later try maxis sim if can lock to LTE n28 or not

updated : Same for Maxis, only can lock to Band 28 LTE, not NR

I believe the network is ready already, just not for UE to register on the 5G network

updated 2: just tried my unifi mobile sim, it is UNABLE to lock to LTE BAND 28 nor NR BAND 28, when tried to lock to LTE BAND 28, it becomes Celcom 4G 700Mhz and not able to register my phone to the 4G network, it seems that unifi is not ready yet for DNB 5G
*

Didn't Unifi Mobile said they only give 5G access for postpaid customer first?

Does it show gNB ID (gCellID) on top side of NSG app? If it does then it is SA

Please record it with CellMapper if you can

think Malaysia turn off 3G too fast in less than a year. while some other countries like Singapore will gradually turn off 3G over several years.

wondering what happens to the freed-up 3G spectrum 🤔 are the spectrum returned to MCMC or the existing telcos are repurposing them for 4G?
*

The telcos already repurposing it for 4G since starting 3G shutdown

but still got a lot of dead spots no 4G connection and drop to Edge. some place got good signal but cannot use.
*

The telcos repurposes 3G spectrum to increase 4G bandwidth, not magically fix dead spots & problematic areas

Of course it is telco's responsibility to patch up dead spots & problematic places with new cell towers, capacity increase, etc.

Will maxis use 4G+ or 4.5G? I checked the website and the speed can p to 1 GB?

Hmm... I feel Maxis has something to wreck DNB 5G and Umobile follows Maxis. LOL
*

All six already have 4.5G/4G+ already.... and it's not that easy to get gigabit LTE compared to 5G

can the 4G spectrum in Malaysia support 4/5 CA afterall it is being split among the 6 telco 🤔
*

CDMU should do 4xCA now I think. Even Yes can potentially do 5xCA (20+38+40+40+40, only possible in West Malaysia), but they choose not to.

If Celcom-Digi merger does go through, they can do 5xCA with the spectrum (1+3+3+7+8)

Pretty much all 6 telco reached point of no return for 5G offering... so all of them will do so

At first i tot because my plan is unlimited 20Mbps so maybe they throttle it
After i buy data plan with quota still like this
5G NSA

Could be because you are connected to n1, speed just like LTE B1. Find one with n41 (100MHz BW), also many of their n41 towers are standalone capable

I believe DNB shows the wider LTE B28 coverage on the map... because DNB's coverage map is in line with what I've observed with my own testing (manually locked my phone to LTE B28 only & circling around the tower with CellMapper open).

Depends, it's already known YES lame 5G network throttles you by your device IMEI and therefore ever since their network switched over/equipment replacement for their 5G network they've filtered lots of devices out from their compatibility list forcing you to only buy their products or compatible phones.

I was previously on their Kasi Up 49 Postpaid plan enjoying their 100GB monthly quota which supports hotspot usage legally because pure quota based also got throttled down to 1Mbps speeds with my 4G modem which made they untrusted company which forces old customers to either comply to only use their modem with contract or move out.

When it detects your phone/modem device is not in their small lame list of compatible devices which they don't like you owning for contract freedom  they'll start throtling your device and their customer rep will just tell you your equipment is "not in their compatible list".

The whole idea is to force you to only use their 5G modem is because of the 2 years contract which requires FULL remaining months commitment if you terminate early.

A modded modem simply isnt considered illegal. It just spoofs/imitates the IMEI of a compatible device to circumvent the troublesome throttling which you're already entitled to use when paying for your service no difference from others. Meaning if a modem's IMEI is modded with a Apple iPhone IMEI, the ISP network will be tricked into thinking you're using a iPhone n their network and if it's in their compatibility list you'll pass/avoid throttling.
*

Telco do have other means to detect usage in a modem, not just by simply checking IMEI number

Spoofing IMEI number isn't enough

Of course I'm not telling. I'm just telling you the limitation of this method which actually make your honest customers more infuriated.

Why after the switch to 5G equipment for Yes 5G made many complaints for Yes. They nail their own foot.
*

Honestly, I am not surprised that the line got throttled because I know somewhere that 100GB plan is really meant to be used on phones only since day 1 although they didn't mention about that in TnC.

Didn't DNB already do n78 from day 1??? Because there is no way B28 anchor band can achieve that gigabit speeds on its own.

On the other hand, you might need to try CellMapper beta so that MCC & MNC shows up instead of ? marks

Not DNB issue, it is the responsibility of 6 telcos that needs to submit updated carrier profile details to Apple

PSA for those using CellMapper website/app:

CellMapper removed the DNB (502 159) map from its website (it's obsolete anyway as DNB discontinued usage of that PLMN). So to view data for DNB, you need to select Yes (502 152) under "Provider" menu and Band 28 under "Band" menu. It should list towers with B28 only (eNB 7xxxxx) with separate B28 signal trails.

Note that DNB set Yes PLMN as primary PLMN, so apps like CellMapper may see Yes PLMN instead when connected to DNB network (if you use non-Yes SIM) because some Android devices have problem with reporting MOCN cell towers to apps.

It didn't say directly that 100Mhz is reserved for further 5G development

Have to know currently only implemented TDD 100Mhz of n78 and it was allocated 200Mhz for n78.

Thanks for the point out
*

Well, there isn't any clear evidence yet for another 100MHz channel in use... if it is, DNB must have enabled NR-CA (most likely n78C) and we're seeing someone hitting 2-3Gbps++ on DNB network

Current setup maxes out at around 1.5Gbps I think.

Generally, one needs RM2000++ phone for n78C support... such as POCO F4 GT, iPhone 13 series and newer & Galaxy S22 series (not sure about S21 series)
