I seriously think there are some people who are regretting getting their current rides and trying to get others here to be in the same boat as them. Judging from the comments from some people here blissandecstasy liked this post

QUOTE(PoisonSoul @ Jan 11 2022, 10:15 AM) Nice. Medias today coming back from Penang I guess from their Corolla Cross Hybrid test drives. Rest and prep 1 day, and then go for Civic launching. Then iinm, 14th is like the official launch for their test drives today. Anyways, packed week for the medias but good for us, tons of Youtube videos to watch this weekend! packed with Cross Hybrid, City Hatchback and Civic launch. Busy time early this year.QUOTE(aarex @ Jan 11 2022, 10:42 AM) Did ask, he said don't think got test drive until closer to CNY.QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jan 11 2022, 11:22 AM) interesting times, I am still looking at precisely these few cars for my next purchase. (Corolla cross and Civic). I drove my MIL Corolla Cross - nice car, but totally different from Civic. If Corolla Cross vs HRV, definitely the Cross. If you have problems entering/exiting the current Civic, also the Cross is better. But performance / handling, Civic wins hands down. One thing I miss / don't like about the Cross is the Apple Carplay implementation is terrible - no integration with steering controls and stupid USB location, as well as there is no brake hold. |

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jan 11 2022, 12:35 PM) What do you think about passenger space especially width at back seat between civic and Corolla cross? Passenger space, I would say similarish - didn't measure, but feel like Cross wins on passenger space height. Not sure on the new Civic of course, but current Civic it's a bit hard to get in or out from the back seat, even when compared to the old Civic. Cross Hybrid, can't say coz MIL is the CBU Cross from last year. Didn't feel lacking in acceleration, but compared to Civic like night and day. One thing to note though is that speeds higher than 140km/h on the Cross, it's feels very jumpy, not as as stable/firm as Civic or even CRV. Cross winds or big vehicles at highway speeds, you can definitely feel the car pull to one side. Didn't drive too far though, only JB - Melaka & JB - Kota Tinggi, but maybe around 1,000km of driving on the car for this personal thoughts. Comfort wise, really more comfortable than Civic, yes.Performance wise, If you see the acceleration figures from cross hybrid vs civic actually from 0-60km/h about the same….. I think perhaps that’s all a regular person really needs, which is to accelerate from standstill. To escape from the junction etc. Once reach 80+ cruising I think not much need for me to get to 110kmh in a hurry. (I am uncle with kids and vege in my boot). Lastly both comfortable or not ah? Digressing from the topic though lol! If want to know more, can PM me to discuss in detail. This post has been edited by isr25: Jan 11 2022, 12:58 PM lee82gx liked this post

QUOTE(Jason2021 @ Jan 12 2022, 11:37 AM) Absence of "Source" button on left side of steering control means we cannot easily access media control using steering control (must reach out to the touch screen)? Civic 2022 (US) Manual - page 251 to 253. Our RS is A-Type meter. Press home & cycle using the left selector wheel to change source. |

QUOTE(Jason2021 @ Jan 14 2022, 01:43 PM) Hi does anyone know whether we can buy from Honda the trunk tray and sunshade separately? Based on the customer price list, it is under Utility Package of RM1241 which includes items that I dont need or already have like the trunck organizer & the car cover. Yes can. I also added on Trunk Tray & Illuminated Side step. My SA handling it.QUOTE(GuyM @ Jan 14 2022, 02:10 PM) Anyone knows what's the best HP rate based on $110k loan amount with 7 years tenure? BTW going for RS, haven't bought a car in 14 yrs.... Not sure, but I was offered 2.11% for 105k + 7 years from Affin. Also - I went to see the car in person today. Just had a look, no test drive. So comparing it with my 2016 FC (launch unit too) 1. The rear side passenger has the biggest upgrade IMHO. If you had sat at the rear in the FC, it’s seating is really “deep” as in you were seating quite a bit behind the door opening. It’s a bit difficult to enter or exit. FE fixed that and has a more normal rear seating position. 2. Engine bay for the FE is much more roomier. You can see the extra crumple zones and more breathing room compared to FC. Open up the engine bay, and it’s immediately noticeable. 3. The new seats with “leather like fabric” on the FE compared to full leather on the FC feels like a downgrade. But in terms of comfort, maybe FE has the slight edge. Seat height is the same with the FC - pretty sure when people say FE seating is low, they never had a seat in the FC. 4. Drive view is much better on FE - mind you this is not on the road but in the showroom. Feel like the A pillar blindspot is much more minimal in the FE compared to FC. 5. The buttons on steering wheel functions similarly to the FC. In fact, I like the layout on the new FE better with proper single buttons on the FC for volume up/down. Not sure if there is a quick mute function similar to FC (swiping down quickly on volume). 6. The floor lights and red lighting accents are very subtle, but appreciated. Feel like the cabin lights are also better in illuminating the cabin. This post has been edited by isr25: Jan 14 2022, 06:08 PM Scissorshand, JY8808, and 1 other liked this post

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jan 14 2022, 09:09 PM) I always change my car every 5 years, and Civic has been the choice for me 3 times running - FD2, FC and now FE. No reason other than their competitors did not appeal to me at this time. Mazda 3 came close, but still no cigar - I’m a big guy and its internal dimensions are small. Altis is underpowered for the Malaysian market. Proton x70 has no bells and whistles that I was looking for - no carplay was the dealbreaker. Continentals - I don’t want to waste my money.Don’t get me wrong, the Malaysian Civic is by no means perfect, but it’s the best in my current use case. |

QUOTE(lee82gx @ Jan 16 2022, 11:04 AM) I was starting with 110k budget for the old 1.8S and now I feel, another 15k is worth it for the new E. if go another step up I think the difference is great enough to buy another small car. Wireless carplay mod - i’ve seen a few, but never bought nor tested. So far, just a dongle at the usb, but unsure of the responsiveness compared to native wireless carplay.Soo….I think I just be disciplined bah! Btw can I get recommendation for DVR, is the factory package at RM1.1k worth it? Also, for DVR, just get outside since it also plugs into a USB port for power. I’m also planning to get a Viofo A129 Pro Duo for the new civic. Planning for the shop to help install - they all pro one. If lazy, can get Honda DVR - but unsure of the specs… |

QUOTE(angkhian @ Jan 19 2022, 10:43 AM) Anyone considering an upgrade to the new Civic? I am current user of the FB model, now thinking if it's wise to do so... FB to FC is a huge step up. I consider the FE is between a minor & major update for the FC. So for an FB user, it's a no brainer. If you like the looks and are agreeable to the price, just do it angkhian liked this post
