QUOTE(Cavino @ Jun 4 2024, 11:43 AM) 100% snake oil. Drove 2 cars with over 200k each, just use good authentic FS all the way, never needed them. My mechanic only recommend their usage when engine go problem and try to troubleshoot. As long as change FS on time (I change FS every 5-8K max or 6 months whenever come first), never needed them for 18 years. However that is for NA engine. Not sure about turbo tho...may need them, direct injection tech got affect or not on dirtiness of engine, itu gua also don't know. No turbo engine in my house yet. what is FS? I'm thinking engine oil / lubricant the timing also applies to oil fiter? |

i have some posts in this thread here a while back and you can google for L15B7 turbo engine valve and valve seal pictures after a long period, they seem to do quite well.
To me, there is not much to worry about in terms of the engine, the CRV has already used it so long in Malaysia and I don't recall a major issue with carbonization. There are more things to worry about (looking at the steering) |

QUOTE(beckhamnov @ Jun 21 2024, 11:41 AM) Hahaha technically not young HRV is great option for 2 person, and potentially next kid.Im 32 this year, but I liked driving and SUV because its comfortable, but deep inside always felt like im missing the sedan drive in my life My wife loves the CRV, high viewing point and she feels safe I just drive mainly for work actually, and bring my wife out She will drive occasionally as well Plus point CRV - Occasionally will be fetching our parents when we visit them - High view point, comfortable - CRV Ehev felt very good when test driving it - Been in waiting list since Feb, was told will get next month Plus point for Civic ehev - very good looking car - Suitable for a couple like me - Good driving experience In my mind, I went for the CRV first, then i was like why am i getting such a huge car for 2 ppl Hence the dilemma |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Jun 26 2024, 06:49 PM) Just want to check here... anyone attempted to raise the height of the front passenger seat? My SA told me some done it with the use of some washers added to the seat bolts... anyone did the same here ? You cannot use simple washers. This is because the front 2 holes are on a slant, and if you just use spacers it will misalign the holes of the body vs seat. If you are mechanically inclined you will understand. Using my phone cannot draw simple diagram. When I first bought my car I almost decided to jack it up and designed a spacer “realignment block”. But this will need the seat to go up at least 2 inches if I recall and I gave up. Maybe I didn’t spend enough time on the CAD as I didn’t consult master designer @KCLOW. TLDR just buy a thicker cushion pad |

Hi guys today I was "recommended" to replace this item. Although I initially consented I double checked the maintenance list and it didn't appear. So I declined. Do you know what is this particular item physically? Anyone can find the part number for reference? Ops sorry for the tardiness- RENEW UPPER INTAKE DUCT FOAM (BIG) What is this? Compulsory to change? QUOTE(DM3 @ Jun 28 2024, 11:51 PM) I got some further info from SA. 1. This is some sort of filter for air cond but into the internal cabin 2. I said since this kind of filter is not easy to access how did they manage to know mine is broken or worn and in need of replacement. 3. SA Said confirm they didn’t check it first and recommend by age / year of use. 4. I ask for part number and he said this part is “localised” and does not have a part number and only “authorised air cond supplier by Honda has this part and cannot easily buy from spare part shop”. 5. Shady AF. This post has been edited by lee82gx: Jun 29 2024, 06:04 PM |

my friend's CBU CX-30 also rattle like nuts. CRV 1.5 TCP (2023, not the current latest) one also rattled. His ex CX-5 2.2 diesel was surprising tight and not rattling. All this is based on 1 sample size each.
Have to accept it and move on if not in and out of service center like no tomorrow and believe me they will ask any Tom dick and harry without sufficient bulu on their body to dismantle, pull out and reattach your panels and trims. After one too many, your studs will start getting loose and things will rattle anyway. This post has been edited by lee82gx: Jul 10 2024, 10:53 AM |

QUOTE(squareballs @ Aug 5 2024, 02:38 PM) my product update rack is getting worst in less than 3 months. sticky and tuk tuk at least you have 3, mine just straight up reject my first claim. ( you can see my sad / angry post somewhere in this thread they use a dubious sound sensor to detect the kuk kuk severity).i lodged a report to KPDN online and Honda Malaysia via email last week. this morning they called and i told them what i've been through since 2023 Jan till now. (total 3 racks) Nothing to lose anymore, i've given up on the car. so just go all in on the complaints. lol After the Product update in January my symptom is now getting worse too. I feel its a matter of weeks before I go and complain again. Got any action promised by Honda when they call you or they just want to tick the box that says "checked with complainant" and throw the issue down the drain again? |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Aug 11 2024, 11:38 AM) Afaik the issue with steering racks is due to a local supplier here. Thai dont seem to have any issues or its not as widespread. Honda USA did issue a recall notice for steering related issues though US civics FEs are fraught with steering sticky. It is 90%+ of all complaints. Similar to Malaysia, recall does not fix. They have plenty who have multiple replacements and no fix. Source Civic11 forum.https://hondanews.com/en-US/honda-corporate...ing-rack-recall KingArthurVI liked this post

QUOTE(thechickadee @ Aug 11 2024, 09:55 AM) Am thinking of getting an FE due to the rebates. Wanna ask the sifus, how long does it take for honda to entertain steering rack issues and how long does it take for honda to replace the steering rack? It’s take long and is frustrating. They use a lousy China aliexpress audio sensor thingy to detect max turn “bump” sound. If your rack registers a bump sound large enough on only one end CW or CCW, then it’s not qualified for replacement or warranty claim. You need to trip their sensor on both ends. On my case which I ranted about in this thread you will see that my steering already sticky and unsmooth to my hands, but only register small sensor reading limit on one end of the turn and can’t even see qualify to get warranty claim. That’s one day wasted. Be prepared to spend days in ordering grab in and out of your service center. Or if you are in Penang island south I can let u test drive my car and then you can decide if you can live with the issue or not, permanently. Also, anyone has idea whether the thai facelift uses the same steering rack? thechickadee liked this post

QUOTE(derict @ Aug 25 2024, 11:43 PM) OOT, i also tried searching in this thread but couldn't find which fuel u all using that probably can achieve better fuel consumption. I understood that it will be due to daily drive conditions, whether city driving, jam, etc etc. My current MYR75-80 petron only give me max 380km under ECON mode. Its Civic RS that i am driving. Overall, i am not too happy with this car. Although just 7months of owning it. |
