Yes. Other teams tried to catch us out before by having runners through the middle, but they got matched for speed by our CB or Ali coming out. Pep put players on the byline level with our defense and played out wide to beat offside trap before the center runners move forward. Ali can't do shit when the players beat our office trap in wide out areas.

I don't agree if this is the reason. Since his contract stuff was leaked by his agent, and he went to Afcon and back, he hasn't been doing his part on the pitch. He used to push defenders back at least, win some corners, pull defenders out of position.. now defenders just stand him off and he pass back infield or backwards. There was one moment today where Mane was driving to penalty area and passed him the ball and instead of continue pushing he laid it off back to midfield.
I don't know but at this rate, I'm more worried on other players morale while he keeps playing at this kind of form.

I thought we were really clueless until Klopp changed to 4231. Diaz really made them defend and with Origi up top we had a focus and permanent presence on their box instead of the usual 433.
No sympathy for Everton not because they came to defend, but their playacting. I dare say if they hadn't act so much on the first half, ref would've given them a pen for Matip's push.
