just fuel up with RON95 will do, people complaining that they "feel" the engine is "knocking" were probably all impressions within their mind. the manifold set up in Skyactiv engines were specifically designed to eliminate these issues.

it may be correct that RON97 is better for engine health because they contain more "cleaners" so they are supposed to clean the valves, pistons, chambers etc better than RON95 but since all Skyactiv engines are direct injection, they don't really do much for the valves.

besides, you get a can of free deposit cleaner from the SC every time you send your car for the regular maintenance so that's that.

just fuel up with what your wallet allows you to.

Mazda CX5 in Australia can take RON91 without any issue then why afraid to fill RON95?

Had a Mazda 3 (BM) 2.5L in Aus - manual say minimum 91, so I pump 91. Ok je.

But I also had a MX-5 (ND) 1.5L - that one I pump 98 all the way laugh.gif

Pokoknya, RTFM.

your engine will tweak/adapt the timing according to your fuel ..as long as your user manual stated can support RON95

Euro 4 is just cleaner fuel ..but in term of combustion timing ..they are same
my 2 cents will be ..dont keep switching or MIX  in between 95 and 97

engine take time to train and used to that fuel

frequent switching might cause minor knock if engine was not trained

Yes but Malaysia Ron 95 and Ron 97 should be both Euro 4M standard edey.

is there really a practical difference between RON95 and RON97?
both seem practically the same to me.

a lot of people keep saying "RON97 better for engine health" but why? in what way is it better? that 2% higher octane level make any actual difference?

Yup.therefore, in term fuel cleanliness. both are similar

Just my feedback is ..dont frequent switching different RON of fuel..engine need to take time to adapt and adjust the timing

last time there is smart guy (my friend) who told ppl to mix half tank of RON97 + half tank of RON95 to get "RON96" shakehead.gif shakehead.gif

Engine will be like 95 95 95 97 97 97 95 95 95 97 ????

follow car manual

high compression doesn't mean must be high RON fuel, the manufacturer can design the way air fuel mixes swirl in the cylinder and cylinder head shape to reduce the high temp points so still can use lower RON fuels.

If your engine has an EFI, it’ll adapt to whatever fuel you use

cx5 = 97 run smoothly while 140 to 160kmj. you feel no different if less than that.

95. a bit rough while reaching the speed but wont rasa until you too particular or too subjective with your throttle paddle
