I am eyeing on the Mi Pad 5 and heard rumors there will be Malaysia warranty version, not sure when will it launch here

Yes I am also using a tab S6 lite currently, but the 15w charging is super slow and the battery seems not long lasting...one more thing I notice my screen edge seems to be a bit yellowish and this is only like 2 months old device

Actually Lenovo seem not bad... OLED screen, unibody chasis... xiaomi build quality is bad according to this reviewer.

Mi Pad 5 Pro won't be available Globally especially Malaysia?

Isn't the latest stylus for Mi Pad 5 similar to those like huawei and samsung consider as Active Stylus?
I am not sure since I saw it is equipped with battery need to be recharge

Lenovo in terms of spec and price I think consider great as well, but heard that Lenovo has bad history of providing update support for its device...which is one of the key point need to be consider as well

For the device itself I am expecting below RM2000 for the 6+128 wifi variant, for the keyboard even now buying from China also cost around 300, if Xiaomi Malaysia want to reward customer can just bundle it as freegift during early bird promo/pre-order, but I doubt they will do that

I think it is the whole service center system. Saw many complaints in Xiaomi Malaysia Chinese Owner FB Group. I was Xiaomi Phone when Xiaomi Phone first launch in Malaysia. Redmi Note if not mistaken. That time service center not bad... After then I changed to Huawei phone. Down the road over the years I noticed that less and less products officially in Malaysia.

are you referring to the Desktop mode? It is in process now as currently only Mi Mix 4 have the desktop mode

Miui PC/desktop not as good as samsung dex in s6/s7 at the moment. Still work in progress. Apps like Microsoft word cant open in full screen unlike in samsung dex.

Other alternative

Realme pad which will launch globally tomorrow, price arround 200-300 usd. Midrange chipset but built in stylus just like samsung note series. No desktop mode

Samsung S6 lite also midrange chipset, stylus included, dex mode support. Price range rm1200-1500

Samsung s7fe 12 inch screen upper Midrange chipset, stylus included, free book cover/keyboard. Dex mode support. Price start from 1899-2k

Import set lenovo padpro 21 also quite good but netflix HD not supported yet which a dealbreaker for me.

gsmarena review seems like the screen is good and bright enough. the brighness is higher than galaxy s7+ for hdr content.

What is the trend for Xiaomi in the past when new product launched? Free gift or cheaper price? Euro early bird price only applicable for 6+128. It could be the same for Malaysia.

Usually it is cheaper if I'm not mistaken.

I've been using the China version of Mi Pad 5 Pro for a week now and I am very happy with it considering the price. Sadly Netflix is not HD and no headphone jack but I can bear with those.

The Mi Pad 5 and 5 Pro are both a joy to game with especially with the nice speakers. Also I really appreciate the 120hz screen.

Xiaomi pad 5 global version only come with 22.5w charger...vs China version which 33w.

Weird, even cheaper poco x3 pro with same chipset they give 33w.

I did not compare with Ipad Air since I prefer some sort of tablet that can sideload. Lol..... It is not really can compare apple to apple. Apple ipad development far more mature than Android Tablet.

Well I said China Pad5 can because based on some reviewers who use China Pad5 and mentioned that can play Netflix HD and Netflix show L1 too...You can browse thru China Xiaomi forum too got mention. All before global version launched.

And Pad5 Pro can't play Netflix HD at the moment. Don't mixed up.....

I am using both China and Global variant Pad 5....basically no difference. except for 33w charging speed for China...and only 22.5w for Global set

I am considering one too. The early bird price RM1299 is so cheap, almost only one third of my current ipad pro.

I prefer 256 but no early bird sales. No rush for me. I may take Pro version. Lol I owned iPad Air 4.

For me base model good enough unless u want to store all your photos and videos inside ur tablet which i dont recommend, my past experience with xiaomi phone in term of reliability not great, all last less than 2.5 year, anything happend to ur device high possibility to lost all data inside, so better store all your personal photos n videos on cloud or type C thumb drive or ssd drive. just plug and plug when when u want to view/need it.

Anybody knows if any cheap stylus will work with the Pad 5?

I don't really use it for drawing, just basic writing but something with not so terrible input lag and with palm rejection.

I'm thinking the same thing too, can't justify extra rm300 for the 256gb when you can get a 2tb hdd for rm200

I didn't see but you the one said. Lol what I know is that the global spec is exactly the same as China one. However, China side started support up to 33w. Early batch give free 33w charger then after that some retailers follow the same give 33w charger as free gift. Global one just give 22.5w charger officially. You can think it's "really" better but actually clear cut cost. Lol...
