two hours in, progress bar shows around 75% complete. at least ETA now just says 1 hour left

this was at 20% brightness. it's kind of slightly visible at higher brightness levels like around 70% too.

the above only in dark rooms with light turned off. if light on, not really visible

y’all, i already installed imos sapphire tg but now that i have discovered my phone got red tint issue…

can i take off the tg and send back the phone to Maxis for replacement with a new model? if can, should i?

or should i use until near the end of the 1 year warranty first then send it for repair?

lol i went to machines to ask about the the red tint on my display, their 13 also had that so they concluded it’s normal :/

yeah that wallpaper from the video. you can use siri to adjust brightness to specific % level. but then you have to remember that for 12 Pro 100% brightness is 800 nits meanwhile for 13 Pro max is 1000 nits. so you’re gonna need math to set them at equal levels lol

merchants don’t have to pay extra to accept apple pay. and apple pay taps appear the same as a normal contactless tap to the terminal.

however, the terminal can choose to accept secured transactions - in which they recognise apple pay is more secure than traditional contactless payments because apple pay taps require Face or Touch ID authentication.

because of this, apple charges a fee to the bank since they are cutting down risk of fraud (they also don’t allow the bank to pass the fee to merchant)

from the rumours i heard, none of the malaysian banks are willing to support apple pay because they don’t want to pay that extra 0.15% of every transaction to apple — probably because nfc contactless payments aren’t very popular here compared to qr payments that are cheaper like tng ewallet or even free (duitnow)

PS. if y’all don’t want to lose passwords, use iCloud Keychain. it will suggest and save a different password for each site you use, so you won’t be getting hacked due to leaked passwords. and the passwords are secured with your Face ID or passcode so no one else can even try to open the app

day 3 update of using my 13 Pro Max:

the good: i love how bright the screen can get - i use dark mode all the time and it’s still visible under hot sun

my old X kalau bright sunlight terus tak nampak apa-apa lol

the bad: typing one handed is kind of a bitch lmao - ended up i have to put down the phone on table to type this while i eat haha

yeah i knew about reachability - used it on my X also. i dont have a problem swiping from left to go back but typing can be a bit difficult

googled and found out that there is an option for one-handed typing

in settings > general > keyboard > one-handed keyboard - it makes the keyboard narrower and squeezes it to one side, changeable using the globe key

personally i love the full width keyboard for two handed use (no more typos!) but i'm gonna try that option whenever i need to type haha

it is very loud.... lol

i have always have to turn down the volume to 75% because my habit with my old X was to play media at 100% hahaha

my telinga panas… hahaha this is funny to me because i did take day off on 8 October lol


btw i bought that magsafe car mount i found at RM 59… it works!! haha

there’s a free metal ring in the box so you can stick an apple magsafe charger or other phones on it and attach it to the mount also.

btw they seem to sell a magsafe-certified charger that's cheaper than apple's. got the animation on phone when attached

yes, bluetooth/wifi/location switched on all the time since i first used 3GS. those days got lah impact on battery life, but on modern devices (around 7 or newer) is negligible. because newer protocols like bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi ac are better optimised for low energy use, plus apple have specially optimised their processors for it. battery impact now most likely come from data use (check background app refresh settings and disable for non-important apps, eg. shopee or fb) or location services (disable always allow for all apps and change to when in use only)
