BTW, depending on how & where you drive. If just normal city drive with greater safety features, Perodua Myvi would be a better choice.
If want a higher seating feel, then go for Ativa. BTW, do take note that due to turbo engine & bigger wheel size in long term the maintenance might be higher compare to Myvi if you want to considerate all the factors. Lower maintenance side Myvi will be the better 1.

QUOTE(fireballs @ Nov 25 2021, 12:34 AM) Do check if your needs change as well Do you have kids, more long journeys etc Maybe both car also don't serve you well Perhaps a 7seater? Pickup truck? Full size sedan? Not married, single and always drive alone in the city only. Occasionally cruising on highway on weekend for short trip.

Well, if you dont need the extra space, get the Ativa. Myvi's 1.5 will be obsolete and replaced by the 1.0T for next generation. At least you still have the latest technology when the myvi is replaced by newer generation model.

for more city driven i would say myvi
if u are dealing with more off road like kampung road, altiva , since it is higher clearance
maintenance wise, a car without turbo is cheaper to maintain for mechanical part
road tax RM20 vs RM90 yearly
me myself looking for myvi next year, not to the highest spec since cruise control quite useless for my family as the car mostly used for city driven

QUOTE(pcdoctor_my @ Nov 25 2021, 08:58 AM) Let me comment a thing or two. Downsized engines does not save fuel and give power concurrently. Its either you drive like you stole it or drive sanely. And usually those who own with turbo mostly won't drive leisurely. If you gonna drive sanely might as well go for 1.5L NA. Otherwise defeat the purpose of a turbo engin and defeat the purpose of saving fuel because of a smaller engine. Go and survey Civic 1.5T owners, see what's their town driving FC. Only town driving. Don't quote those Highway FC. The FC drinks more or less like a 2.0L. Reported real life FC is 15km/l city drive isn't it? A bit worse than myvi

Won't obsolete so soon lah for God King. P2 just recently launched new facelifted Myvi with most 'hated' CVT tranny tech paired with the NA engine and updated ASS-A 3.0. Expect the Myvi 1.5 engine to stay much longer This post has been edited by pcdoctor_my: Nov 25 2021, 03:58 PM

Crossover on a highway sounds like a good idea, but unlike X50/HRV/CX3, Ativa is a lightweight car that weighs barely a tonne.
Tall + boxy + lightweight + highway is never a good idea.
It's good for city driving with elevated seating position and higher ground clearance, but for general usage the Myvi would be better.

i testdrove the 1.5NA 4AT g3 and Ativa, main noticeable different is the NVH. myvi engine sound is so loud and underpower even for a 1.5 compared with ativa 1.0turbo cvt. Ativa NVH is way better than the myvi. spec wise ofcourse ativa, alot fancy and latest tech stuff. which the new myvi now have but no armrest.
and i think you've already made your choices,

Getting Started

imo ativa lah, ativa has alot of small improvement to quality of life when you drive compare to myvi. suspension is one, myvi crashy suspension and ativa is slightly better since its taller car and using DNGA platform.
things like center arm rest, cup holders at useable locations and more storage spaces at the centre console area also will help your daily life greatly. myvi has none of that.
also myvi the seat is very short so your thighs wont get proper support and easy to get tired after driving awhile.

Ativa with DNGA platform basically give you a better or more premium feel while driving. There is a marked difference between the old and new platform.
For long term ownership, just get the Ativa and forget about the price diff.

QUOTE(gooroojee @ Nov 25 2021, 10:29 AM) Reported real life FC is 15km/l city drive isn't it? A bit worse than myvi Nope, worse. As reported by WapCar , around 11-12km/L city driving. QUOTE Our Ativa is filled with RON95 at RM2.05 per litre and we’ve spent a sum of RM 1,461.49 based on the receipt total.
An observation is that when we drove the Ativa in stop-go city traffic, the fuel consumption soared to 8 – 9 L/100 km. Only on smooth highway journeys at a constant speed, the fuel consumption dipped below 7 L/100 km. ...
To this date, we fail to achieve Perodua’s claimed figures of 18.9 km/L or 5.29 L/100 km.
From our experience so far, we can conclude that the Ativa is not very efficient in stop-go traffic and the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo works best cruising at 80 – 110 km/h.

QUOTE(dares @ Nov 25 2021, 11:04 AM) Tall + boxy + lightweight + highway is never a good idea. I thought so too but after borrowing my daughter Ativa for 2 weeks, some spirited driving on the Highway proved me wrong. Best cruising speed is ard 140 kmh and the new platform is a gem compared to myvi. 70% highway got me ard 15kml only but mostly over 4000 rpm

QUOTE(littlefire @ Nov 25 2021, 08:52 AM) If you compare to Perodua Aruz or even Mitsubishi Xpander both of them overall in term of safety or drivability also better compare to it.. Is no brainer to buy Honda br-v nowadays.. The competition from others already topple it.. No brainer = little or no mental effort needed = definitely should do
