That I totally agree. This policy doesn’t have a great economic impact and doesn’t affect housing prices in the affordable category due to the restrictions imposed.

Most Malaysians don’t have a strong grasp on policy making and economics hence they blame others on their inability to achieve their “dream” home.

And yes, the country should instead reduce our reliance on foreign labour but it’s a challenging problem. See what happened in UK, nobody wanted to become a lorry driver despite the shortages. If we reduce foreign labour and force local employment, it’s no guarantee that the B40 group will have the desire to pick up these jobs, even if wages increase.

I’m just irritated at the way the country is flip flopping and indecisive.

Our government definitely are not indecisive, the ministers that are too free always thought of some stupid policies then launched it immediately without proper research in order to get media exposure. After that U-turn when backlashes get out of hand

Don’t think those legal foreign labourers are cheap with all those permits, agent fees, visas etc.
They are more efficient than our locals in the low skill jobs area, as they don’t have a lot of grandmas/grandpas mati leave

Those one time fees are for agents only
And who are the agents??

Those foreign labourers monthly running cost and salary very low only

When they are cheap and replaceable, u can see many companies dont take health and safety seriously too..when a foreigner dies in construction mishaps, just replace with new one

whoever is the agents doesn't makes the foreign worker costs cheap, those permits for foreign workers ain't one time, that's for sure.

if safety issues happens in a company, the company have to take responsibility, the compensation and penalties will not be cheap.
