i'm guessing:

1) they don't wan u to host anything using home package.
cuz hosting & things that require port forward no longer works.

2) they wanna assert more control, easier censorship.

3) they can splice the bandwidth, giving priority traffic to premium customers.

we dont have any alternative ? maxis fiber also using unifi port. TIMES not everywhere got coverage

Why not just request for a public IP from TM?

my newer nas and cctv no problem because they have cloud option and also, accessing it using ipv6 also no problem.

just that older device that have no ipv6. have to set up rpi just for reverse proxy

Blame whole world for IPv6 not ready is better, but yes, enabling IPv6 will causing higher speed drop for Google Malaysia long time ago, now maybe it still happen.

Anyways, Streamyx did support IPv6, it is the first one supporting IPv6 well before QoS implemented, suddenly showing up and I was quite surprised.
Then I was having fun at full speed of browsing YouTube+Google, testing lot of IPv6 bugs on software and reporting to developer happily, while watching that crappy QoS implemented, then UniFi/Fiber showing up.

After a few years, suddenly Streamyx IPv6 disabled by TM, and not coming back...
Why?
Unsure, TM should have the answer, but not like Streamyx user gonna need IPv6 anyways, as they still can ask for public IP to connect CCTV...

Tm said this time you cant request for public anymore. If u want public you need to buy your own public ip for rm200 a month.

Use remote software like teamviewer or anydesk.

I am on maxis fiber and I emailed them to change from private ip ( pre assign when you sub ) to public address , since I am running cctvs on the premise

And fun facts, Teamviewer support IPv6, and it drop frame for UniFi IPv6 like hell 2 years ago, now fixed.

The problem is not we don't have IPv6, but even you have IPv6, the QoS implemented on it is still too low priority than IPv4....

How is connecting via IPv6 or IPv4 to the same Teamviewer server has connection with router?

For your info, IPv6 is totally fine on my side, Facebook, Google, Lowyat.net, Fast.com at full speed, and so far everyone is still affected by that crappy IPv6 connection to reach the CloudFlare server at SG/HK, which capped at 10Mbps instead of full speed via IPv4(CloudFlare speedtest and other website that using CloudFlare but without the special setup like Lowyat.net that redirect user to CloudFlare MY server, only happen to IPv6 user as far as I can saw).

Try open any website that somehow using CloudFlare as their image hosting CDN at night, then you will know what's I am talking about.

But it might be fixed, as I facing this crappy issues until either I force IPv4 only, facing 10M speed cap, or just give up like I did 1 month ago.

Also, TM have a more crappy IPv6 in past, they will drop any IPv6 allocation if you running your PPPoE connection for a long period.

Did you spotted that your Android's Google Play Store will hang on updating sometimes 2+ years ago?
Yes, they are having a strange fallback that will waiting for 30s on IPv6 before cut it off and fallback to IPv4.

And yes, they are improving, this issues don't happen more, so what's left is still crappy QoS like CloudFlare one.

After certain time of running without reboot, the QoS will drop the speed of IPv6 slower, slower and slower, but IPv4 is completely fine.
It is funny when I found about this QoS design.

Tried anything on it, custom QoS speed, default balance, any others to QoS, nope, only reboot as the workaround.
I guess, only telnet/ssh into router and finding a way to disable the QoS will solve the problem.

At the same time, I found out they also capped Google drive upload speed via IPv6, full speed via IPv4.
Unsure it is still the same or not, need someone that having high upload speed to test for me la.

Hmm unfortunately mine has been moved to private IP now. I notice a huge drop in the service quality. Frequent dropouts during zoom meetings. Websites would not show normally. Have to refresh multiple times. When opening multiple websites, most websites would not connect at all and will say "waiting time too long" or "offline". Also the online games ping have skyrocketed. Like one normal game out of 3 games. To think that I have to bear with this from now on, I am so depressed.
