just did some calculations for 13 PM 256 GB device cost with Maxis 188 plan—
Apple retail: 5799 (≈RM 241.625 × 24 mo. or RM 161.0833 × 36 mo.)
Maxis Zerolution, 2-yrs: 4824 (RM 201 × 24 mo.)
Maxis Zerolution, 3-yrs: 4572 (RM 127 × 36 mo.)
Maxis contract: 3918 (≈RM 163.25 × 24 mo. or RM 108.34 × 36 mo.)

lol i’m so glad i picked the 3-year zerolution instead of the 2 year one

i was choosing between 256 and 512 and went with the bigger one since i plan to keep this for 3 years minimum haha

probably because iPhone is super high value item haha

that’s my rationale too - i already have Maxis home fiber with unlimited mobile line… takkan nak give that up so might as well pick the longest term

if i had the money i would’ve picked standard upfront contract tho since that’s the cheapest

since applecare+ isn’t available here and i can’t get the machines protection plan bc i didn’t purchase from them

my main concern is if something happens after the apple warranty expires lol

uhhhh i’m an existing Maxis user who ordered mine under my current principal line - okay je last night??? (unless you mean you already have a upfront/zerolution contract still active, in which case lol memang lah tak boleh)

the website say cannot have contract so yesterday i rajin2 go Maxis center and pay off my bro’s 11 on zerolution so i could pre order at 12am

according the call i had with the CS, depends if you're on zerolution360 or Zerolution.

i was on the former one, so i had to go Maxis center then had to pay 2000 (1700 for not returning the device before month 30, plus 234 for exiting the contract before month 24). then only Maxis removed my contract so i could pre-order using my primary 188 line

if you're on the latter one (standard zerolution), it should be doable over the phone. they will charge you similar to me, except you won't have to pay the 1700 non-return fee. the fee is calculated as = (Apple retail price of your current phone when it was new) / 24 * (number of months left in your contract) + early termination fee

call 123 and confirm with them for sure

P.S. f you've been a loyal customer who always pay on time, Maxis might waive the early termination fee since you only have 1 month left. alternatively, just wait for the contract to naturally end. Maxis will still charge you for the line, but not the device after 24 months

lol this is me but i'm still not elite status - and i already have 300mbps home fiber, principle line 188, 5 share lines, 2 device contracts. probably elite status on for those you have 800mbps home fiber + 188 principle line

in most cases (like yours) Maxis device contracts will auto-terminate after 24 months. you don't have to manually do anything, just pay the monthly bill only

i suggest you call the CS anyways. say you want to upgrade to 13 series 1 month early. Maxis should just waive the early termination fee and ask you for just the device payment, if you only have 1 month left. politely mention you plan to buy the phone from apple/switch/etc. to discourage them from charging you the fee, since they would prefer you restart the 2-year contract with them rather than buying the phone at retail

yes first charge is pre-auth. apple will refund the pre-auth and then do final charge once item is shipped. apple doesn’t double charge

in my opinion anyone who isn’t a professional content creator shouldn’t shoot prores lol - it’s a media industry video format designed for broadcasting to TV

i feel like if the user don’t plan on professionally editing it with something like Final Cut Pro or LumaFusion, not worth to shoot in ProRes since it’s uncompressed video can be several GB for just 2-3 minutes of footage

just shooting in 4k60 hevc is much better for storage or uploading to YouTube/Instagram/FB since they will re-encode all video (the only site that works with ProRes source files natively is Vimeo haha)

apple leather case is generally recommended because it’s very good value for a leather case
