The moment they start throwing price at this period of time, they are likely trying to clear stock for the coming facelift liao. Haha. At least it gives that impression. Ehev are a much harder sell due to their high price, add a few K more can buy a CRV E spec liao. So better throw price now to start clearing stock.

But being a City eHev driver, I can say the driving refinement of eHev is a class above the petrol counterpart. Some might argue on that tho but being a daily drive of both old petrol City and new eHev City, even I cannot differentiate the difference of normal petrol City and eHev on first drive until I drove them immediately one after another. The much smoother gearless lower to mid range speed acceleration, the vibration of cars, can follow 10K service maint schedule (vs turbo) is something the petrol variant cannot match.

Although City has weakness of loud engine restart noise especially during idle, Civic and Crv 2.0 engine has minimize such annoyance. I got used to it tho....then every time the noise appear during idle, I know I will have true EV silent acceleration after that with no vibration.

Those are normally not mentioned when ppl compare petrol vs eHev variant. They only look at fuel savings vs high pricing of eHev. We do pay more premium in the end coz we have to consider the possible lower resale value and battery replacement cost BUT the higher selling price will eventually be negated by fuel price increment especially if we drive a lot (unfortunately for hybrid drivers that don't drive much, then not worth the increase cost). My 100km daily trip almost double the mileage per full tank with eHev. For City, that means I can recover the price difference within 5 years and that is assuming the price stays at 2.05. For Civic, much longer a bit but that is again assuming price stays at 2.05. After that, it is cost saving all the ways...still cannot make up battery change difference but at least can reduce the eventual cost of replacement (if necessary).

The other major weakness is no spare tyre. In Malaysia road where almost every car has kena punctured before, it is a headache. Lets hope the portable tyre pump can handle the leak as long as gap is not too huge.

my friend's CBU CX-30 also rattle like nuts. CRV 1.5 TCP (2023, not the current latest) one also rattled. His ex CX-5 2.2 diesel was surprising tight and not rattling. All this is based on 1 sample size each.

Have to accept it and move on if not in and out of service center like no tomorrow and believe me they will ask any Tom dick and harry without sufficient bulu on their body to dismantle, pull out and reattach your panels and trims.
After one too many, your studs will start getting loose and things will rattle anyway.

Even if the facelift launch i doubt its gonna be any big difference other than cosmetic change. Maybe HM will finally give BSM? Maybe they will fix the hard seats in the RS? Maybe Bose? (a bit far fetched but since CRV got it.... ). Some say it will also get the slightly more powerful powertrain (+ 20nm) from the CRV hybrid. But looking at how slow production is for that now, not sure if HM want to add another model to share the same powertrain

All these probably will add up to the price which is already very expensive to begin with for a Civic (167k). The pricing now is the sweet spot after rebates (155 - 157k~)

#TIL when ur normal battery is dead, ur hybrid will die like normal car. Urgh.

Facelifted Civic launched in Thailand. As expected not much changes other than cosmetics

The biggest change was the HU now using Android automotive OS, 4 way power adjustable front passenger seat, and Bose for the full spec hybrid

If only they can pad the seats to be slightly thicker for less butt pain and give an eight way power seat on the passenger. For me, that will like be the 2 most important change for comfort but I think they skip that.

hello guys, recently civic has huge discount that make me even wanted to switch from toyota to honda but 1 thing bugging me is, I saw a lot of review stating steering rack issue, just wanted to know how bad it is...

I did.. But all they did was either showing off modify or selling modify product, could be I didn't dig deeper, I only get info from xhs and Tiktok which is not so good but everyone satisfied with the driving experience just the steering rack and absorber not so

Same here. From all the research i've done, it's all the extreme of one end. It's either "i don't have this problem, driven 100k km" or "this is my 3rd time changing steering rack and it's not even 20k km yet". I don't mind the steering rack issue as long as they are ways in rectifying it permanently, however, HM seems to be taking everyone for a ride here.

Hoping that they will resolve the issue in the facelift, if not, would probably skip this generation of civic and wait for another 3 years for the FMC.

The thing with Honda Malaysia's steering rack issue is not limited to 1 model like Civic only. Basically the entire fleet of product has this same problem. Driving a HRV, changed twice still got sound. My mechanic friend that runs a shop, he said bulk of Honda car that came in also changing steering rack only. As long as people continue buying their new cars, they won't fix this.

I doubt so becoz black and white only write 5 years. In the US or some western countries I heard extended to 7 and 8 years for steering rack issue but definitely not in Malaysia or ASEAN countries.

I'm gonna decide within this month to let go my FE and get other new car.

2 scenarios i analyze
- either i bite the bullet and sell off before facelift civic launch (to try save some value on the FE)
- use the car until 4th year only decide, which i have to live with the stupid steering rack issues and make myself stress and fedup for another 2 years

From what i read on FB, even new CRVs also affected already .  I highly doubt those so called improved parts for FE will solve the problem once and for all.

Know so many owners sold their car, really shitty HM, don't knw when only they realised ppl already lost hope with their models
