I understand that feeling too! I sold off most of my consoles (last was a PS4) because they are really sitting there collecting dust. I realize I didnt switch them ON for months at times.
As for my gaming PC, at least I can still use it for other multimedia stuff so it stays. But again, I dont have time to boot it up and play hours of gaming now. When I do have time after work, I rather be sitting together in the living room with loved ones. But I do miss gaming. I havent got the Switch because the exclusives games are just too childish for my taste. I might try BOTW on the Deck though (emulation). My last portable was the PSP.
Now I can at least sit together in the living room, although playing game, but at least still can talk and laugh at jokes together.

Was initially considering Steam deck before. But once saw the new Ryzen 6800U in action, immediately switched my interest towards the later Win mobile handheld rather than Steam deck. Reason being the deck is weak comparing to those new handheld which equipment with Ryzen Zen3+ 6800U RND2 chipset. Another problem with deck is it runs Linux OS rather than Win10/11. This making compatibility an issue for me. Noted that with some tinkering, you can get window to work in deck but not so convenient as the unit with native windows support. I have Epic, Steam, Origin, Ubi connect and whole slews of emulators with me. Native windows support is a major factor for me.
AyaNeo2 is best but the long waiting time is killing me and the screen can be a bit too small for me. I have 2 Nintendo Switch (original and OLED version), I know how important bigger screen is better for me. Hence, I got myself a GPD Win Max2.
This unit can work as office productivity laptop and converted to gaming console by just removing the joypad cover in a second.



And most importantly, it gots so many extension ports than put many of the current laptop to shame. 1xUSB4 (40Gbps), 1xUSB3.2 gen 2 type C, 3xUSB3.2 gen 1 type A, HDMI2.1(4K120fps) and so many expansion slots such as 4GLTE, mSD/SD and M.2 SSD. You can easily upgrade this unit up to 8T of storage space you wanted to.

Need extra GPU performance? Just plug in eGPU and slot in any Nvidia RTX card and you are good to go. The long-lasting battery is another reason I have decided with this unit.

The con side is, of course the weight. With so many bells and whistles coming with this unit, the weight is understandable.
