you can't.
"This item is not available for reservation in your country"
either use forwarder and pay the tax or wait for steamdeck to launch,
maybe then they give us the option.
Remember steam controller?

They will. But don't expect warranty to be given.

Never thought there were other folks interested in the Deck other than me around here. I'm basically waiting for my turn in the queue, after the delay. Was Q1 2022, now Q2 2022 after the 2 months delay. Deposited 5 dollars to Valve to secure my position, well technically I have someone over in the States I trust to do that since I need a proper address and and properly receive the Deck when it ships (in case it delays again).

Until my 512GB unit ships from Valve, I'm making do with this.

I cannot do the eGPU stuff with the Steam Deck since it doesnt have Thunderbolt4 connectivity. Will have to rely solely on the custom AMD's Aerith APU on the Deck to run the games.

Deck run on SteamOS, fork of Arch Linux rather that de facto Windows OS. Game has to build for SteamOS too, so game titles are limited.
You can install other OS but you might run into driver issue, and Windows on deck is rather bad idea, especially Win10 and 11 both are power virus.

received your steam deck yet?

I just got mine yesterday, 6/3/2022.
Been installing some games but have not played a lot on it yet.
Tried Metal Slug X on it and liked it very much.
Felt natural when playing. I think I like this more than Nintendo Switch OLED.

Not in any hurry to get mine, after I got my Z13.

Goes everywhere with me and not power constrained like the Deck either.

My Deck reservation slipped to Q3 already, by that time Valve is in danger of being overtaken by AyaNeo 2 as the most powerful handheld PC in the market. If they delay my reservation anymore, I'm heading to AyaNeo 2. Power of choice back in the hand of the consumer. Valve can continue staggering their Deck production at the detriment of their own Deck being eclipsed by other RDNA2 handheld coming at the end of this year. lol.gif

I'm not dropping the notion of getting a handheld PC (I'm still using my OneXPlayer 1165G7), and I'm still keeping my Q3 Deck reservation. Just that a Deck is not a Deck if the only way to own one is by paying USD1700. The Deck is not just about PC portable gaming, it's also about keeping that portable gaming priced reasonably. If my choice is restricted to only getting a Deck 2 months ago by getting it for USD1700, I rather spend that USD1700 on something like the Z13. Which I did.

Moral of the story? Value is subjective, I'm not willing to be slaughtered at the neck, no matter how much more portable it is, to get a relatively underpowered device, versus other options I can spend the amount people are asking for a Deck now.

What I like is the longer I'm made to wait to get my Q3 Deck reservation, the more my option opens up as more and more handheld PC (from Aya Neo, Ayn, OneXPlayer, GPDWin) enters the market. I guess the big question is, can you wait that long? The recent years with the torture endured to get a PS5, an XSX and an RTX3080Ti GPU and how long I had to wait for them, has made the wait for my Q3 Deck EASY.

I guess in my case, the wonder and enjoyment of owning a handheld PC is not as exciting anymore, I got my OneXPlayer 1165G7 in July last year 2021. I was one of their earliest backer on Indiegogo. Even that I'm not slaughtered price-wise either, early bird backers get almost 40% off retail price. I get the excitement, I see the potential of handheld PCs, but it's not worth getting slaughtered in price over that excitement. At least that's how I see it.

so far, I am liking my deck.
When there are other options in future, I'll probably get one if I like it.
maybe I will start a collection of pc handhelds then. icon_rolleyes.gif

But to be honest, I wanted deck but then some of the games that my son were interested in, are nintendo exclusive. That's why I bought nintendo switch a couple of months ago. started collecting some switch games now.

wow, USD1700 is nuts for deck. I got mine for about $700 after adding tax.

as for your OneXPlayer 1165G7, do you have Steam, BattleNet and Epic Games installed on it? Since this handheld runs on Windows 10, these should be ok to run right? I have games in these and will try to install them on the deck soon, if possible at all.

Indeed USD1700 is nuts for a Deck. There are local "entrepreneurs" here selling their Deck allotment for RM7999 for the 512GB version, comes with precursor "dont be angry with the price" disclaimer.

RM7999 is more than USD1700, would you get a Deck or a Z13 at that price? rclxub.gif

As for my OneXplayer, since I got my Z13, my OneXPlayer is permanently in this position:

user posted image

Its duty is now the eGPU host for my RTX3080Ti in eGPU mode (Razer Core X Chroma eGPU enclosure).

i7-1165G7 16GB RAM + RTX3080Ti eGPU gives me Forza Horizon 5 running at 3840 x2160 4K Extreme/Max Preset 65-71fps.

If I ever want to feel "nostalgic" running FH5 at Deck's 800p resolution on low settings with "playable" 35-45fps, I can just use the OneXPlayer by itself if I like lol.gif, but now with Z13 in my family of portables, I dont have to. FH5 on Z13 gives me 1080p at High settings 61-67fps. Then watch "Uncharted" 4K movie rip in Dolby Vision, since the Z13 is Dolby Vision certified.

TLDR: I game and "do PC-related things" more comfortably on my Z13. At the price of less than the Deck local scalper price. Win?

So, you see why I'm in no hurry to get my Q3 Deck. By the time that happens, other newer, more powerful handheld PC would be close to release. I can always scalp my Q3 Deck here or on eBay/Carousell seeing how willing folks here pay for theirs. (USD649+ tax + shipping) versus RM7999? Healthy profit for a secondhand Deck right? brows.gif Then use that profit to buy the more powerful Aya Neo 2? More win? tongue.gif

TLDR: Cant beat em', join em'. Well, at least "thank them sarcastically" for keeping the resale price high above MSRP/RRP brows.gif

Carousell already have users selling their steam deck. I saw one personal item and another I'm assuming from a shop.
